The 100 Years of Michigan Football Exhibit
Enjoy and GO BLUE!!
Wow, great job by Millie.
Her Little Brown Jug story seems different than anything I've heard though. I thought they do have the original.
MVictors did a whole series on the Little Brown Jug and it pretty firmly establishes that the Jug today is almost assuredly the same one as was left behind at Minnesota in 1903. They also point to the wrong ones in the video, the one on the right is a display replica, the one on the left is the real Jug that's exchanged.
I am, and I will be, celebrating both milestones this year - because. Go Blue!
Not quite as long, but don't forget this is also 20 years since the '97 National Championship. Hoping for some cool guests and flashbacks this season.
Cool video! It's strange how much Cathy Schembechler has eclipsed Millie in the popular memory of Bo and Michigan Football, even though she was never married to Bo when he was at UM. Millie was a wonderful lady, beloved across the university for things just like this. Great to see her again.
I was at U-M when this happened. They had a big 100-year celebration at Crisler, and Millie (or someone) selected one player from each decade to speak at the ceremony, going all the way back to the 1930s.
The great Willis Ward was the player selected from the 1930s to speak. If Dr. Sap has any video of the ceremony itself - especially Willis - that would be beyond awesome.
The evolution of the uniforms was especially interesting.
