So happy for some football content!!

04/09/2018 - 11:31pm Streaming serivces own

Streaming serivces own content is always like this. When there is no need to conform to half hour or one hour time slots, they can do this whevener they want. I was watched a Netflix origingal scripted drama a while back and all the episodes were a different length. Some were 56 minutes, some 45 and one only like 32.

01/09/2018 - 1:55pm I hope you can feel better as

I hope you can feel better as much as possible. My mother dealt with CFS for years when I was a young boy (and spent weeks at a time in the hospital with an endless train of doctors/specialists trying to figure out what was wrong). Eventually it just kind of went away for her, but it did take many many years. I also deal with a few various, albeit less severe, chronic illnesses (of the digestive kind) for which there is no real explanation or "cure", so I can somewhat understand the frustration of bouncing from doctor to doctor, doing constant online research to find something - anything - that will help. I guess I'm lucky to live in Canada where we have universal healthcare. It sounds like, based on your esssay, that cannabis might be helping you a bit, as it has for me. I'm no doctor (or health professional of any kind) and while it certainly is no panacea for health issues, in addition to straight cannabis, I've found that using pure CBD extract helps with some of my issues, and, at very least, it allows me to stay calm, less stressed and generally happier when my symptoms are bad. I know for a fact that it is used by some people with CFS and fibromyalgia. It also has the nice little side benefit of not being psychoactive, so you can use it and still do serious things, like work, drive, etc (when that is something you want). I truly hope you sort this out for your own sake and sanity, but also for us because your writing and podcasting is great! Go Ace! Go Blue!

Ya, one year's performance should have way more weight than the past fifteen..  /s

01/05/2018 - 4:12pm I presume coaching hiring

I presume coaching hiring decisions are not based exclusively on past wins and losses...

01/02/2018 - 1:09pm Michigan "fans" are the

Michigan "fans" are the worst. It wasn't a great season, no. But I'm still a lot happier and excited about the future of the program than I have been for the last decade. Our offense sucked this year. Plain and simple. It will get better next year with a better QB (either Peters or Patterson) and more experience. I still think Harbaugh's cardinal sin was going 10-2 in his first year. If he'd taken the team from 4-8 to 6-6, then to 8-4 everybody would be praising the progress. You don't start putting college coaches (especailly one you pined over like Harbaugh) on the hot-seat after a few years. Any smart football fan should realize that a college that changes coaches without giving them at least 5 years to sort their shit out are going to fail (and I would argue that a guy like Harbaugh gets a longer leash than that). Anyways, on to the off-season and looking foward to next. Go Blue!

Last night, I said to my cousin, whom I was watching the game with: this is the worst football commentary and color that I have ever experienced in my life. They both called Amara Darboh like “Omoro Dorbah” or something too.

Don't you get tired of making the same post in every thread?

10/23/2017 - 10:42am JH's biggest problem right

JH's biggest problem right now is that he overachieved by taking a 5-7 team of essentially the same players to 10-3 in the first year. It appears to me that fans would have been more patient with him if he had taken a route similar to his Stanford route of slow continuous progress. Even with that team, he didn't really "win anything" until his 4th year.

Now we're playing to win The Game, win a bowl, and improve for next year. If it's only the latter, I'll take it.

Uhh, perhaps it's because WS and JOK just aren't that good? You can only coach so much... even if you are the "Quarterback Whisperer". Unless Harbaugh's first 3 hand-picked QBs all flop, I'll still have faith in this.

10/16/2017 - 11:32am His presser persona is

His presser persona is basically a less-prickly Nick Saban (although sometimes he can be as prickly). None of these coaches want to tell the media anything.

He needs to learn to speed up his game.

10/14/2017 - 4:49pm I agree.

I agree.

10/12/2017 - 4:35pm I don't know how relevant

I don't know how relevant this is (if at all), but I found it somewhat interesting. On his podcast this week, Jim, Jack and JT were talking with QB coach George Whitfield. George made a comment about how when coaching young QBs, he explains to them that they have to do everything at full speed, specifically something to the effect of: "When you are in your dropback, sprint through it. You can't go at your own pace. Defensive ends like JJ Watt and Von Miller won't wait for you to do your 3 or 5 step dropback, then get set and then go through your reads. You've got to do that stuff at break-neck speed to give you as much time as possible". Jim jumped all over that comment (loving it) and immediately said he was going to go back and tell Brandon Peters that. That to me signals a guy (Peters) who may just be a bit behind in getting up to the full speed of the college game. I'm not sure if that's good or bad; just thought it was interesting.

They should both be open. I was at the Colorado game and it poured the whole morning before the game and it was still open. Forecast looks like it rained Thursday but no rain today or tomorrow.

I'm in my hometown of Sault Ste. Marie (Ontario) for Thanksgiving (that's right, Canadian Thanksgiving). I hit up a local microbrewery (OutSpoken Brewery) earlier and grabbed two growlers. One is a kolsch style lagered ale called Deadfall and one is a red ale called Anvil. Both delicious. Definitely football weather up here today. Go Blue!

09/30/2016 - 12:48pm Haha. All I could think

Haha. All I could think watching that game was that it looked like the Vols were playing in the NFL.

09/29/2016 - 4:47pm With the two front sevens

With the two front sevens being as good as they are, both teams will be forced to the air. With our secondary, the rain and their Freshman QB, I think we have the edge. I'm nervous about this game, but I tend to agree with Cowerd that this has the potential of being a blowout. I think there is 60% chance that Wisconsin is not that good, and are only getting the hype because they beat two overrated top ten programs at the time. I'm still nervous though. AHHH!

09/29/2016 - 4:43pm They have to give him at

Any decent butcher should either have them (if they taken down whole sides of beef) (maybe frozen), or at very least can get them. They should quite be cheap too (although their price has gone up a lot in recent years)

09/29/2016 - 4:31pm Brisket would work well here.

Brisket would work well here. Or, just do what I do, cook it, serve it to them and just say it's "beef", which isn't a lie, and nobody will know (in fact, they'll be raving about how good your beef is!)

09/26/2016 - 4:46pm Might I recommend the

Might I recommend the Michigan branded sunglasses they sell at the M Den. They are the worst glasses in terms of UV protection and they obstruct your vision a lot compared to a decent pair of sunglasses, so I wouldn't recommend driving with them on, but they have a completely reflective layer on the outside of the lenses so you can view to your heart's content.

09/16/2016 - 3:43pm Mine too. But I've been

Mine too. But I've been tracking this all week and this afternoon the forecasts have changed significantly in our favor. Went from 90% chance of rain and almost 0.5 inches during the day on Saturday to 55% chance of rain and 0.1 inches of rain during the day on Saturday. It looks like the rain forecast has been moved up to Friday overnight/early early Saturday morning. I think there is still a decent chance of a few showers during tailgate tmie and the game, but nothing like the sustained rain the originally forecasted. Thunderstorms are almost better from a rain perspective because they tend to be fairly isolate and move by quickly. But obviously t-storms are not good for game time. Really interested in MGoweather's take on this forecast. I'll be as prepared for rain as I can be!
