Nik Stauskas is not just a shooter
Not football related, so if this is inappropriate - mods please feel free to destroy this thread. Just needed something else to occupy my time besides
FIRE BRANDON! FIREHOKE!!! BURN IT DOWN!!! Michigan Football.
Nik Stauska seems to be doing pretty well in the preseason, but he recently made waves by saying:
“I understand that I’m a rookie and I’m white, so people are going to attack me at all times,”
This seems to follow the theme that Nik is "just a shooter" and not much else.
While the article speaks to Nik's defensive deficiencies - they also highlight the truth of Stauskas' statement:
From playgrounds through AAU to the NBA, "Everybody wanted to play the white kid" has been an understood and unspoken truth for long enough that the only really surprising part about this is that Stauskas actually said it.
Nik Stauskas. Keepin' it real.
Yahoo has a mock draft out already after the NBA lottery last night. I know a million of these are put out and it's all just speculation, but it gives us something to talk about/debate.
This mock draft has Stauskas going to the Suns at 14 and McGary going to the Spurs at 30.
I think both of these picks would be great fits for them. The Suns love to score and adding an elite shooter who can create his own shots will only make them more dangerous. And thinking back to the NCAA tournament with McGary and Burke running the pick and roll to perfection, I also think that is a great fit for McGary at San Antonio running a similar style of offense with Tony Parker. He can learn from arguably the greatest 4 man to play the game in Tim Duncan and grow into a good NBA player.
No love for Robinson?
He might not be just a shooter...
Nik's been working hard in the gym this summer. He's gained 15+ lbs and 6" vertical. Now up to 38" vertical.
