Maybe OSU ran him off like that.  But they’d have to have a sure thing with another QB that has a high probability of success.  We’ll know soon if so.

The alternative is McCord ditched them.  All very possible with a vile fan base and spineless leader who shuns all accountability - rather than take accountability he blames anyone else.

I bet McCord got a call from MSU’s new coach, a QB himself, who seems like a reasonable “what you see is what you get” kinda guy.  Opposite of Cryin’ Ryan.

Thanks for the excellent breakdown.  Love the "play to the whistle" effort by Morris and Colson.  Moore very shrewdly kept contain to let them join the party once they shed their blockers.  Great team tackle.

Tough call but you heard it here - the game is headed to OT.  Mary Jo While wins the game on a fullback dive.  Replay would've shown illegal motion but the refs decided not to check the tape.

Great post and got me pumped for the new season.  Don't want to discount the importance of individual talent, but I think great O lines meld together - so I'm excited to see how the new lineup meshes.

Also, JBB is so so good at run blocking.  Wonder if he can play the run downs and swap in a better pass blocker for pass plays.  Have other teams been able to sub O linemen in as is done on D lines?  Or does that give away the play call too much?

Is there a document therein…

Is there a document therein that explains how a head coach can blatantly lie yet keep his job?

I love the raw mental horsepower on this site, with experts in many fields.  Calling all MGoShrinks.  Clearly Urbz is allergic to truth.  His actions are indefensible, but do you think there is some legitimate mental illness at play?

Good homage to root of our…

Good homage to root of our rivalry.  Add to that our modern day differences.  One is a world class university that also happens to have the winningest football program in history.  The other is a win-at-all-costs football program that happens to have "the" university attached.

All these side stories might…

All these side stories might create a momentary distraction, but unfortunately for Urbz and his rabid supports nothing can explain why he did what he did, and why he didn't do what he didn't do.

While trying to defend Urbz by accusing Herman of fanning flames due to some sour grapes, yet another bigger issue has been exposed.  The OSU OC and his wife were so convinced and so concerned for Courtney Smith that they privately offered to help her.  Meanwhile the OSU HC and perhaps AD went the opposite direction and appear to have directed their energy to protecting the alleged abuser until that became public.

They say character is defined by what you do when nobody is looking. There is surely more to the story that we don't know, but regardless there is no explanation for why a HC seems to harbor an alleged abuser and only parts ways when exposed at Big10 medial days.  I could understand if they felt the claims had no merit, put a corrective plan in place, etc.  But in the absense of that it seemed like the reason Zach Smith got fired was because Urbz got caught harboring him.  In other words if he legitimately was innocent or simply not proven guilty beyond a shadow of doubt, why fire him after reports go public?  Was he cleared somehow or, if not, was he rehabilitated somehow?

As someone who runs a large organization, I can attest to the fact sensitive, personal decisions often can and should be made behind closed doors.  Good teams follow good leaders in those situations, because they trust their leader to make the right decision without spilling all the beans.

Urbz may have convinced himself he has done everything right per his contract, now that he has been suspended. But if so why did he blatantly lie about it at Big10 media days?  I don't see how OSU or any of its sane fans could ever trust him again, no matter how many times he wins in November.  And beyond that, will they ever trust him to represent the university?  Is his judgement good enough for the flagship public U in Ohio?
