It's Coach K court in Durham…

It's Coach K court in Durham.  There are other examples.  But yeah, I'd generally agree with your point-- wait until they retire.

Technically, someone can tarnish/scandal/disgrace themselves after their career ends, too.  Or something can come out after they're dead, for that matter.  I don't think we have to worry about any of that with JB, though.

Sorry- Fishers Grille, 608 N…

Sorry- Fishers Grille, 608 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC, if you'd like an address all nice and handy.

For the Greensboro/Winston…

For the Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point (North Carolina) area, JP Looney's is closed, and the official meeting place for football watch parties is Fisher's Grille (Greensboro), NOT Flipflops.  Map needs some updating there.  Thanks!

Herm may be nuts, but it

Herm may be nuts, but it isn't because of his decision to coach ASU.  Y'all seen the girls they've got there?

FWIW, cutting the cord

FWIW, cutting the cord doesn't completely fix this problem in central NC.  It really makes no difference.  I have an antenna in Winston-Salem and pick up the local FOX affiliate.  It had an ACC game on this past weekend instead of MSU/OSU.  Likely to have the same problem this weekend.  Either way-- cord, or not, those of us in central NC will need to us the FOX Sports Go app to view the game this weekend (and quite possibly next weekend).  Which is goddamn ridiculous.

No, you don't get sent to

No, you don't get sent to collections in this scenario, because they simply shut off your access online.  It's happened for me a few times over the years with Scout (and Rivals, for that matter), and each time, I just can't use the site anymore.  No collections, no hassle.

FWIW, as another poster stated, the summer tends to be pretty dead from a recruiting standpoint.  Sam, unlike some of the insiders at some of the other sites, will intentionally hold things back if he thinks putting the information out would either a) harm his sources (and therefore, his access) or b) harm Michigan football generally (i.e., harm their competitive advantage).  He'll also let the kids have their moment when it comes to commitments, generally (if they want to have it).  He's the best in the biz, but if you want a slew of rumors and guesses, you're on the wrong "insider" site.

Each of those insider sites have their own pros and cons.  Scout and 247sports Michigan sites will merge in the next few months, which should really lead to a derth of information for those on those sites.

Minor point of contention in

Minor point of contention in the write up-- punt went off St. Juste's leg, not Nate Johnson's.

Solomon

Aubrey Solomon did play.  He was in at the end of the game right in the middle of the defensive line, after Hurst walked off gingerly.  He was in for at least a series, if not two.

If they did that, it'd be the

If they did that, it'd be the candy corn bowl.

Had two friends at U of M

Had two friends at U of M undergrad with me that were both MSU fans (and continue to be so to this day).  They went to UM because they were smart enough to and recognized the value of the degree at UM was higher than a degree at MSU.  Fandom stayed in EL, though.

Goes both ways.

Strong work actually paying

Strong work actually paying attention.

Pelfrey was the starting pitcher for the White Sox yesterday (and, of course, actually pitched pretty well).  Sanchez comes in as a reliever (mostly in games where we're already losing).

It isn't helping that Iglesia spent 7 days on the DL last week, Miggy is on the 10 day DL, and JD Martinez is still on the DL.  Upton also missed a few games a week back with a bruised wrist.  Jacoby Jones out with 9 stitches in his lip after he got drilled in the face by a pitch.  Lots of injuries hampering hitting and fielding.  They're constantly having to change their outfield line up and they're either playing Avila or Hicks at 1st (depending on whether opposing starting pitching is right or left).

If you stay up near your wife's head and focus on her (look her in the eyes a lot), you won't really see anything.  Only thing I saw was my daughter's head after she was half out.  And whatever was on her didn't gross me out (didn't even see it; all I could see was her).

I'm honestly surprised that

I'm honestly surprised that the prosecutor even decided to charge Lewis at all.  There's at least as much evidence that she may have intentionally hit him in the head with the door.  Why hasn't she been charge at all?  She initiated the fight?

Yep.  I said it to friends

Yep.  I said it to friends about 2 weeks ago that I felt awful for doubting Beilein in early January, and questioning whether it was time to go in a new direction.  Then after we beat Purdue in the B1G tourney following all the crazy stuff we had to deal with, I said I'll never doubt him again, no matter what.  That is the stance I am going to take from now on.

I shouldn't have doubted him.  I will not make that mistake again.  I atone for that mistake.

Don't have to fire him.

Don't have to fire him.  Pretty sure his contract is up after this season.  Can just elect not to give him a new contract.

Don't expect a Chelsea-like uptick, though.  Arsenal doesn't have the infrastructure set up.  AW literally does *everything* and management doesn't have a clue how to hire for anything else.  It's going to be a VERY ROUGH few years for Arsenal after AW departs.  And you can say good bye to Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil and probably others.

AW needs to go, I agree, but if that's what you want, you better be prepared for what's going to come in the short term.  And it's going to suck (unless you're a Spuds fan).

Mr. Pizza

Lived on Dewey my senior year.  Maybe 5 houses down from Packard, where Mr. Pizza was on the corner.  Large 1 topping carryout pizza was like $6.  Was perfect drunk food and the convenience couldn't be beat.  Played beer pong on the porch, ordered a large Mister over the phone, walked over there 10 minutes later, picked it up, and slammed it.  God I miss that collegiate metabolism.

Think ownership has changed hands several times since 2006 when I graduated, though and it's no longer "Mr. Pizza."

He got a Cleveland team a

He got a Cleveland team a championship by losing so much they had several 1st overall draft picks.  Lebron left.  Cleveland lost more and got Kyrie.  Then Lebron comes back when they get Wiggins, trade Wiggins for Love, and boom.  Couple moves after that and they're a title team.

Unfortunately, the Lions are equally bad at losing when they need to in order to get a better draft position.  So they doubly suck.

In college I stayed up all

In college I stayed up all night to write a paper (after getting up at 7am the previous day), then went to class, etc. all day, then went to a sorority date party the following night (finally went to bed around 3 or 330am).  So, I was up for about 44 hours (went to bed 3am).  That's probably my record, and I won't be (willingly) breaking it.

Was kinda fun at the date party- I was so tired and loopy that people thought I was drunk or stoned or both (I was neither).

While he didn't break any

While he didn't break any laws in Colorado, having the THC in his body upon entering Michigan, he technically would break the law (albeit he'd never be tested for it, other than as a student athlete).  Eventually it'd exit his system and he'd be clear.

Obviously this is all hypothetical, given Carlo Kemp has done no such thing.

Well, technically, I guess,

Didn't expect to see Peters rise up in there, but I'm postively shocked that Franks (Florida commit) stayed up at #57.  He was downright awful in the Army game.

Our first is coming up on a

Our first is coming up on a year.  The financial stuff, not going to give advice there other than the suggestion of opening a 529 plan as soon as you can after birth (i.e., after you get a social security # for the baby) and start contributing.  Also, life insurance and wills, at a minimum.

Books to read, classes to take?  The hospital our daughter was born at had classes leading up to our baby's birth.  They were relatively cheap ($25-$35 or so, with 3-4 total classes over a few months).  Very informative.  We also sought out a pediatrician ahead of time and they gave us a book that was very helpful for deciphering the first year.  Above all, though, as the father, you need to support your wife's desires/ideas/beliefs post delivery for a few months (crazy or not-- many of them will be.  She will be scared...no, terrified... in the first few months as she adjusts to taking care of a human life full time-- that terror will manifest in various ways).  And, as always, mom's instincts will rule the day-- trust them.  Try to enjoy the early months as much as you can-- they fly by.

As for the sleep suggestion-- you can't really bank sleep, so I've always found that suggestion to be dumb (no offense to whomever above suggested it).

Things to do before the baby comes: go to as many movies, concerts, and other things out and about that you can do that require a few hours without any interruption.  These will not be possible after the child (especially if your wife is like mine and doesn't want to leave the kid with anyone else for a long while.  It was 10 months before at least one of the two of us was not in the same house as the baby).

Otherwise, like I said before-- enjoy every minute.  It flies by very quickly.

Mahrez is even more of a

Mahrez is even more of a revelation than Vardy, IMO.  He's also going to be getting a huge contract in Europe somewhere.  Unreal ball skills and quickness, combined with a stellar left foot.

Arsenal is right there, though.  And not going anywhere (despite injuries at various times to Walcott, Ramsey, Sanchez, Coquelin, Cazorla and a number of defenders).  Ozil has an obscene number of assists (2 goals, 12 assists in last 10 games or something like that).

This could also explain why

This could also explain why Gardner regressed, instead of "the coaches made him regress!".......

The offense sputtered under Hoke, we get it.  However, on the same token, if it weren't for Hoke's dogged recruiting of defensive linemen, we wouldn't have had the depth at the position we do, and we would have been flat f*cked the past few weeks.  Instead, both good depth, good players, and good coaching let to generally good performances, IU excepted.  All for criticizing Hoke and Co on the offensive side of the ball, but if you're going to do that, you damn well better give him credit for what he did well.

Depending on health/ability

Depending on health/ability of your grandfather, you may be able to contact the ticket office and request handicap seats.  It would make it easier to get into/exit the stadium.  I was able to do this when I was on crutches (ACL tear).  They had me mail in my tickets with a letter and then I was able to pick up new tickets at will call on day of (they would have mailed them to me, I think, but I declined).  Was able to comfortably sit in the handicap level.

Saw other comments about shuttles- can also second those.  A golf cart shuttle (twice!) saw me hobbling around outside of the stadium, offered me a ride, took me to will call on the other side of Crisler, and then took me to a friend's tailgate on the other end of the parking lot.  They're very helpful.

I'm having a really hard time deciding between Elvis Grbac, Denard, and Harbaugh... Soooo one of those three.

Greg Olsen or Antonio

Greg Olsen or Antonio Gates?

Leaning towards Olsen, because he's the Panthers entire pass offense and Packers TE defense isn't stellar...

But then again Gates is going to get lots of looks on Monday night with Keenan Allen and Ladarius Green out (but he's also dealing with knee soreness and Bears TE defense has been pretty good).

Let's be honest and call Pete

Let's be honest and call Pete Carroll's departure what it was- he bailed because he didn't want to deal with what the NCAA was handing down.  If that whole debacle doesn't happen, he's probably still there, without a Super Bowl.

I've seen in called, but most

I've seen it called, but most frequently on field goal attempts.  It's less common on punts, I would guess, because teams don't come after the punt jailbreak style as frequently as they do field goal attempts.

It probably should have been called, but it doesn't matter at this point, and it's certainly not worth continuing to talk about.  Move on.  Beat the crap out of Minnesota.

Agree on this- want Dantonio

Agree on this- want Dantonio to stay at MSU.  Want to see his reaction when Harbaugh runs over his teams year in and year out.

That, and I think Narduzzi was the real brains behind MSU's defensive dominance and I don't want him anywhere near East Lansing (well, at least on MSU's side of the field).

Been to three.

2005 Alamo (experience was fine, minus the loss and Ecker not pitching back to Breaston, except one Big Red fan in front of me was a dick the whole game and deserved to get smacked)

2008 Capital One (obviously a wonderful experience- lots of fun watching our guys go wild on Urban's/Tebow's Gators.  I went ahead and went to Sparty/BC in the Champs Sports Bowl, same venue, 5 days before our game).

2011 Gator (awful.  Awful team.  Awful cowbells.  Awful.).

BB&T Field (Wake Forest).

BB&T Field (Wake Forest).  Probably smaller than some Texas HS stadiums and flat out boring (the stadium itself isn't terrible, moreso the atmosphere).  As a previous poster stated, Ryan Field sucks, too.

Saw an article/opinion piece

Saw an article/opinion piece that claimed that D'Angelo Russell is one of the higher risk players in the draft.  Not sure I'd take him at 4 overall over Winslow.

My first Father's Day as a My first Father's Day as a father myself (February of this year). Will probably be pretty low key, but the wife will do a few things for me. It's definitely a new feeling.

Dad is out traveling, so probably have a phone call/video chat with him, depending on Internet/cell service wherever he is.
