Coach Ferrigno stopped by Archbiship Wood Catholic during the first week of February to check in on Ryan Bates, who eventually earned an offer and recently committed to Penn State, and linebacker prospect Jake Cooper. Cooper has a decent offer list at this point and has continued to garner interest from the Wolverines. Ferrigno actually told Cooper that if it was his decision alone, he'd have already offered him.

Jake was very excited to see Coach Ferrigno in his school even if there main focus was Bates.

I'm very interested in Michigan! Coach Ferrigno was cool and spent a little time with me and Ryan. I know Ryan was offered, he's a beast. Hopefully I'm next. Getting an offer from Michigan would be awesome.

The day I spoke with Jake he was actually offered by James Franklin and the in-state Nittany Lions. With Cooper being a Pennsylvania native and a linebacker I assumed he was a lifelong Penn State fan, but it turns out that wasn't actually the case.

My pops is a Notre Dame fan so I grew up liking the Irish. I have to admit I've always had a little something in me for Linebacker U.

Michigan's contact with Cooper could drop off since Ryan Bates is off the table now that he's committed to Penn State, but it was very evident that he has a lot of interest in the Wolverines. At this point he's simply a name to keep an eye on and I will continue to check with him periodically to see if the coaches are maintaining a relationship with him.

Meh, lots of guys like that right here in Michigan. 183lbs....yes, I know he'll put on weight, but come on. That's small for a DIII level linebacker. Someone to keep an eye on I guess.
