How weird is it that the last Michigan team to beat a top-10 AP ranked team was... the 3-9 team from 2008? Beat #9 Wisconsin 27-25. Let's reset that on Saturday.
Somewhere I'm hearing Gary Danielson snidely saying something about the current "leader" in the Leader division or making a joke that Indiana is the last Leader.
I would prefer East/West or North/South, knowing that it can't be perfect geographically. But since we're already taking a leap by calling a conference with 12 teams the Big 10, I'm not going too worried if Wisconsin has to play in the East division. Trying to get cutesy with Legends/Leaders or some other combination of titles that have no bearing at all to the schools involved is just asking for ridicule.
Pretty sure it was Clarence Williams as HB on that 1998 team, not the esteemed Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Although that would have been fun to watch.
The rest of it was spot-on - thanks for all the research!
I mean, you root for you root for. Is someone less of a fan because they did not attend Michigan? Or if they didn't start rooting for Michigan until they started school in AA?
And for good measure, Stewart Mandel is an idiot. I'll never forget when he picked MSU over Michigan as his Upset of the Week...when State was favored by 4.
by 3 1/2. Not sure if the MICH actually stands for Michigan or Michigan State, but State's pretty much a consensus 3-3.5 point favorite on most betting sites.
Agreed. I'm hoping they put him in a Kyle Orton-type situation from a couple of years ago (some would argue still) - do enough to "manage the game" and don't make any crippling mistakes while he gets his feet wet in the NFL.
1 - Iowa - beat Top 5 opponent on road
2 - Ohio St - lost to Top 5 opponent at home
3 - Penn St - still think this is a better team than Mich, defense did its part against Iowa
4 - Michigan - 4-0, scares against ND and Indiana at home
5 - Wisconsin - NUM NUM CUPCAKES
6 - Indiana - 3-1, nice showing against UM on road
7 - Minny - hey, no MAC losses!
8 - Northwestern - loss to Syracuse, close call against EMU
9 - Sparty - 3-loss team - still better than Illini or Boilers
10 - Purdue - weird team, 2 close losses at OR and to ND, NIU abomination
11 - Illinois - God-awful. What have they done to Juice Williams?
I also live too far away and haven't really seen many games. What are their chances if and when they make the playoffs? It seems like they're kind of fading down the stretch - do they have the firepower to hang with the Yankees in the first round?

Wondered why he was still on the board. I figured he was at least a 6th round pick.
You know Bobby Petrino's name is on some whiteboard in East Lansing just waiting to be called.

I'm surprised it wasn't our football team cited for "secondary" violations.

At least the last one was semi-creative with the hidden 11. This just sucks.
Less charismatic than Stalin
Fin
he played in Auburn, Michigan, or Northwestern's offense. He'd be on his 3rd Heisman by now.
the original thinking in "home pictures." I feel cheated now.
of whatever this guy's drinking.
+1, my friend.
It's awesome to win despite this, but man. We need to be more careful with the ball. Or force more on the D side of the ball.
why, hello there unopened bottle of jack

Isn't this thread off topic?
Once they get rid of Willingham's players, these guys are national championship bound!

DENAAAAAAAARD!!!!!
Does anyone else think that Jacory Harris is overrated just because announcers like saying his name over and over and over?
Also, it's nice to see the hard evidence of MSU's suckitude over the past 10 years.
