I think Missouri would be a nice fit for the B1G. I don't know enough about how the academic programs interact, but the Men's Basketball, Football, and Baseball programs all look like a good fit.

What's the basis for opposition?  Proximity?

but this is how I (with relatively little conference knowledge outside the B1G) could see this shaking out:

Assuming Mizzou jumps to the SEC instead of the B1G, I could see Kansas and K-State coming to the B1G (Kansas b-ball in the B1G? Personally, I think it would rock, but I'm not a roundballer, either).  Part of me was thinking ISU, too, which then leaves a spot for ND.

But assuming ND doesn't get shaken by the complete dissolution of one or more conferences (The World's Leader is hearing rumblings of an ACC collapse and Big East expansion to as many as 22 (!) teams), then maybe poach Pitt and Rutgers to get more East Coast cache and leave ISU to the MWC or WAC, along with whatever Big 12 teams don't want to hang with Texas and whatever alterna-conference they come up with.

Of course, this is all idle pudpulling, as Clemson, FSU, and Mizzou have yet to admit to SEC discussions.
