03/22/2018 - 9:39am I'm fine with it

I think I am in the minority when I say that I Liked when Gardner wore 98. I like when players wore the retired numbers. Hoke just went about it all wrong, only giving it to seniors or guys who “earned” it. That is stupid. Devin Bush wore 11 in High School, I’m sure he would have chosen to 11 at Michigan had it been available. You need to treat them like any old number not this thing that can only be attained after a year or two. It’s been said on here before but it sort of ruins a players legacy when they switch numbers. I remember Jordan Kovacs as wearing 32 not 11. If it’s done right I sure hope they bring those numbers back.

03/20/2018 - 9:44am just a sad state of affairs

One thing that really upsets me is him say he has never run from anything in his life. Tom, you are running from the ESPN report and the FBI report. Just come out and say what you know. It’s the oldest adage in the world, the truth will set you free. I wish one of these coaches or assistants would just come out and blow this whole thing up by just telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

03/29/2017 - 12:31pm have to disagree, sorry.

Steele Chambers is the better of the two names. Clearly his parents knew what they were doing when they named him Steele with the last name of Chambers. Best name I've seen in a long while.

02/15/2017 - 8:34am Sad

This is just sad all the way around. Dakich didn't need to send those tweets at all, yes everyone thinks that but to say it on twitter is a different thing. And Izzo going on for about 5 minutes about how Dakich needs to apoligize and he would have chanted those things alopng with the student section just makes him look like Dakich is right. Izzo talking about how it was unprofessional and he talks about it for five minutes in a post game press conference. I'm sure the media doesn't want to hear that Tom, they want your comments on the game, not your comments on how Twitter made another person look stupid again.

02/13/2017 - 1:41pm did we even have a shot?

In this rivals he makes it sound like Michigan wan't really int he picture and that ND was way up on the top of his list. I would think the UM would want this kid, Rivals puts him at #90 in the country right around where Thomas was this year.

01/26/2017 - 3:28pm Getting Collins is more about

Getting Collins is more about our presence in the south at this point I think. Need to show recruits down there that they can and maybe should come north to play football.

01/23/2017 - 11:00am Is Dantonio smart? I feel

Is Dantonio smart? I feel like reading they waited till the 11th hour to request the Ed Davis sixth year. Maybe the NCAA felt bad for him because it was to late to get into the draft. IDK like Brian says people are in charge of things just to be in charge of them.

01/17/2017 - 1:45pm Redshirts for TE's

In taking a pass on TE's in this class I'm really hoping that Eubanks and McKeon can get redshirts. Really need to spread out the talent at that posiotion now.

01/17/2017 - 12:38pm Maybe

I think the coaches are just covering them selves. They feel things trending away with Nico, I'm sure we still have a shot at him but need to have a backup plan if things don't work out. Plus if we get both, yeah thats a lot of recivers and only one ball, but there have been rumors of Nate Johnson wanting to transfer so it might be that too. Either way I like it after watching Hunter Renfrow tourch Bama, Martin reminds me of him a bit watching his film.

11/23/2016 - 1:55pm Bummer

He seems like kid who you will hate to play against but love to have on your team.

10/19/2016 - 12:40pm longevity

Rivals and Scout have been doing it the longest. they also do a lot of reranks throught the year. Rivals seems to favor those who show up to their camps more.

08/31/2016 - 4:51pm Hand

Dashawn Hand and Damian Harris

06/22/2016 - 12:22pm thanks

thanks for doing some digging on this Brian

06/16/2016 - 10:54am Greyshirt

That's a bold move by Meyer considering that he doesn't have a commitment from one of those two five stars he's recruiting. one is committed else where and the other is from Mississippi.

06/15/2016 - 11:11am sorry

didn't do a search. I'll be sure and do that next time

06/15/2016 - 11:09am same here

just haven't been able to find anything offical yet

06/15/2016 - 11:08am early enrollee

he's been on campus for a minute

06/14/2016 - 11:20am Rivals

I have had a rivals account for sometime now, over five years, and I must say I agree that they have gone downhill in the few years as far as recruiting info and team info in general. Anything I read about fall or spring practices I take with less than a grain of salt because nothing has really come to fruition that they write. I've benn shopping for a new paywalled site, thinking about switching to 247.

06/02/2016 - 2:44pm Glen Steele

I was thinking Glen Steele but more athletic. He played DE like Gary will and his senior year I think he had a least one sack every game.

05/13/2016 - 12:26pm GIF!!!!

Someone with some computer skills please gif the crap out of that

02/17/2016 - 2:12am Football vs basketball recruiting

They are extremely different. The obvious you are signing 25-30 kids in football and maybe 2-3 in basketball. AAU and summer ball really drive college bball and where kids will go. Kids like a Josh Jackson usually have "handlers" who take money in exchange to steer kids to schools. Now I'm not saying Josh has taken money from schools or has these "handlers" but when it comes to top ten kids in bball I'm willing to bet 9 out of those ten kids do. It's just a different beast all together and one Beilein won't get involved in. He has gotten lucky with kids like McGary who didn't have these handlers and so he recruited clean and hard and got him. He got lucky with GR3 and Burke and Hardaway. Those guys were not highly rated when they commuted to play for him. GR3 commuted as an unranked three star. What we are seeing right now is recruiting misses and people not developing the way Beilein thought they would or should.

01/08/2016 - 9:17am nothing

just like a regular commitment

01/07/2016 - 10:27am spend it

first thing i would buy is a suite at the big house maybe two

12/16/2015 - 9:12am hmmmm

Then why was Derrick Walton on the court???

11/23/2015 - 11:27am great

one of the better ones I've ever seen

11/16/2015 - 11:28am not a credible source

I work with a guy who's wife is best friends with Thomas' Aunt i believe. He met him when he was young and accoding to him had quite the influence on him growing up. Long story short he said he was told by Thomes that Hoke had favorites and would only play those guys. Take it how you want, i can see a guy thinking he should play and not, and being upset about it so he thinks things like that.

11/05/2015 - 8:22am Decommits

You have to assume that there will be just a few. Who? I have no idea. I have read a few things saying that some of these camp offers may turn out to be grey-shirts. It's the only other way i feel they could make this work.

11/04/2015 - 1:03pm Position?

Any one know what position we are recruiting Mecole Hardman for?

10/19/2015 - 3:39pm whats worse?

the fact that we have seen this play one hundred times two days after the fact or the we will see this play one thousand times the week leading up to next years game?

10/13/2015 - 2:42pm ???

Why do we care about this at all?

08/20/2015 - 2:52pm IMO

I dont think they're that bad. They are acually pretty simple fo alternates.

07/28/2015 - 3:17pm hey Ace,

What are the chances we would take three tight ends in this class?

07/14/2015 - 10:15am Duh

Jabril Peppers.

07/13/2015 - 1:29pm big bummer for sure

But I trust what Coach B will do from here. I somewhat agree with what Jalen Rose said that we need the five-star guys to stay competitive. I don't think we need a five-star every class but one every two years helps for sure.

07/09/2015 - 4:05pm I don's hate this idea

But at the same time I hate this idea.

06/18/2015 - 1:43pm Grey shirt

I've heard that we might offer grey shirts to a few kids. I haven't read anything about it so I don't know how much truth there is to it. But that would be a way to have room for the five stars in this class.

06/08/2015 - 10:15am Different Camt

I read that he wouldn't be able to make because he'd be at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge.

04/27/2015 - 9:01pm Auto-bench

Won't matter if we get Brown. Think about how aggressive we could be on D. The quality of our bench will be unreal.

04/24/2015 - 2:36pm nothing would make me happier

he might shit himself with anger

04/24/2015 - 9:39am ( . )( . )

( . )( . )

04/22/2015 - 1:24pm rotation

I think if we get Brown then Spike will redshirt for sure. no point in trying to bring him back early and getting hurt again. So the roatation may look like.

PG: Walton 25-30/MAAR 15-10

SG: LeVert 30/Robinson 10

SF: Brown 20-25/Dawkins 20-25

PF: Irvin 25-30/Chatman 10/ Wagner 10

C: Doyle 20/Wilson10/Donnel 10

I know Chatman and Wagner can't play 20 minutes between themselves when its not there but depending on the night and the matchup thats what they might get. Who knows maybe wagner is too skinny and needs to redshirt.

just one mans thoughts

04/22/2015 - 1:13pm He already redshirted. Can't

He already redshirted. Can't do it twice

04/22/2015 - 1:11pm Spike

I read somewhere that Spike may take a redshirt because of the hip surgeries. That makes more sence to me.

04/21/2015 - 10:42pm I think it was Speight. The

I think it was Speight. The player looked taller than him and he's not his player. I'm sure he feels that way about any player who doesn't buy into what he's saying that he didn't recruit

04/17/2015 - 12:43pm only a little upset

I will only be upset if we don't end up with a top 100 PG and SG. That's what we really need.

04/15/2015 - 9:49am to low or just right?

I'm surprised at Cory Malone-Hatcher's ranking. Everything I read about the kid made me think he would easily be a top 100 type of player.

04/08/2015 - 4:43pm What's the definition of "huge"?

I would say Jaylen Brown or official word that we are going back to Nike is the only way this could be "huge" news. An in-state recruit is very nice but not huge.

Think about this...if it is Hill that puts us in a real position to get nine out of the top ten players in the state. That would give Dantonio another heart attack for sure

03/23/2015 - 3:44pm I liked them

They just did them wrong. I said this on another thread. Let anybody wear any number any time. Let a freshman RB wear 21 let Gentry wear 11 and put the patch on the jersey and the new guys can put there own stamp on the number. I think trying to focus it on one position was dumb. It took away from the #1 jersey for sure.

03/23/2015 - 11:58am Legends Jerseys

I liked the Legends jerseys. They just did it wrong. L et anybody have the number they want at any time. If a freshman RB comes in and wants to wear 21 I think that's fine keep Desomds patch on it because he is the one who made that number "famous". Let's say Gentry comes in and wants to wear his high school number 11. That's fine just put the patch on it.
