Auburns crumbling recruiting class

Submitted by goody on
In the last two days 7!!! recruits ( with the possibility of more) have decommited from Auburn after Tuberville "on his own volition" resigned. Wow, U of M did not this bad of a backlash after Carr retired. I can only remember Weinke? leaving the 08' recruitng class. Any chance Michigan can land any of these recruits?

From what I remember, the only decommit we were involved with was David Conner. He's a safety. I liked his film because he's a good hitter and has pretty good speed. But he's from Mississippi, which is obviously not a recruiting hotbed for Michigan.

Hopson has been at M for less than a year. He's got relationships in Mississippi, and it's at least possible that he could land some kids. Give him a chance before you write him off. But yeah, all in all I have a tough time imagining a lot of Mississippi kids coming to M, even under the best of circumstances.

I don't know much about his class, but I suspect that kids who pick Auburn generally want to stay in the south, so getting them this late in the game would be tough. That said, I suspect at least a few of these kids will come back into the Auburn fold once they name a new coach, especially if it is someone either with the program now or a big-name coach.
