06/02/2018 - 8:12am You can hear how electric it

was in the Joe during those great years.

Hoping both the Wings and Michigan return to where both were in the 90's.

05/10/2018 - 5:56pm Great news, great cause, well deserved.

Soon, individuals will be presented an RFID card to a city...

05/04/2018 - 11:41pm Most great teams and rivals have a

pest or two.

Late 80's Celtics had Danny Ainge. Lakers had Michael Cooper.

Bad Boys had Laimbeer.  Rodman could also drive teams nuts.

So many great Red Wings- Koccur, Holmstrom, Ciccarelli, Maltby, Lindsay.

Aaron Craft had a face I wanted to cave in.  Thad Matta as well.

05/03/2018 - 6:50pm If by "pro-style" you mean

players getting paid- pretty sure they've been doing that for decades now.

03/23/2018 - 6:38am Michigan is undefeated this March.

Let's keep it that way and for April as well!

03/17/2018 - 12:16pm Anyone else still not

receiving their tickets for free?

This is bullshit- thanks Warde!

Houston, we have a problem...

Michigan 84  Cougar Hot Flashes 61

03/13/2018 - 5:01pm The NCAA's thin veneer of bullshit.

That is an awesome line.

Or- The NCAA pretending they care about student athletes is the thin veneer covering their bullshit utopia.

03/03/2018 - 4:26pm Half of MSU's losses

are to Michigan!

02/02/2018 - 2:57pm Nothing would be

better than if the truck was unlocked...

01/20/2018 - 8:38am Big fan of

both Bell's and Founders.  Win Win.

Really like Railtown Brewing Company in Dutton, Mi.  Very good beers.  Had a double IPA with blood oranges called Bloody Warrior and it was one of the best new beers I've had is some time.  They do not bottle beer- so you know they are still a smaller outfit.  Well worth the stop if ever in the area.

01/14/2018 - 9:52am Does McGuffie

have any bobsledding highlights on You Tube?

11/26/2017 - 6:05pm I view his time at

Michigan as a success, but with a level of "incomplete" added.  Injury robbed him of too many games and being able to compete at 100% - which was very unfortunate.

Best of luck to him!

10/31/2017 - 4:16pm No- I do not

remember beer #97 on Saturday.  Everything after #75 is a bit hazy...

10/30/2017 - 4:28pm Anyone notice

the picture of Peters throwing to Wheatley?  The defender looks like he's 4 feet tall!

10/08/2017 - 10:12am Frustrated.

Deeply worried.

10/08/2017 - 12:10am I have never seen a game where

a +5 turnover margin was almost completely negated by a defense.

10/07/2017 - 11:56pm Yes!

Every bounce went their way tonight- every Lewerke drop, the punt that went over their PR head and bounced right to them to recover.

One of those days...

10/07/2017 - 11:42pm Poetry.

Pure Poetry...

10/07/2017 - 11:28pm Red zone offense

mattered today.

Opening drive field goal instead of TD.

Those 4 missed points...

10/07/2017 - 11:23pm Great game by the D.

They did about all they could.

09/30/2017 - 1:45pm Agreed with "What old men say"

This is one of the main reasons I liked Joe Tiller.  He had a old-school quality in his talk and demeanor that made him sound like someone who had coached in the Big Ten forever.  That coupled with the offensive he ran was a great thing for the conference.

09/17/2017 - 11:07am Happy with a 3-0 start.

Improvements in every facet of the offense going forward will be important.  As good as our defense is, if they are worn out by the end of games because the offense can't sustain drives, it will be much tougher to win some games- even Purdue, MSU and others.

09/10/2017 - 6:02pm Brandy and Dan on color

with a professional, made-for-radio voice with play-by-play.  It would need to be someone who could thrive doing ONLY play-by-play, since Jim and Dan tend to ramble on.

We have been pretty spoiled in this state- Harwell, Ufer, Bruce Martyn, Ken Kal, Blaha (Pistons), and Beckman.

I just looked it up, and Ken Kal did UM hockey games in past.  Did not know that!

09/08/2017 - 7:29pm A thrash / metal

09/08/2017 - 7:25pm The ear-piercing lamentations of the enemy's women-

and "Hell's Bells" intro leading into a 3rd down defensive stand.

09/08/2017 - 6:59pm Appreciate the feedback, Joe.

Keep the great recipes coming!

Go Blue!

09/08/2017 - 3:13pm The Urban Meyer

coaching tree must be hewn down.

Chris Ash:  78-0

Luke Fickell: 61-0 sounds about right...

09/07/2017 - 7:09pm Praying that

these episodes are "100% Tom Crean Free"...

09/07/2017 - 7:00pm This looks amazing-

thanks Joe!

Not to completely change the subject Joe (and blog), but do you have any experience with the kettle grill accessory that sits on one half of the grill and allows for a second heating zone?  I wish I knew the exact term for this device- but it looks fun and am thinking of buying one to enjoy.  Any advice?  Thanks!

09/06/2017 - 3:58pm IDK what the

ETA for the UM vs FL UFR will be.  FWIW, pretty PO'd about all this BS.  Looking forward to PR stats, IE: DPJ.

09/05/2017 - 4:45pm Love it when they are pointing

at each other and neither willing to take the blame.

Not going to be fun for Florida reviewing this game...

09/03/2017 - 12:36pm Agreed with Dwumfour

absence, but encouraged by the play of Carlo Kemp.  Good game for him.

09/01/2017 - 3:37pm Pit names:

-Temptation (nod to the marching band)

- Haily

08/31/2017 - 6:41am 39-6

39-6 Michigan

08/29/2017 - 11:48pm There will be no need

for them to go sideline to sideline.  90% of Florida's offensive snaps will result in Michigan's defensive linemen and linebackers blowing up plays mere seconds after the snap- so he is somewhat correct.

08/28/2017 - 6:44pm As every year-

these previews are sweet ambrosia.

On vacation this week- what a bonus all this reading is!

08/28/2017 - 10:53am Agreed.

I also wish Ohio State wasn't the top team in nearly every category...

08/26/2017 - 3:49pm Hamms

ALWAYS wins the battle...

08/26/2017 - 10:54am Someone's taking a big

risk ripping that blanket away...

08/20/2017 - 11:02am These are amazing!

A few brief observations:

Gentry looks great- the S & C program has him looking TE-ready.

Mone with his size and the white socks- giving me flashbacks to Will Carr- which is a good thing!

Bredeson burying Solomon (?)- sweet revenge.

08/19/2017 - 3:55pm Poor sharks are

terrified after seeing what McElwain did to their mother...

08/18/2017 - 2:54pm Mmmmm-

Lou Malnati's.....

08/10/2017 - 7:12pm Better title:

U-M removes Dave Brandon's Blue Balls

08/06/2017 - 12:31pm Hoping this will be an alarm to

Onwenu to bring his A game- all the time.

Only a true sophmore, so plenty of time to maximize his potential.

If still struggling towards the end of the year, I fear a Will Campbell path will lie before him.

08/05/2017 - 6:32pm Is it OK as a

45 year-old man to sprint full blast to the mailbox immediately when the postal carrier delivers? I've only been doing it for a week now.

The look in her eyes says "It is not OK".

Not stopping until she brings them.

08/04/2017 - 4:17pm There are some dangers to

playing football, and the physical toll it takes on person who plays it professionally for a long time.  It also can affect those who haven't played their whole lives.

Where are all the articles about the 55 year-old cement worker who can hardly walk anymore from the decades of manual labor?  Or the 70 year-old farmer who can't pour a glass of milk from a gallon because the years of endless work have rendered his hands riddled with arthritis?

The fact is this world is full of people suffering the effects of their labors.  I have a lot more sympathy for regular folks who probably worked as hard- or harder, for a much longer period of time, and for a fraction of what most athletes made in less than a season of their sport- than retired athletes.

Don't get me wrong- all those who suffer such things deserve our compassion.  Athletes are no different than others who suffer.

I always remember a reporter who asked Sparky Anderson if he felt bad for the struggles Alan Trammell was having during a stretch of the season.  Anderson replied, "Don't feel sorry for these men- they're being paid millions to play a game."

07/22/2017 - 9:58am Great to hear about taking your

daughter to her first game.  Was blessed to do this 3 times!  A memorable day for both father and daughter.

To be honest, I have never had a bad seat at a game.  Sure, some vantage points are better than others, but almost all make for good viewing.

Don't know enough about the secondary ticket market to help- sorry.

Have a great time, and take lots of pictures!

07/16/2017 - 6:13pm Cell door slamming

shut on half the Spartan football team

06/14/2017 - 9:15pm Good call with Whitford.

Although I would put Malcolm Young of ACDC just above him.

06/10/2017 - 8:18pm How did things become encased

in the amber?  Were there places where there were floes of amber or pools that animals fell into?

Also, I can think of a couple Ambers I would love to be "trapped in"...
