It's probably worse for the West division than for the East but it increases the chances of another L on the schedule (assuming you are still scheduling 1 quality out of conference game already).  If we go 10-2 with the second loss as a 5th conference away game at Iowa you may not think the nine game schedule is such a good idea, at least while other conferences are choosing to play 8.

I have to disagree with the posters recommending to get a new puppy ASAP.  If it works that is great, but making a decision based on emotion usually leads to trouble (or bad decisions).  Our boys were together for 12 years and it took a couple weeks for our younger dog to get into a new routine, one that he is currently thriving in.  I will wait until he has passed before we consider adding a new dog to the household.  If your younger dog is actually young, then wait a few months for the emotions to settle down then decide if the timing is right.  In our case our "younger" dog is actually pretty old so it didn't seem fair to introduce a new dog into his life during his twilight years.

06/02/2018 - 10:07am The regents still have to

The regents still have to approve any deal that the AD negotiates, right?  So just asking might not be the most effective way to fast track any raises for his assistants, this however would probably get their attention.

Has anyone played the course or know much about it? I honestly didnt know it existed and play a fair amount although not in the metro Detroit area.

I'm not sure we understand "shady" the way you do.  Offering both twins is closer to "shady" than offering just the one and even that isn't shady.  Just because they are twins it doesn't mean they are at the same place athletically or as football players.

I have issues with those stats though. Their per carry rushing stats are basically team rushing averages, of course those would be similar. I'd like to see number of carries, that would tell a better story of who is getting the bulk of those yards. And the draft position for super bowl running backs is misleading when two undrafted guys played on two teams that won 7 of those championships. what is the draft position of the last 15 QB Superbowl champions? It's honestly not going to look much different yet they are arguing drafting a QB early makes more sense than drafting a running back.  I get that Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson didn't win Super Bowls but I'm don't think drafting those guys was the reason their teams were unsuccessful.  The Patriots model is great, based on results it obviously works but that kind of all hinges on finding a Hall of Fame QB.

The offensive line.  But I have unrealistically high hopes for them as well for some reason.  Outside of that question mark this should be one of the most talented teams we've fielded in a long time.

Right, but if you are a former coach, parent or whatever you aren't helping the kid here.  You help the kid by supporting and encouraging him and then having a conversation with the staff if you really think it is necessary.  How does his twitter rant further that purpose?  It doesn't, it furthers his own selfish agenda.

Coach has the passive-aggressive game down cold.  Bonus points for using "interesting" multiple times.  I'd probably have more respect if he just said what he actually thinks and even more respect if he would address his concerns to the coaching staff instead of this crap.

Graham Couch will write whatever he believes his readers want to hear. If they want to hear that MSU is primed for a final four run, he'll write that article. If they want to hear the Dantonio and Izzo are upright citizens he'll write that. He would only pen this column if he felt that the slappies were getting uncomfortable with the current landscape.

Hopefully Teske is lethal with his mid range jumper next year.  If Moe leaves it is going to be rough not having 5 guys on the floor to stretch the defense and his absense will make it harder for other guys to get good looks.

Listening to his interview after the game was an eye opener. I almost believe he enjoys coaching and teaching more than winning. I know I'm biased but it's awesome to see someone be successful while doing things the right way. And those kids are all better for having him as a mentor.

My glass half full take from last night was that Nova didn't seem to close out well on shooters and we're a bit sloppy getting over/under screens. Hopefully that little extra space allows our guys to go off from deep.

03/27/2018 - 9:44pm The best part is Speights stats his second year

The best part is Speights stats his second year here are better than Griese as a 5th year senior. Griese was a very good game manager. He did it well in college and he did it well enough to get multiple pro starts. I would take game very good game manager this year over two unproven back ups.

Sure but what if we gave more points for a basket based based on degree of difficulty (three point line is a physical objective standard)? Or for a difficult touchdown catch? I understand how scoring works in most sports, but I doubt anyone on here can explain how to keep track of scoring in figure skating.

They had 18 years of learning right and wrong before college ball. If you recruit kids who may not have had the best guidance growing up you are rolling the dice because 4 years probably isn't going to reshape their moral compass, at least not entirely. If you bring on guys like that you probably have to take a zero tolerance policy from the onset and that doesn't seem to have happened.

I posted below and agree with a lot of your points. But I don't think fans are good at taking a step back and really examining this honestly. We think Harbaugh having sleepovers is awesome and our rivals think it's creepy. The people closest and most invested in the program are the least likely to say "this doesn't seem like a good idea". All of states issues have forced supporters to take a step back and reassess.

+1,000,000. Real parents will defend their children despite all the evidence against them and use all of their power to keep them out of trouble. Izzo has become a surrogate to so many of his players, I actually think his affection for them made him unable to see when he crossed the line for right and wrong. I personally don't think he covered up their mistakes to win games, I think he did it because he thought he was helping people close to him. Question as a coach and parent is do you "discipline internally" when the transgressions are minor or seemingly victimless or does this open the door for moralization of larger wrongs?
