In a re-match of last year's NCAA SB Regional Final, we got revenge 3-0 against #22 Kentucky. We scored all of our runs in the 3nd inning. Haylie walked and Crummy was pr. Lauren Sac bunt her over to 2nd for the first out. Amy punched one up the middle and Crummy took third. Amy then stole 2nd. Stephanie K doubled down the lf line scoring both Crummy and Amy. Lindsay singled and this pushed Stephanie to third. Bree popped to ss for the 2nd out. Lindsay stole 2nd and the catcher over threw the bag. Crummy scored and Lindsay took third. Colie struck out for the 3rd out.
Today was a big test for us coming off yesterday's loss to Maryland. We came up big when we needed to. Hayle pitched all 6 innings for the shutout and scattered 6 hits. She struck out 3 and walked no one although she had 2 hbp.
Great job ladies on a hard-fought win. This avenges the loss to Ky last year and Md yesterday. Coach Hutch mixed it up very nicely today. She put Ashley at 1b and had the girls manufacture runs when we needed them.
We play Florida Atlantic later today. The schedule says 6pm put the tournament is behind by an hour or two.
The Michigan Softball team won again today by defeating Tulsa 4-3. Hutch gave the ball to Stephanie Speierman. She struggled early and gave up 3 ER on 6 hits, while having 3 Ks and 1 BB. She pitched 4.2 Innings. Jordan Taylor pitched 2.1 innings in relief. She faced 9 batters, with 0 runs, 4Ks, 2 hits, 0 BB.
The offense was led by Amanda Chidester going 1-2 (double) and knocking in 2. Stephanie Kirkpatrick had a single and an RBI.
We play again today (19FEB11) at 1pm against #26 UMass.
