Any idea which LB spot the coaches see him playing at Michigan? I can't imagine it would be the Roh LB considering the massive amount of other recruits/committs we have from last year's class and this year's class at that position: Rogers, Ryan, Beyer just to name a few...
just read the rivals article...I had my doubts about a 5' 8'' "slow" corner, but it sounds like he has some serious instincts and you can't coach that. Thanks for the link.
This does deserve its own thread, because while I do agree with you, there is significant concern that an Offensive Line that has averaged only 290ish (if you take Omameh, Schilling, Huyge, Ortmann, Dorrestein, Molk and Moosman-the guys that significant PT) across the front can actually make effective blocks against some of the biggest and best opponents. I am not suggesting that we turn into the next Wisco with our O-Line, but athleticism at these positions is at a premium and especially in this offense. I have more faith in Rich Rod than anyone on this board, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't discuss such a topic-especially at a position of such vital need in the recruiting scene in 2011.
I can tell you as a fact, the players I've talked to on the O-Line are all saying that getting bigger in the offseason has been a priority. Its easy to loose wait during the season (practice, school, etc.) and therefore there is a special emphasis on the addition of weight that is sustainable. As far as recruiting goes, I have no idea what impact this will have, but I would presume positive.
After what I saw this past season, I am in complete support of recruiting a hell of a lot of DBs especially with the news that Warren is probably gone. Does anyone have a realistic probability of someone like Jefferson or Parker going Blue (I think Safety is an area of tremendous concern).
This is a little off topic, but whatever. I know that rivals has Furman listed as an outside linebacker. If we can land him and we fail at getting any other safeties, what is the general feelings about moving a 6' 3'' 4.36 Forty guy there? Just food for thought, but even though this guy is a 3-star on rivals I think he is MUCH better than that.
I know its another long shot to say the least, but I was curious where we stood with Christian Jones at LB. That is a spot in need of serious help as far as I'm concerned. I know he hasn't set up an official to Michigan, but on Rivals it says he has no visits scheduled for the OSU weekend. Is there even an outside chance here?
