Juwan's son, 2022 4* Jett Howard is transferring to IMG Academy. This is good as he will be able to play against increased competition and get to practice with and against some of the best players in the country. He will likely also be on national TV multiple times the next two years for fans.

Not sure if this was ever posted on this blog, but Chris Balas reported a while back that Jett has grown a few inches from his reported 6'4" on 247 and is actually closer to 6'7" or 6'8" now

Does IMG matter as much for basketball as it does with football? With AAU, EYBL, etc, feels like you can get lots and lots of quality reps vs. meaningful opponents regardless of where you go to school.

You can still get solid competition consistently depending on the city and state your school is in. But at a place like IMG, you play against D1 prospects every day in practice and they play against most of the other sport factories. Plus, helps Juwan build great relationships with the IMG coaches, which will help with recruiting.

Jett is going to be a great ambassador for UofM with all the connections he has made on the hoop circuit.  IMG can only help.

I am looking forward to seeing his recruiting class come together.  Maybe he will be that rare 4* walk on to make room for all of his friends.

Is he pretty much a Michigan lock?  Honest question...I have no idea in this particular case.  I do know that there seem to be plenty of good recruits who have college coaches as dads who do not end up playing for them.  But most of them don't have jobs as high profile as UM.

As a freshman this kid got major clock on a team that featured Vernon Carrey, Scottie Barnes, and his brother. He is legit and I can’t wait until he is in a Michigan uniform.

He already was at a school that has had top 10 basketball talent, but this change might be more about playing basketball this winter.  His current school is in South Florida (Broward County) and is much more conservative (not in our current bipolar political sense) on the quarantine compared to the rest of Florida.  I expect the same will take place on the question of scholastic athletics this year as each county decides about schools playing a basketball schedule.
