Abby Cole to play basketball after 2015 volleyball season
This could be a big pick up for Coach Barnes Arico as we have been in need of size. Abby Cole could become a force in the paint. She will have two years of eligibility left.

It is old news, but the program didn't make it official until today.
She was a very good basketball player in high school, but I'm a bit skeptical of this given her long absence from hoops. She does fill the need for a backup to Hallie Thome at center.

As a Grand Haven native and GH graduate I'm psyched to hear the news is official!
Abby was a dominant BB player, back-to-back state titles 2012, 2013 and state semi-finalist 2011.
Great shot blocker!
From the home town Grand Haven Tribune (more old news)
Buccaneers’ coach Katie Kowalczyk-Fulmer recently tabulated Cole’s career statistics. Her 535 career blocks over three years puts the Bucs’ senior fourth on the Michigan career list. Grandville’s Alyssa DeHaan holds the state record with 718 blocked shots over her four-year varsity career.
It is impossible to get a shot over that.
She's got to be one of the best athletes to ever come from the Grand Haven area, right? I don't know of many olympians from GH.
I think there was that one Cowboys QB who was on survivor or something...
We may be B1G Championship contenders in 2017-18. Maybe even the favorites(?) with that talent and how they will all be experienced by then.
Will she continue with Volleyball, or just switch to BB exclusively?
This will be her final volleyball season.
after her vollyball eligibiliy is used up.
