Live stats

Junior southpaw Brett Adcock (1-1, 1.04 ERA) gets the start on the mound tonight. Following the shutout yesterday, Michigan's team ERA improved to 1.44, which is #4 in NCAA D-I.

EDIT: Michigan had a 4-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 9th, the Rainbow Warriors tied it up to send it to extra innings, and then the Wolverines win 5-4 on a RBI single from Harrison Wenson in the 10th. Full recap is here, but see the posts below for some good descriptions of the action from San Diego Mick and others (as well as the postgame comments of Erik Bakich in the embedded podcast).

Adcock deserved better than a no decision, going 7 innings, giving up just 1 earned run on 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out a career-high 12.

The teams will wrap up the series today playing two, both scheduled for 7 innings. Unfortunately, there's no live stream for either game. There is live audio; see this page for the links. 5:05 ET is the time for the first game.

1-0 Michigan after Johnny Slater comes through in the top of the second with a 2-out double down the right-field line to drive in Lugbauer from first.

almost let hawaii start a rally with 2 outs and nobody on in the B8th by calling the batter safe at 1st when he was obviously out and then the next guy walks but we struck out the next batter, fuck officiating in all sports!

1st two guys were put out easily

next guy hits a seeing eye infield hit

next guy strikes out but ball gets by the catcher and he's safe

next guy has another seeing eye infield hit, guy scores

next guy hits a base hit, two guys score

men on 1st and 3rd and count goes to 3-1 and a pass ball almost lets the guy from 3rd almost score but we luckily got him out at home on a bang, bang play, whew

extra innings we go

Michigan pitching staff combines for 20 strikeouts.  That crazy bottom of the 9th inning is the only thing that kept this from being an easy Wolverine victory.  Could have (and maybe should have) been a Hawaii victory if that call at the plate had gone the other way.  My compliments to Hawaii for providing an excellent streaming broadcast.
