05/15/2018 - 7:02am M-Live Article

Here's the MLive article. Not a ton of details, but does confirm what's been said in the thread.

05/14/2018 - 11:12am What? Why?

Why don't you think out-of-state students would be less dedicated fans than in state? Seems to be an assumption without any real proof or data to back that up

05/11/2018 - 6:07pm No

That was his second year in the program, and his first not on a redshirt.

05/06/2018 - 5:22pm Bad Stuff ‘bout the Mets

By Chico Esquela. It’s riveting

04/27/2018 - 5:35pm Possibly the worst comment ever on MGoBlog

I have a brother who has been a paramedic for 15 years: have never heard anything remotely like that. I also have a father who has had a liver and kidney transplant.

I hope you never have to experience the agony of waiting for a loved one to get a much needed organ. So many folks die waiting which could be avoided Ignacio people checked one box when they were 16. I’ve also never heard of anyone who wasn’t listed as an organ donor ever turn down one when they needed it.

04/18/2018 - 11:53am Joe Cremo

Wonder if Beilein has kicked the tires with Joe Cremo out of SUNY Albany. Has been getting really high level interest and is from an area Beilein is familiar with

04/12/2018 - 4:12pm yes

Yes, it has every channel that Michigan plays on.

04/12/2018 - 4:06pm I can't see how that's true

Most of the Internt TV services are $35-$40. Many have DVRs, some that are even better than cable (See Youtube TV with unlimited DVR). That's still worlds cheaper than cable. Unles syou didn't have internet at your house, which I guess could be a thing.

04/12/2018 - 4:00pm It has pretty wide spread distribution

I have it here in Ann Arbor. It's amazing. Has every channel Michigna woudl ever be on (ABC/FOX/ESPN/ESPN2/BTN/FS1), has an unlimited DVR, and allows you to have multiple accounts. For $35/ month, it's a steal compared to what I was getting with DirecTV

03/25/2018 - 10:57am Indeed

Beat me by a few seconds

03/25/2018 - 10:57am Michigan

Michigan over BU for a berth to the Frozen Four

03/21/2018 - 7:32pm blue tractor

Blue tractor has a ton of TVs and shouldn’t be overwhelming. Grizzly Peak and Jolly Pumpkin might work, but I can’t remember how good the sight lines to the TVs are in there.

Fraser’s is an option, but that’s a bit more townie / dive, but at least won’t be overrun with students (the burgers there are great too)

03/12/2018 - 1:28pm Bad Source is Bad

It's an account with ~110 followers quote tweeting an account with ~70 followers. The news might not be wrong, but they essentially have 0 credibility and are likely using a story they assume will be proven right to take credit for breaking a story they have no inside info about.

03/12/2018 - 10:33am Seeding

Michigna is a 3 seed, Oklahoma is a 10 seed. I think they got penalized for their losses.

02/21/2018 - 3:10pm That...

...is quite the statement. Not to say he wasn't influential to some, but Gandhi? My mam led the movement that led to India's independence from Britan and is refered to as the father of the nation. Billy Graham is, not that.

02/19/2018 - 9:12pm MBA

MBA classes did this for sure

02/19/2018 - 7:39pm Crazy pills

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills reading the comments here and in the daily article. Class isn’t ending “early”. It’s ending on time. On time just now happens to be on the 50s. I get it’s a unique tradition (which I happily adopted while in school), but people saying it’s going to cause issues don’t understand math.

I mean, what seems easier to grasp:

1.) Class goes from 8:00- 8:50, next classes start at 9:00

2.) class is scheduled from 8:00-9:00, but you don’t need to be time. Ours next class scheduled for 9-10 won’t really start until 10:10

02/12/2018 - 10:26am bigest problem

you named the ONLY two tournament teams they beat, and they won't have an opportunity to beat another one until the B1G tourney. ND tanking hurts them, especially sincew they beat them when Colson was still playing.

02/11/2018 - 11:33pm Why are you still here then

Why keep coming back?

01/29/2018 - 11:26am Hard disagree

Palio and Gratzi are a 1/2 step above Olive Garden.

01/28/2018 - 7:52pm Jim

Jim,

You're the head coach, shouldn't be a problem at all.

But seriously, if you call the ticket office they should be able to give you an idea. I don't think they can guarentee anything, but the 20 priority points for being an alum should go along way.

12/18/2017 - 10:11am +1

We don't have enough "What Women Want" references around here. Thanks for remeding that!

12/04/2017 - 10:38pm Stop blaming the refs

It’s getting really tiresome seeing blogs / posts / tweets blaming officials after almost every loss in multiple sports. There is no big ten conspiracy against Michigan.

The officials aren’t perfect, and in some cases it’s worse than that. But people need to take their tinfoil hats off and stop their bitching.

12/04/2017 - 9:00pm And?

That’s clearly what made us go cold from the field.

11/16/2017 - 1:12pm Best case

I think that’s the best case, though may be farther off. People would feel more comfortable letting their children play if it was seen in the same vain as a broken arm or ligament damage. If it’s something that can be diagnosed, and more or less cured / damage reversed, it’s way less scary

11/16/2017 - 12:21pm Link

I think you posted the wrong link. I'm getting an article on convicted felons and their ability to run for office

11/13/2017 - 12:13pm SMH

Then how you explain the success West Virgina and North Carolina have had?

/s (hopefully not needed, but who knows)

11/07/2017 - 10:25pm Maybe

Maybe, and I'm just spitballing here, but maybe they take all of things you mentioned into account and try to balance all of those factors out into a blended rating, insead of focusing on only one metric. Crazy, I know.

10/27/2017 - 9:23am Hard disagree

I've used uber quite often in Ann Arbor before games, and the rates were never that inflated, if at all. And you can certainly get dropped off wayyyyy closer than a mile. I wouldn't tryt o go to Stadium and Main, but you can dropped off 1 block west of the stadium on Main and be totally fine.

09/26/2017 - 3:36pm "We"

Let's be careful with the use of pronouns there. Not sure that's a widely held view.

09/17/2017 - 10:25am NPC

What the heck is an NPC?

Non-Playoff Contender?

09/05/2017 - 3:51pm Still TBD on if he's redshirted

But that wouldn't make him a RS Freshmen this year. He'd be a RS Freshmen next year.

08/25/2017 - 6:58pm Highlights

The percentage of people under 35 who want to wait 1/2 a day to see highlights vs going to Twitter, YouTube, blogs, etc is....low.

Highlight shows don't work anymore.

08/25/2017 - 6:56pm This again?

ESPN had a broadcaster scheduled for an event where here would have been memes, screenshots, etc poking fun of the reporter in the light of re.

They reach out to him and mutually agreed to reassign him to avoid ridicule for him. They certainly didn't make a big deal out of the switch.

Idiots like Clay Travis got a hold of it and used it as platform to go after ESPN because, he wanted to push his agenda and his brand.

ESPN didn't make a big deal out of it: people who are outraged who a) weren't watching that game anyway and b) never heard of that reporter until last week are the ones making it an issue.

08/25/2017 - 6:50pm Disagree

30 for 30s and their other long form reporting are usually great. Watched the story of the Dallas Carter High School team from 1988 the other day and it was exceptional.

Their big problem otherwise is no one tunes in for highlights now, so shows like Sportscenter are stale. He SVP revamp is good. Some others less so, but people rag on ESPN because they think it's the cool thing to do.

08/06/2017 - 11:07am Accurate

Only problem with this is youl wind up buying three tickets for one person to enjoy the game. If you go in knowing that, and still want to spend the $150+, that's fine. To me, that's a lot of money to pay for a picture of your family in front of the stadium.

08/06/2017 - 7:28am Honest question:

Do you have kids? Because I have a 1 year old now. We've taken him to 2 hockey games, the spring game, and a baseball game.

With a kid, you need constant distraction and stimulation. New toys, moving around, etc. when your cramped in a row packed like sardines in a stadium that doesn't allow you to bring anything in, where your goal is to typically to stay still and watch something, let's just say that doesn't fly.

08/03/2017 - 9:07am Was kidding

Was kidding when he said "couple" though :)

08/02/2017 - 11:24am Denver

Was recently on a bachelor party out in Denver. Purchased some reallll strong stuff from a dispensary there. Would recommend.

08/01/2017 - 9:18am Couple of points

1.) even in a world where utilities are primarily coal powered, electric cars have a significantly lower carbon footprint than gas powered.

2.) many utilities are in the process of shifting away from coal generation to renewables and natural gas. DTE just announced plans to shut down most of their coal plants by 2030 and all of then in the next 25 years.

07/25/2017 - 1:20pm Parental Support

I think you'd be hard pressed to find parents steering their kids towards smoking at young ages, which is more of the issue here. The death of football isn't going to come from curretn players retiring early, it's going to come as parents stop letting their children play youth football and the future stars of tomorrow wind up playing basketball, baseball or soccer.

There's too much money at Power 5 schools, but I wouldn't be surprised if you see some of the D2, 3 or even FCS may consider cancelling their programs in the hear future.

07/15/2017 - 7:58am Forgot

I think you missed the /s in the post

05/26/2017 - 11:48am Respect the Biz

Don't link to CBS, give credit to the capital J Journalists from Pardon My Take.

05/12/2017 - 8:48pm To be fair...

.... that could be many people's secondary description.

04/17/2017 - 3:35pm no

that burn was flawless in it's execution. You can't improve on perfection. Subtlety plays in humor

04/09/2017 - 12:57pm Still

I don't think there is anyway it makes it up to 21, much less 25. All the experts are saying 14-18. 14/15 is too low, but I think 16-20 is a more realistic range

03/10/2017 - 11:07am Nike would have loved it

They would have sold so many of those jerseys, especially if they won the tournament. Has to be a B1G recommendation or the team's choice.

03/08/2017 - 10:19am Other Conferences

Y'all realize many other conferences have their tournaments over at this point, so it's already a tested model. I don't think it's the right decision, and i wouldn't recommend the B1G modelling off of the MEAC, but people who can't wrap their noodle around how this will work really aren't paying attention to college basketball more broadly.

02/24/2017 - 12:52pm Obligatory

0 fakes out of 5

02/08/2017 - 3:35pm missing an /s there?

yeah, no succesful pro coach would ever go back to college. Never happened in any sport. nope.
