Now that the honeymoon is over and the likeable and wildly successful debut of Hoke taking this proud program back to relevance in his first season is over, I have to wonder if the criteria by which Dave Brandon used to make a coaching change after just 3 seasons with RR will be modified. His rationale was that there was no improvement in the direction of the program from 3 wins to 5 and to 7. Brady Hoke, who took over with Rodriguez's senior class, certainly restored some pride amongst the fan base but with this season likely ending at 6-6 with the very real possibility of a losing record after the bowl game, depending on the opponent, one has to wonder if this program is indeed improving. Time will tell but by this point RR had sacrificed his defensive coordinator and was a lame duck entering game 10 of his third year. Will Hoke need to do the same to Borgess to save his own job or will DB wait another season before making a decision? The thousands of fans heading out of Michigan Stadium with 2 minutes to go on Saturday have certainly made their decision already.
