Not that there's anything wrong with that.
The AA.com comment was what one would call "homoerotic", not "homophobic." (Tongue-in-cheek, to be sure; sort of nicely written when you think about posting something like that on an ordianary news outlet comments thread.) My comment was not "homophobic," it is what one would call a "joke," as popularized in a 1993 episode of Sienfeld, "The Outing."
But apparently, homoeroticism touches a nerve among the Hoke-love crowd.
Not that there's anything wrong with your signature line.
