well that's just, like, your opinion, man
Happy to unveil some new designs for the MGoStore? Pretty ashamed to have them within earshot of anything involving Jerry Sandusky?
Yep, that's me.
I just think it's appropriate to distance them from all of... that. So please feel free to steer any conversation, questions, and commentary about the new shirts here.
Below is Brian's write-up from the front page concerning the new designs:
Forget with consumption. Now that we've talked about horrible crimes you're probably in the mood to buy a shirt. I know I am. You are in luck, as three fabulous options have been added to the MGoStore:
I find it odd that people want to commemorate a concept that means Michigan's quarterback is throwing the ball five feet over his receivers' heads, but commemorate away. Also I'm going to pitch Underground that all MGoShirts should feature someone pointing at something.
There is nothing more that's needed to be said, right?
Things that point at things are awesome.
Jason Avant just called me and ordered fifteen of these. Srsly.
These are simple, fun, lighthearted fare. And they just don't seem to fit in with a story like that. I'm sure you can't blame a guy for wanting to display these independent of the whole PSU thing, right?
Thanks again everybody and GO BLUE
I hate to see him go this way, if the previous posts are true.
Maybe we can have a MgoBlog poll.
Notice I didn't mention RR....oops...just did. Well we know that ain't happening.
I say Urban Meyer.
Pete THamel of the New York Times just tweeted that Joe Pa will not coach next season.
Bloomberg is reporting that Penn State cancelled the weekly news conference with Joe Paterno. PSU told reporters that no questions on the case would be allowed, but they then cancelled it an hour before it was to start.
Michigan Monday is up at the Ozone. Not going to quote much, as the Iowa loss is too depressing, and so is reading about it.
One observation made was the prediction of a victory at Illinois:
Winning out certainly seems daunting. For some reason, however, I'm pretty confident in a Michigan win over Illinois right now. I can't imagine a bye week for Ron Zook is actually a good thing for the Illini.
I am very interested to see how Michigan responds to their loss, and tend to agree that Hoke, Mattison, and Borges will have their team up, ready to go, and destroy Illinois. I still believe that Nebraska and Ohio are winnable games, and don't think winning out is unthinkable. I would be ecstatic to beat Illinois and Ohio. One comment made elsewhere is that Michigan needs a signature win, and I agree. It is critical to win at least one of our last two games, preferably both, and most preferably against Ohio.
...in Happy Valley. #4 Michigan destroys #3 Penn State by a final score of 34-8.
The current PSU scandal and all those involved were a part of this game. Jerry Sandusky was still on the sideline watching his defense get shredded. Once Michigan went up 31-0 in the 3rd quarter, the camera showed Sandusky staring off into space and Bob Griese made a point of saying, "Jerry Sandusky cannot believe this."
A quote from Penn State quarterback Mike McQueary before the game:
"We've played tougher games in the 4th quarter than Michigan and that will probably be the difference. We're Penn State and we're not the kind of team that shies away from a particular player like Charles Woodson. We'll go right at him. We'll be careful with the ball and know what he can do. He's a great athlete and a great corner, but certainly, we're going to be a big challenge for him."
