AA.com covers Mott Takeover; talks to Players/Coaches

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

AnnArbor.com covers the Radiothon that pulled in almost $80k for Mott's Children Hospital. In between thhey talked to players and coaches about various topics.

In what amounts to delicious Hoke porn, the ex-players talk about the coach-

There may still be people who doubt Hoke; the guys who played aren't among them.

The Gorgeous One talks about expanding Devin's role on offense-

Steve Everitt talks about the NFL bounty system. Check out that "Worst State Ever" shirt-

Brady talks about MSU's winning streak-

General article, but with great pics of players (someone has to get Steve in his WSE shirt posted)-

Borges didn't let on much, though, when asked about Gardner's abilities at wideout. "He's got two hands -- I seen them the last time I saw him," he said.

From the AA.com comments:

I'm elated that Michigan Men are head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to expressing who we truly are. Coming out is not an easy thing to do, but at Michigan led by our coach, we fully embrace a lifestyle not accepted by the mainstream.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The AA.com comment was what one would call "homoerotic", not "homophobic."  (Tongue-in-cheek, to be sure; sort of nicely written when you think about posting something like that on an ordianary news outlet comments thread.)  My comment was not "homophobic," it is what one would call a "joke," as popularized in a 1993 episode of Sienfeld, "The Outing."

But apparently, homoeroticism touches a nerve among the Hoke-love crowd.

Not that there's anything wrong with your signature line.

As the post you copied does, is homophobic. It makes it seem like it's a bad thing to liken Michigan attitudes to such acts, thus thinly veiled anti-gay bias. And throwing in NTTAWWT doesn't make it less so. And while your prior post didn't, you current post does the same thing by throwing a dig at my sig line, which is what, supposed to make me feel all uncomfortable because it might seem homosexual? Your only interest in all that material linked being only that post, and following it up with ths, maybe you doth protest too much. Don't worry, you can't "catch it". Though don't be sore that Michigan players can be quoted saying things like that about Hoke, and didn't have raves about Rich. It doesn't make you any more wrong than you've already been. That's ok. Just save your homophobia for your blog.
