the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

OT - Fantasy Football Gloating / Dejection Thread
I'm sure a lot of people just had the championship for their fantasy teams this week. Since the board is going to be quiet, how did you do? What was your greatest triumph? Biggest mistake? etc.
This is the first year I won my league, hence making this thread to gloat, but I also want wisdom for next year.
The Core of my team (12 team league):
-Megatron - 1st Round
-AJ Green - 2nd Round
-AP / Matt Ryan - 3rd/4th Round (I forget which right now)
-Shonne Gree and James Jones were my main 2nd RB and 3rd WR
Way OT: Fantasy football team names?
Help me with my NCAA fantasy football draft
I'm doing a Fantasy Football draft right now for my NFL auction/keeper league. Basically, every year we do a two round NCAA draft and you get that players rights when/if they go to the NFL.
Some players of note taken last year still in college:
RB Knile Davis, ARK
QB Matt Barkley, USC
RB Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina (I own his rights)
QB Landry Jones, OKL
RB Malcolm Brown, TEX
QB Denard Robinson, MICH
I hold the 8th and 9th pick in the draft. I tend to favour WR becuase they seem easier to project to the next level, but if a real playmaking RB is there I would consider them. I would not consider a QB with either pick. So far the draft has gone as follows:
1. WR Robert Woods, USC
2. RB Montee Ball, WISC
3. WR Keenan Allen, CAL
4. WR Sammy Watkins, CLEM
5. WR Marquess Wilson, WASH ST
EDIT: 6. WR Marquis Lee, USC
I'm coming up at 8 and 9, who should I look at? Here are the three I'm considering as of now:
RB DeAnthony Thomas ORE
WR Marquis Lee USC
WR Dorial Green-Beckham MISSOURI
Black mamba I see being a Percy Harvin type at the NFL level. Lee looks to be a stud. DGB, I have to grab now because after this year he will likely be the first pick in this draft next year and I think he has the highest ceiling.
What say you MGoBoard? Anyone else I should consider?
Another MGoBlog Fantasy Football League
I am interested in making a MGoBlog fantasy football league on ESPN for those of you who missed the first one. Comment with you email and I'll send you an invite.
OT: Unofficial MGoBlog Fantasy Football league now accepting applications!
Alright everyone...
With all the interest in having an MGoBlog fantasy football league, I decided to set one up that anyone here can join. There are some rules though:
- Your team name must be funny and include the name of a current or former Michigan Wolverine football player.
- You will not pay a fee to enter. This is only for fun.
- This is in no way an MGoBlog officially-sponsored league.
Here's the deal...if you wish to join, you will type your email address in a reply below and I will send the league invite to that email address. This way, I can keep out trolls and others who I think may be a problem within the league. I run the league, I make the rules. And don't worry, I've been a commissioner in 20+ leagues over the years, so I know kinda what I'm doing. Additionally, I will be doing a weekly feature on the league homepage of that week's "best matchup." You'll enjoy it.
Here are some of the basic settings and scoring setups for the league:
- Live online draft on Tuesday, September 7th at 9pm EST
- QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN
- Normal Yahoo scoring PLUS bonuses for receiving, rushing and passing yards
- Fractional points will be used
- 8-team playoff in Weeks 15, 16 and 17
- Negative points for short missed field goals
- Head-to-head style of play
- 12 teams maximum
- One-third league vote to override pending trade
- 1-day waiver timeframe
If you have any other questions, ask away! I can't wait for college football season to start, but I love me some fantasy football too!
OT - Eli Manning or Stafford?
Question: With Brady having a bye this week, do I play Eli @ Philly or Stafford vs. the lowly Rams. I don't know for certain if Stafford will start... Thanks for your opinion!
