CJ Baird not looking too shabby either

06/10/2018 - 10:41pm Erik Larson has long been…

Erik Larson has long been one of my favorite authors - Devil in the White City was one of my favorite's. I also enjoyed Thunderstruck and Isaac's Storm quite a bit.

I'll have to pick up one of his other books in the near future.

06/07/2018 - 7:40pm O'Maury Samuels would be…

O'Maury Samuels would be next on the list in terms of carries from last year - Kurt Taylor also comes off of a redshirt year, but who knows.

Interesting that it applies only to comments - seems that the OP cannot be voted on

No - the hockey game is at Notre Dame stadium. I beleive it coincides with Blackhawks-Bruins game which is also being played at ND.

05/29/2018 - 9:55am Not sure what world this

Not sure what world this makes sense in...Soldier Field capacity is barely over 60k. Unless they were to move both games (unless this is a yet to be scheduled game) - can't see either school agreeing to it.

05/21/2018 - 11:17am I just read up on it some

I just read up on it some more - but the Day Zero doesn't necessarily mean they would be at no water, just that city water supplies would be shut off and people would have to go to specified sites to collect their daily 25L rations. In any case - they've enforced some conservation practices/limits already as you noted - and have also made efforts to repair some infrastructure (i.e. fixing leaks) to reduce waste.

05/21/2018 - 11:12am Hard to say - they were

Hard to say - they were supposed to be out this year in Cape Town, but the date when they expect to hit "Day Zero" has been pushed out several times (think the latest update has it pushed all the way to 2019). Ultimately it depends how much rain they get - the city has been impacted by a several years long drought which has depleted resevoirs to less than 20% of total capacity.

05/15/2018 - 2:25pm Unless that's a recent change

Unless that's a recent change - I think baseball allows suspensions to be served while on the DL.

This would prevent him from playing in the postseason though - if the team actually makes it. It wouldn't matter if the 80 games had already been served or not.

Related question would be how many actually had the option to return (i.e non-seniors, did not hire an agent).

Wasn't the number Freeze was calling a Detroit (or Michigan) area code? Seems to have connections there already.

Not quite - he's not on scholarship so that wouldn't change.

Joey Dosik isn't actually a member of Vulfpeck - just a frequent collaborator (sax, keys, and vocals)...but given how much he tours/performs with them, he might as well be (ditto for Cory Wong and Antwaun Stanley).

This is pretty cool...love the alternate angles/bench reaction starting around the ~30 second mark

03/19/2018 - 2:05pm Beilein talked about it on

Beilein talked about it on Rich Eisen's show the week after the Big Ten Championship - he basically said exactly what you are mentioning about the mutual interest, if a kid has you in his top 2-3 and has reached out, attended camps, etc. you keep recruiting him. If he's got you on his top 10 or 12 - Beilein is saying see you later. He specifically mentioned McGary as someone who was super excited to have an opportunity to play at Michigan - and as a result he was someone he recruited.

Pretty much...same reason Qatar will have a team in the World Cup in a few years

They also had Denard that year...so I would take the 230 rushing yards credited to the O-line with a grain of salt

12/05/2017 - 2:11pm Weren't many Russian athletes

Weren't many Russian athletes also banned from the Summer Olympics in 2016?

11/28/2017 - 6:45pm I managed to do a Master's in

I managed to do a Master's in a year but was also able to count some coursework completed during undergrad towards my graduate degree - so a 30 credit requirement became something like 18 additional credits required. This was all done at Michigan so that made it easier to transfer credits...I doubt it would have happened if I moved to another school.

That being said - there's been some influx of graduate programs in recent years which are meant to be completed in a year - I think many schools have recognized that potential students are unwilling or unable to delay earning income for 2+ years. I imagine that presents some possible options for grad transfers which might not have existed 5-10 years ago.

Let's ask Cowherd.

11/13/2017 - 10:16am Looks like Devlin and Dorsett

Looks like Devlin and Dorsett registered in the box score from yesterday with a couple receptions each - so definitely not out of the question.

11/13/2017 - 1:28am Curious if he could actually

Curious if he could actually tie/break that record this year - between special teamers on the roster and the RB rotation, I'm sure there's at least a few players who have yet to catch a touchdown from him

I was watching the game with some Purdue fsns and they made a similar observation with regards to lack of program knowledge. As soon as he started saying that he's surprised that Purdue made a QB change...their response was, that's literally what they do every single game, sometimes multiple times.

Looks like there is plenty of clothes in there for him to change

09/12/2017 - 8:56pm Wasn't there something

Wasn't there something similar after their playoff loss last season?

09/05/2017 - 5:32pm I grew up rooting for Purdue

I grew up rooting for Purdue since a number of family members including my dad went there - this was around the early Joe Tiller days when Drew Brees/Kyle Orton were the QBs, so not the worst time to be a fan.

Haven't really followed them from the time I arrived at Michigan though apart from periodically checking a box score or catching part of a game if my dad's watching.

RDT...is that you?

09/05/2017 - 11:45am Carolina seems to the obvious

Carolina seems to the obvious choice as many have noted...will be intersting to see what McCaffery can do for them.

I think the Chargers have an outside shot at improving as well. If I recall correctly, they lost several really close games last year - so if they find a way to close out several of those, a winning record is a possibility. Probably not enough to move past the Raiders (and maybe Chiefs) - but I wouldn't be surprised to see them snag the last playoff spot in the AFC.

04/13/2017 - 11:41pm Incredible work by the group

Incredible work by the group of students who designed and built it over the past 2 years or so. The posted links don't really showcase the complexity of the inner workings of the cube - but it's impressive what the team was able to come up with to make this thing fully functional. Some of the videos from the College of Engineering about the design process posted below.

03/29/2017 - 5:24pm Might want to read the column

Might want to read the column headers there.

NBA draft used to have more than 2 rounds, so 56-33 = 23 picks in rounds after the 2nd round.  33 includes the 24 in round 1, plus 9 additional 2nd rounders.

03/13/2017 - 3:45pm Simpson has defintely shown

Simpson has defintely shown flashes recently of what is to come - he had a few nice drives to the bucket that ended in points or kickouts for someone else to shoot during the BTT. Obviously a small sample size - but there's definitely potential there.

03/12/2017 - 9:59pm They do - Irvin and three

They do - Irvin and three Wisconsin guys round out the top 5  - link

All-Tournament Team
Zak Irvin, Michigan
Derrick Walton, Jr., Michigan
Ethan Happ, Wisconsin
Nigel Hayes, Wisconsin
Bronson Koenig, Wisconsin

Sort of makes sense that it's players from teams which played in the final - most others would have played only a game or two.

I think you can certainly make a case for DJ Wilson being on the list - otherwise don't see too much off about the list.

02/14/2017 - 1:59pm I enjoy driving - so fully

I enjoy driving - so fully autonomous wouldn't be my preference. That being said - I would want something autonomous for the commute to and from work, that way rather than staying in the office an extra hour to wrap stuff up and then driving an hour to get home, I would be able to use the commute time to do work (two birds with one stone)

02/06/2017 - 9:54am You are correct on the 3-2

You are correct on the 3-2 split between Dallas and SF, I had them flipped.

I never really followed the AFL before - but holy shit that league is a mess over the last several years, seems there are new franchises popping up each year as older ones dissolve.

Congrats to Gallon though - hoping his team and the league are around long enough for him to have an opportunity to make an impact.
