No doubt A Train had a

No doubt A-Train had a stellar career, but, besides Chris Perry's 51 carries, I can't help but think of Biakabutuka's 300+ yards against the Bucks, in a year when we (if I remember correctly) were mediocre (by Michigan standards of the day), and OSU came in undefeated and highly ranked. That! was a MONUMENTAL performance!

Not sure about Corwin Brown

Yes, his name seems to be the first one on many people's minds. But, even if he were willing to step back to be a position coach, how good of a coach is he? How much of Notre Dame's porous defense can be attributed to his coaching ability? He's a great recruiter, but, once the mighty 4 and 5 stars are here, we need to develop them, and that comes from coaching. Anyone else know more of his coaching history and/or track record before Notre Dame?

The thought of Parker coming

The thought of Parker coming here reminds me of how excited I felt when we snatched Warren from USC's back yard. At that time, I felt like we kind of got lucky, and didn't know how easily that could be repeated. Maybe lightning can strike twice!

Black Socks

Let's not forget the Original #1 Jersey, Anthony Carter. I was a freshman at the same time he was, and saw him around campus a few times. He was not a big guy. Skinniest calves you'll ever see. Maybe 170 lbs as a freshman. Gave us all some great memories!

Counting Witty as part of

Counting Witty as part of this class, we're at 24. Assuming Furman, Grimes and Murphy are, in fact, silent commits, that's 27. Thus, if 28 is actually our limit, we can't take both Parker and Hankins, let alone any of the other names that have been thrown around, without taking a decommit. I'd hate to see guys not qualify, like Drake and Kinnard. We need both of them. Avery sounds like a good player, but he seems to be the one we hear least about. With so many other DB's, he may be the odd-man out. Thoughts?

Braylon was a 3*?

I guess, based on his legendary status, now, most people, including myself, would have never thought to even look that up. If that's true, you make a great point.

Speaking of recent or current players whose daddies were standout UM running backs, Troy Woolfolk was a 3*, and I'd say he's become pretty indispensable.

Travis Williams committed to Miami

FWIW, per Rivals, Travis Williams committed to Miami (OH) on 12/10. Sounds like he really wanted to come up north. Best of luck to him. With all the other options we have at CB, he knew AA was not going to be his home for the next four years.

I'm not worried about our secondary in the coming years. We'll do well with all the depth we're building with this class. It will just take a couple of years to develop the kids.

Now vs. 6 months ago

If I'm reading posters' feelings right on this commit, I think people are more anxious about the fact we only had three open slots left before 25, and we have a relative unknown that has just taken one of those precious slots. Meanwhile, there are some big names out there, like Furman or Big Tex, that, we all hope, don't get squeezed out. Sounds like the kid is a good athlete who understands the game, and, like Carvin Johnson, probably has more upside than we fans see, but coaches recognize. I'm guessing that, had this commit happened six months ago, when schollies weren't so tight, he'd have been welcomed with many more open arms, and much less angst.

I don't feel too bad about the commit. Maybe there's an understanding between him and the coaches that he comes in and greyshirts for a year, and then has four productive years. If I understand greyshirting, it's one notch above preferred walk-on, in that, they are not on scholarship, but get to work out with the team right away in in summer, instead of having to wait til the season starts in September. Anyone have better clarification on this? From the player's point of view, being able to play at Michigan, and get a Michigan education, is probably preferable to accepting an offer from Bowling Green, etc.

"It's hardly unheard of ..."

"It's hardly unheard of for a junior/senior to hit potential after struggling as an underclassmen."

Case in point; anybody remember rumblings last year about Donovan Warren having some struggles, and not living up to potential? Now he's a Junior, and doing so well, people are worried he may jump into the NFL Draft this spring. Let's get off BooBoo's back. He's a talented player. Maybe not the tallest corner, which does present some coverage challenges, but he'll OK.

Completely agree with Quakk

As much as I hate losing because of a blown call, it feels hypocritical to revel in victory as the beneficiary of a blown call. These are great pix, and put they my conscience at ease. Thank you OP! Excellent work.

I, personally, really like

I, personally, really like our "two-headed monster" at QB. Yes, due to depth right now, it's imperative that Denard stays at QB only. He showed, this weekend, with his throw downfield to Koger, that he has some passing skills. As those skills develop, he'll become a more rounded quarterback, and our "two-headed monster" will become a combo of Drew Brees (small guy, great accuracy) and Pat White (Jr./Sr. year). Unlike other two-QB systems, where it's usually obvious that the "other guy" is coming to run 95% of the time (Leak/Tebow), defenses will not be able to assume DRob is coming in to just run, like it pretty much was against Western and ND. This could be a nightmarish scenario for opposing teams to prepare for.

Maybe I've been drinking too much MGoKoolaid. We don't know what the future holds. Injuries happen. But if Tate and Denard both stay reasonably healthy, we could be in for one of the greatest 4-year rides Michigan Football has ever had. Remember, these guys are just FRESHMAN! Potential for this tandem for the next four years is CRAZY! This offense is going to be a lot of fun to watch! Go Blue!
