A few of the rules they mentioned during the games:

No kickoffs.  Teams  start drives at their own 25-yard line.

No onside kicks.  If a team wants to keep possession, they get the ball at their own 28 and have one down to get at least 12 yards.

On defense, teams can only rush five players.

In OT each team gets the ball at the 10-yard line and has four downs to score.

11/05/2018 - 8:11am I might be in the minority,…

I might be in the minority, but I'd prefer to play/beat tOSU with the stakes as large as possible.  That's what the Game is all about.

09/24/2018 - 11:55am Haha the "Caillou is a bitch…

Haha the "Caillou is a bitch" video is spot on.  I actually gave away my oldest's Caillou books before his younger siblings found them.

09/24/2018 - 11:20am Correct, Caillou is a piece…

Correct, Caillou is a piece of shit.

08/08/2018 - 8:30am Regarding yellow jackets,…

Regarding yellow jackets, there are always two entrances to an underground nest.  Make sure you account for both.

05/25/2018 - 2:19pm My favorite milestone...

For all three of my children is sleeping through the night.  Sleep is so underrated.

Best advice: don't be in a hurry for them to grow up, you only get each age once.

Congrats on the little one.

05/11/2018 - 11:48pm Wait...

What?

05/02/2018 - 12:43pm SVG's...

Two main downfalls are doling out bloated contracts to roleplayers and missing with his draft picks.  I'd personally rather have Blake than the 12th pick this year because Stan's draft record is pretty spotty.  I think he's a good coach, just not a great personnel guy.

I'm curious what a full season of Reggie-Blake-Andre looks like.  27-18 with Reggie this year, 12-25 without him.  Get some 3 and D guys around that core and they might have something.

02/22/2018 - 10:31am Just make sure...

You slip something else in first and you'll be fine.

01/19/2018 - 6:44pm Dragon's Milk

mmmmmm.

01/14/2018 - 4:07pm That's...

very un-dude.

01/05/2018 - 8:39am Just the fucking best...

Never gets old.

11/09/2017 - 12:45pm I'm friends with a few gerbils...

and can confirm they've been inside Richard Gere's anus.

10/31/2017 - 9:53am I'd rather have a Kit Kat...

than a Snickers.

10/31/2017 - 9:20am Calmer...

Than you are.

07/28/2017 - 12:36pm Blue...

No-----

07/27/2017 - 9:49am Encore's still on Liberty...

And just as crowded and awesome as ever.

07/10/2017 - 2:47pm I wish...

they'd actually fellate themselves instead of just doing so verbally.  Would bring in a whole new crop of viewers to the site.

05/26/2017 - 1:02pm Today's ride in was so shitty I made it through two albums...

Danny Brown - Old

The Record Company - Give It Back to You

The genre for both is awesome.

05/22/2017 - 9:06am It's pee-can here in the south...

And pee-con everywhere else I've lived.

05/11/2017 - 11:37am Grew up in a2...

Went to the '98 Rose Bowl and on December 30th it was 75 and sunny in L.A. vs. -8 in Michigan.  Applied to USC.  Got in.  Went there.  Enjoyed nice weather.  Still root for Michigan first and foremost.  You can't take the blue out of blood.

04/19/2017 - 9:52pm +1

+1

04/07/2017 - 10:32am Yes, Opening Day

43 degrees at first pitch, but my heart will be warm.

03/08/2017 - 1:08pm Rutgers

Once they build their wall.

02/10/2017 - 9:04am Haha

It's funny 'cause it's true.

02/05/2017 - 9:58am Gregg Marshall

Wanted him before we eventually hired Beilein after seeing his work at Winthrop.  Wins with defense,  roots in the southeast, now has a recruiting hold in the midwest.

Look at Winthrop and WSU's records with and without him.  He'd be a great pick if he'd leave.

01/09/2017 - 8:49pm Kick his ass,

Sebass!

10/27/2016 - 4:28pm I wouldn't take that bet

Dollars to donuts that he is thinking "f--- Jim Harbaugh" at this very moment.

09/22/2016 - 2:50pm Haha

Tommy likey! Tommy want wing-ey!

09/22/2016 - 2:05pm Petersen

If I remember correctly, and with the amount of bong resin clogging my memory receptors it's entirely possible this isn't the case, Petersen declined USC's invitation because he likes the northwest.  Washington swooped in on Petersen after SC hired Sarkisian without proper vetting.  And now they're bad.  And will be until they get a real coach because there's a ton of talent on that team.

Maybe Jeff Fisher goes home if the Rams thing doesn't work, or SC takes a stab at Chip when he inevitably fails in SF.  Either way, there are no cards in the universe that can align more properly than Harbaugh to Michigan.

07/07/2016 - 1:29am This is cool

I do remember those late 80's/early 90's clashes when both teams were good and the game meant something besides antiquated bragging rights. And if both teams are consistently good, this is a positive development. No other game that early in the season will get the kind of attention this one will, and a win will help. Is variety good? Yes, but beating Notre Dame is better.

07/01/2016 - 4:18pm Confirmed

I was going 150mph making a pass in the left lane and I checked my rearview to see someone riding my bumper.  They then flew past me when I moved back over.

07/01/2016 - 4:17pm Georgia

Georgia drivers are as clueless as North Carolinians and as rude as Los Angelinos.

06/21/2016 - 9:44pm That'd be...

one helluva way to tell someone about their mom dying.

06/21/2016 - 1:39pm 1985 Mustang

I had a 1985 Mustang in high school/half of college.  Huge piece of shit.  One day my mom needed to borrow it for some reason.  I got a call a little while after she left.  "I just want you to know your car's on fire," she told me.  I heard sirens in the background and someone yelling, "lady, get out of the car!"  Needless to say, I never really got to say goodbye.

I should've gone down with that thing.  I owned it for about five years and lived through everything from the power steering failing mid-turn to a tire blowing on 94 to skidding out around a turn in front of a semi in the rain.  The stereo system kicked ass though.

06/08/2016 - 12:57pm Haha

"The litter has already been cleaned up and we're ready to go for the camp."

05/17/2016 - 10:23am Enjoy it...

I'm by no means pro-diaper, but pretty soon they'll roll your eyes at you and say "good" when you ask them how school was and "nothing" when you wonder what they learned.  We're finishing potty training on our youngest now, but my oldest is finishing second grade and growing up fast.  So while diapers do in fact suck, the older they get, the older you get.

05/17/2016 - 9:55am Pot

Pot.

05/07/2016 - 10:12pm Wellers

We got married at Wellers in Saline and have also been to several more there.  Great setting and they take care of everything.  I recommend it whenever someone asks.  It "shows well," which is all my wife and her entourage kept saying, so there's that.

05/03/2016 - 9:26am Commie High

He was a senior when I was a freshman.  He fronted a band...I think it was called Blue Vinyl.  They used to headline Commstock fundraisers, which were the shit.  Kids would come to CHS from miles around, get stoned and listen to the bands.  They stopped putting them on for liability reasons.  Good times.  "In my day...."

04/28/2016 - 11:19am Champions Parking

Back when they put the halo up, the gate near the backside of Crisler was open, and my friends and I played football on the field late one night.  We took a parking barrier on our way out of the lot.  Just a piece of wood probably about eight feet long, painted blue, with "Champions Parking" on it.  Looks pretty sweet in my garage.  Because I'm a champion.

04/25/2016 - 1:03pm Ha Noi '12

It was Ha Noi.  Summer of 2012.  Me and the others were looking for a way to get higher than ever before.  We'd had the usual--Mong Cai Mud, Ben Tre Brown Sugar, Da Nang Dank--but we were looking for something more real, visceral.

A friend had just crossed over from Thailand via Laos with what he promised would blow our collective minds.  He opened his backpack and pulled out a laptop.  We gathered round as the startup screen illuminated our makeshift slum shanty.

"What's the wifi password?" he barked.

"Hoke11and2," I answered.  His fingers quickly massaged the keyboard and within a few seconds we were staring at a screen filled with boobs.

"Wrong window." Another few clicks and we landed on mgoblog.  Never before had we seen a page so joyous.  From the diaries to the OT's, but mostly the glorious comment sections, we had found Mecca.

Most of us stopped using the strong stuff after that, getting our endorphine fix on the internet ten, 20, sometimes 30 times daily.  The F5 key was our new high.

04/13/2016 - 2:16pm I don't know what they're thinking

He stopped playing football 34 years ago and his resume reads:

-Sideline reporter, MNF

-Chairman of the President's Council On Physical Fitness And Sports

-Failed bid for Governor of Pennsylvania

04/07/2016 - 12:30pm In a way...

One of the assisant coaches was in charge of installing defensive sets and teaching technique when I worked for the USC basketball team.  That was the case at many other schools--but not all--as well.  Although the head coach would call the sets out, the assistants had a ton of input during the game.

03/18/2016 - 3:51pm Oval Beach

Saugatuck and Douglas are great.  Oval Beach is one of the best beaches I've ever been to.

03/18/2016 - 9:45am And then use it against them in the CFP

I like your thinking.

01/30/2016 - 11:56pm Warm fuzzies

I know it was Penn St. and I know the bball team doesn't get the love of football...and also that this particular incarnation is capable of getting blown out and can be frustrating beyond comprehension for stretches, but they're also incredibly fun to watch.  The growth since early on in the year is apparent, and if LeVert can mesh, this team is dangerous.  I'm looking forward to seeing them reach their potential not only this year, but further down the road as players continue to grow.

01/19/2016 - 2:20pm Where do I sign up...

For said spanking from statistic gremlins?  And do I have to be asleep?

01/18/2016 - 3:51pm Agreed

2006 ALCS. One of my favorite calls.

01/17/2016 - 1:03pm I'm not a huge fan of the L.A. culture...

Or smog, traffic, etc., and Los Angelinos made me appreciate Ann Arborites more, but seeing the sun in February was nice, and I didn't sit in traffic while at SC because everyone lives on or right next to campus.
