12/14/2018 - 10:23am You sparked my curiosity…

You sparked my curiosity with South Dakota State/Savannah State so I looked it up.

SD State made 23 three pointers, was 53 of 87 shooting (both school records) and the halftime score was 90-33.  Woof.

12/14/2018 - 10:09am Indeed.  And this scheduling…

Indeed.  And this scheduling was done before Beilein, even when we weren't good enough to beat those extra cupcake-cupcakes during the holiday season.

It's just common sense.  It would have been a dick move to have that North Carolina game on December 28th.

12/09/2018 - 1:48pm This kind of reminds me of… This kind of reminds me of USC. Before Pete Carroll arrived, the Trojans were so awful they were openly mocked in the media, often referred to as SC Community College. Once Carroll arrived, it took just one year to go from unranked to the top 5 and then national title contention every year after. You couldn't help but raise an eyebrow over how quickly this happened. We know how that eventually turned out. There's no way in hell Alabama is on the up and up here either. And that's concerning because their success has been even more dominant and this repeated script got old years ago. Your football juices are burning in late August and then you watch Alabama in week one and you already know at that moment they're going all the way. Alabama has sucked a ton of fun out of college football as a whole. And Saban is so beloved by every aspect of the media that I'm sure they would assist Bama in hiding the bodies before they would ever have another Pete Carroll fallout.
12/04/2018 - 11:23pm I've grown a strong hatred… I've grown a strong hatred towards Northwestern basketball the last three years. So I'm taking this win and being happy despite its many flaws. I hate how those guys become a whole different team when they go up against us. They need to do that when they play that OTHER school from the state of Michigan. Get your damn priorities straight. This middle finger is for you, Northwestern. And I hope this one really hurts. Go blue.
12/04/2018 - 10:23am I hate to bring this up but…

I hate to bring this up but...

*Three years ago when we traveled to Northwestern, we lost in double overtime.  There were 5 separate times I thought we had the win wrapped up and then every 3 point prayer NU threw up somehow went in over and over and over. It was maddening.

*Two years ago when we traveled to Northwestern, Irvin's attempted game winner was way off, NU goes coast to coast in 2 seconds and get the buzzer beater...ESPN has a clip they show ENDLESSLY for the rest of the year.

*Last year when we traveled to Northwestern, there was no miracles for once, but still a loss.  The game at Crisler was ugly and uninspired.  This one was just...stupid.

It's because of these games that I have grown a hatred towards Northwestern basketball and I'm not thrilled over the thought of playing there, all this in spite of the fact of how great our guys have looked so far.

12/01/2018 - 8:22pm Team is playing amazing. … Team is playing amazing. Really makes me want to go to a game. But I banned myself from Crisler four years ago after I took notice of my 1-7 record in that building. They're playing too well for me to risk it.
12/01/2018 - 7:45pm Fucking Alabama.  Watching…

Fucking Alabama.  Watching them is like watching a billionaire win the Publusher’s Clearinghouse.

11/29/2018 - 11:25am (No subject)

11/29/2018 - 10:20am ...thanks to bad officiating…

...thanks to bad officiating.

11/29/2018 - 9:38am I still can't stop smiling. …

I still can't stop smiling.  I despise North Carolina as much as I despise Duke.

In the back of my head, I kept thinking this was going to be like the OT loss to Kansas at Crisler a few years back or the game against #1 Arizona when Mitch Mcgary was called for a phantom foul allowing the Wildcats to shoot the game winning free throws with 1 second left.  Fight back enough to just barely lose and get an A for effort.  This was NOT how I expected this game to turn out.

That 17-2 run after North Carolina was draining every shot they took was absolutely huge.  I'm going to be watching the highlights of this one endlessly.

11/29/2018 - 9:25am I was pretty devastated when…

I was pretty devastated when I found out Dickie V was calling our game.  The amount of orgasms he has over North Carolina and Duke year after year is astounding.

And screw him for bringing up the Ohio State football game 3 separate times.  And screw him for getting the jollies of Notre Dame football at the end of the game.

I'm sooooooo happy about the result but Dickie V needs to stay at the Dean Center and Cameron Indoor where his maximum excitement can flourish with everyone else.

11/20/2018 - 11:51am Fair points.

As Homer…

Fair points.

As Homer Simpson said, "Your views intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter."

11/20/2018 - 11:23am You're being overly generous…

You're being overly generous towards that ugly giant erector set of a stadium.

11/20/2018 - 11:20am UCLA took advantage of the…

UCLA took advantage of the rivalry when USC sucked in the 90's but couldn't get the program going except for the few years they had Cade McNoun.  They were a last second field goal away from playing our 97 national champ team in the Rose Bowl.

But you're still right.  USC has had so many down periods outside of Pete Carroll getting the best players money could buy.  UCLA has done nothing to take advantage of this.

11/19/2018 - 3:58pm Sigh

Henson 14/25 for 303…
Sigh Henson 14/25 for 303 yards, 3 passing touchdowns and running the naked bootleg in. That was some massive porn.
11/19/2018 - 3:51pm The people who he made up in… The people who he made up in his head to prove his point?
11/19/2018 - 2:09pm I guess I can't lose sleep…

I guess I can't lose sleep over this.  Because every scenario in my head always lands with OSU reaping the benefits of the best case scenario going in to this game.  That's what happens when you're dead inside after seeing the same evil force NEVER come down to Earth.

11/18/2018 - 9:00am Doug Karsch brought that up… Doug Karsch brought that up to Brandy on the radio. He was dumbfounded that the refs were taking so long to confirm the targeting.
11/17/2018 - 4:08pm Look at those empty seats. …

Look at those empty seats.  Way to represent, students.

11/17/2018 - 4:05pm Fucking lucky assholes.  He…

Fucking lucky assholes.  He was wide open!!!!!!!

OSU has more lives than 500 cats.

11/17/2018 - 3:48pm Listen to these announcers…

Listen to these announcers slobbering over OSU as if they were up four touchdowns right now.

11/17/2018 - 3:27pm Maryland will have to settle…

Maryland will have to settle for a FG, OSU will Drive the field in two plays and win it.  Assholes.

11/17/2018 - 2:38pm Maryland’s offense hasn’t…

Maryland’s offense hasn’t done anything in the second half.  That makes the inevitable OSU comeback more likely.

11/17/2018 - 2:24pm That’s the third time the…

That’s the third time the announcers have mentioned the team looking ahead to next week as to why they’re struggling today.

What's their excuse for OSU during the other weeks?

11/17/2018 - 1:45pm Michigan basketball wins 84… Michigan basketball wins 84-61.
11/17/2018 - 1:34pm O.K., I have to ask. If a… O.K., I have to ask. If a Buckeye player threw his mouth piece in disgust, would that still get flagged?
11/17/2018 - 1:27pm Michigan basketball up 71-41… Michigan basketball up 71-41 with 9 minutes left, in case anyone was curious.
11/17/2018 - 1:25pm Good job, dumbass. Slam the… Good job, dumbass. Slam the player to the ground when you're 10 feet out of bounds.
11/17/2018 - 1:11pm Alabama up just 10-7 on the… Alabama up just 10-7 on the Citadel at halftime means the media will have 10 orgasms over them instead of 50 this week.
11/17/2018 - 12:53pm This is RichRod defense. Did… This is RichRod defense. Did they hire Greg Robinson?
11/17/2018 - 12:52pm I remember Biakabutuka… I remember Biakabutuka running through Buckeyes holes like that. Sigh.
11/17/2018 - 12:40pm Wide open. THAT should have… Wide open. THAT should have been Maryland's third touchdown.
11/17/2018 - 12:30pm Nebraska's defense blows. … Nebraska's defense blows. They may make Sparty's offense look functional.
11/17/2018 - 12:24pm On one hand, I'm laughing. … On one hand, I'm laughing. On the other, I'm seething because this won't be the OSU team we see next week.
11/17/2018 - 12:22pm Holy shit, Buckeyes! Holy shit, Buckeyes!
11/17/2018 - 12:21pm Nervous. Please knock on… Nervous. Please knock on wood.
11/17/2018 - 12:12pm Well, that would have been… Well, that would have been something to see Maryland up 14-0 in the first minute of the game.
11/17/2018 - 12:10pm I missed it. How did they… I missed it. How did they score?
11/16/2018 - 2:02pm Notre Dame will win,…

Notre Dame will win, unfortunately.  Hope I'm wrong.

11/16/2018 - 1:22pm I'm sure they'll mention Ron…

I'm sure they'll mention Ron Johnson at the game tomorrow.  I would be shocked if they didn't.

That was the last game on natural grass at the big house until it came back in 1991.  When Bo arrived, he wanted astroturf because he figured the players would be faster on it.

And look at the design of the north end zone!  A little block M in the center with stripes.  Were they going for the winged helmet look?

11/16/2018 - 12:00pm I was born 3 months after…

I was born 3 months after this game was played.  Wish I could hop in a time machine and see this play in person.

This was the game WTKA played on the radio for the bye week a couple weeks ago.  I was listening to Ufer's commentary in the third quarter and he mentions how weird and eccentric Lee Corso is.  Got a good laugh out of that.

11/16/2018 - 9:28am Indeed.  Although the option…

Indeed.  Although the option offense didn't completely go away as Steve Smith, Michael Taylor and even Harbaugh would run it from time to time despite having the likes of Carter, Kolesar, McMurty and Calloway to throw to.

11/16/2018 - 9:00am Pulling a Biakabatuka.  Man,…

Pulling a Biakabatuka.  Man, that was so fun...

11/16/2018 - 8:55am Random observation.  Every…

Random observation.  Every time I look at those highlights, I'm always amazed how none of the players do any celebrating after scores.  #70 pats Harmon on the back but otherwise, there's nothing.  Nobody runs to mob him in the end zone, nobody claps, nobody even raises their arms.  It's so weird.

Was it considered uncouth to celebrate a touchdown in the 1940's?

11/15/2018 - 1:57pm Love the addition of the…

Love the addition of the Villanova game.

11/15/2018 - 11:48am Yeesh.  We were down 7-6 in…

Yeesh.  We were down 7-6 in the third quarter IN the Big House two years ago.  The main thing I remembered about that game was the players doing snow angels on the field after it finished.  The rest I kind of blocked out.

It's time to FINALLY have a stress free game against Indiana.

11/14/2018 - 9:57pm I am very happy right now. I am very happy right now.
11/14/2018 - 9:11pm Holy crap. And to think I… Holy crap. And to think I was dreading this game. Never have I been THIS happy to be wrong.
11/14/2018 - 2:07pm I was in such misery over…

I was in such misery over where we were going with Brady Hoke that I never even noticed this score until looooong after it was played.

11/14/2018 - 1:40pm Michael Spath was just…

Michael Spath was just talking about this on the radio and he said Alabama started this trend several years ago.  I did some research and found out that Florida actually started this trend in 2006 when Urban Meyer was there.  They played Western Carolina the week before their game with the Noles and have played the likes of Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Furman, App State, Jacksonville State, Georgia Southern and Eastern Kentucky ever since.

In 2009, Alabama started doing this in Nick Saban's second year.  They've played Tennessee Chattanooga 3 times, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Western Carolina, Charleston Southern and Mercer.

Eventually Auburn, Georgia and LSU followed this trend.

They've basically created bye weeks for themselves the week before their biggest game.  I wish we had that luxury.  But I think Big Ten schedules are set for the next several years.
