I hope we move on from Juwan…

I hope we move on from Juwan and hope you are right about Warde.

this is laughable.  He has…

this is laughable.  He has singlehandedly ruined michigan basketball to the point that most of you don't even mention john b. anymore.  of course, Warde is complicit in this disgraceful evolution of our basketball program

^^^this... not to mention…

^^^this... not to mention his job is to have a functional relationship with our head football coach and he has failed at that too.

Fire Warde Manuel now.  How…

Fire Warde Manuel now.  How many sports can he mismanage at the same time.  Embarrassment to the university!!!

Who are all of you up voters…

Coach B accomplished more in…

Coach B accomplished more in his tenure than any modern day Michigan basketball coach ever will accomplish. Go back and watch the big ten tournament and ncaa tournament runs that we went on with his less than perfect teams.

how can people not realize how great we had it?  He was an incredible human being, incredible coach, and incredible mentor and a class act on and off the court.

the juwan Howard apologists who think that he is somehow better than coach B or think that there is some witch-hunt against juwan are beyond hope or have brains that are clearly not yet fully developed.

The last year with Jett on the court was the best for example of our lack of team cohesiveness. We were better with jett off the court.

I loved juwan as a player but he has shown limited skill as a head coach and he is a liability to the team. Where there is smoke there is fire. We were a great basketball team. How are people forgetting what happened under John B the last 5 years of his tenure. Those were remarkable runs.

I am embarrassed that our fan base doesn’t have the capacity to think anymore.

100. Let’s get to a national…

100. Let’s get to a national championship game and act like we belong there.

So sad.  Look at what he…

So sad.  Look at what he inherited with Coach B.  Let’s hope he can get it together.

How can you compare?  Look…

How can you compare?  Look where the program was when Coach B left. We were basically the envy of college basketball. Everyone talked how Michigan basketball was great fundamental basketball and he is an exceptional person on and off the court.

Hate to pick on one player…

Hate to pick on one player but Jett was asleep on the court - a lot of the time.  Hopefully he becomes a complete player next year.

Whoever slammed Beilein for…

Whoever slammed Beilein for not winning and celebrating Howard’s post season success is an idiot.

it was Beileins nucleus that Juwan stepped into that drove his initial success. Michigans run the last 5 years with the cleanest coach in basketball were the best that we may ever see. Great character, great development and enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

let’s hope coach Howard gets the players to play at a higher level next year   The way we closed out the season was embarrassing

Man. Comments like this are…

Man. Comments like this are scary. Did half our fan base not watch the game against TCU? Or miss OSU almost beat Georgia? Or miss the Super Bowl?

TCU said they were going to dare us to pass the football and play the run and they did.  We killed them once we finally started to throw the ball consistently. Yes jj through 2 picks - but as many have said, it’s b c he hasn’t been asked to throw enough in the regular season.

his stats were way better than duggans through 3 quarters. If we threw the ball all game and didn’t go blitz happy in the 4th quarter, we would have squashed them like bugs. They were not a final four team and we played a godawful 1st half of offensive football.

to your point, Duggan was…

to your point, Duggan was terrible against us for most of the game.  At one point, he was 8 for 23.  We bailed them out by repeatedly breaking our tendency.

We were looking ahead to…

We were looking ahead to Georgia, per the player interviews (JJ) and we were simply not ready to play.

I hate all the excuses.  We need to game plan better and we need to get much, much better at offensive game planning.  This team should have blown away TCU.  Look at Duggan's stats in that game.  At one point he was 8 for 23.  It was our play calling and our mistakes that made that game a game.

Then it was our blitz madness that allowed them to keep putting points on the board in the second half.  We were able to contain them when we didnt go cover zero.  Such a disappointing coaching effort.

Great season, but we need to make changes or we will be staring at a familiar ending again next year.

Duggan was awful through 3…

Duggan was awful through 3 quarters.  Minter kept gambling every series and it ended up costing us in second half.  We were down 3 points!  We had them in 3rd and 7 and 3rd and 10 and just kept needlessly sending the house without even disguising where the blitz was coming from.  It put us in high risk situations that they were able to capitalize on.

TCU was not passing well and they were without their starting running back.  I will never understand WTF happened in the second half.  Our offense kind of got their act together and we completely shxt the bed on defense.

So confused.

a little much, don't you…

a little much, don't you think?  not too many sports blogs with grammar police on them....for good reason

you suck and are a disgrace…

you (OP) suck and are a disgrace to the community.

Don't come on a Michigan board and attack one of our own.  What we text to friends is one thing, but attacking a kid on this board who is just 18 or 19 and playing under this kind of pressure is absurd.  Give these guys a chance.

How many sweet 16s will make you happy?  What level of competitive sports did you play?  I thought so.

Why does the OP assume that…

I don't see Moussa and Houstan going pro.  They are currently grading out at 2nd round and Juwan and the staff have had a huge impact on Hunter's development.

Moussa and Houstan have so much more to learn.  They are not remotely dominant a la Kennedy Chandler.

They each have the potential to be top 15 players in the following year's draft.  Just my opinion.  Curious what others think.

keeping an injured player on…

keeping an injured player on the court that is turning the ball over and a non-factor on defense is coaching.  That was simply awful.

Agreed.

How can you not…

Agreed.

How can you not call a timeout when your point guard is limping around and is turning the ball over on offense and a liability on defense.

Hate to say it.  I love Juwan the player and person - not the coach.  Terrible 2nd half coaching.

Martellii and Beilein would have pulled Devante after second of 6 mistakes in 3 minutes that he made.  Inexcusable.

I agree, but jeeze, you guys…

I agree, but jeeze, you guys are posting this?  how about a qualifier?

Definitely wish we would call time outs on D when we are out of position.  We caught the buckeyes out of position a couple of times as well.

yes.  This is the one thing…

yes.  This is the one thing missing.  Hopefully, Harbaugh and Warde have enough leverage and commitment to NIL and can overcome a lame duck president who does not recognize what is happening with college sports and its impact on all facets of the university.

This applies to transfers too.  It's not the regents that are impeding our ability to join the 21st century.  It's our president.  I will be happy to see him gone.

Great post.  Love the…

Great post.  Love the commentary by the posters on this blog.  I keep coming back to read the posts on the board and experience the positive energy of us Wolverine fans.

Anything is possible.  We have a high likelihood that we will now be able to change the recruiting narrative, and we proved that leadership, some talented skill position players and great coaching/game planning can overcome anything.

I hope that this blog gets back to being a good place to real articles.  Alex does a good job, but Brian's negativity all year on Michigan has been an insult to our team and us fans.  Not what you expect when you come to a Michigan blog that is dominated by football fandom.

Let's get one more next week and then history has been made.  One of the three biggest victories in Michigan history without a doubt.

No doubt!  What a class act…

No doubt!  What a class act.  Hard not to admire him.

Does everyone forget that…

Does everyone forget that Cade is a redshirt sophmore?  The kid is young.  He hasn't even had one full season and every game there is a stupid made-up quarterback controversy.  I love that we have an athletic multidimensional back-up QB that is getting reps, but I am surprised that there are so many people that are disappointed in our QB play, given what we have experienced since Rudock.  No, Shea Patterson did not make good reads and did not have pocket presence.

Cade has done many things well so far this season, but he hasn't done them all in one game, with the exception being blowouts where he was pulled after throwing 11 passes.

In other words, he hasn't had enough reps throwing the ball and he is inexperienced.  He has all the tools to be a great marginally mobile QB and he seems to have the right mindset.  Let's see what he does against MSU.  That will be judgment day.

Zeb was a true freshman. …

Zeb was a true freshman.  Played well in the one tournament game that he got playing time.  Give the kid a chance.

FWIW., I think it's a bit much to call a freshman who barely played a ball hog.  Here's Juwan's perspective:

Excited for the transfer.

Agree.  The anti-big 10…

Agree.  The anti-big 10 sentiment on this blog and trash talking other schools constantly is amateurish.  Makes us look like we have nothing else to do but shxt on 18-22 year-olds to make us feel better.  Rutgers made their first NCAA tournament in 38 years, won their first game, and, put up a hell of fight, before caving in the last 10 minutes.  Give them credit for putting up a fight and wildly exceeding expectations.

The Big 10 is underperforming, and we didn't play great yesterday.  Let's hope we come out with our best game of the season tomorrow.

Our offense is terrible. It…

Our offense is terrible. It’s not just the oline. Our D blew up ND’s Oline all game.

Our play calling lost us this game. How many times did shea Patterson throw the ball downfield on first down. On obvious passing downs, why did we not use misdirection, screens, slants, etc.  Who runs on 2nd and 14, only to go for it on 4th and 7.

ND beat us by being aggressive on offense and using our speed against us. We adjusted on D in the second half, but we had a “play not to lose” offensive game plan the whole game.  We have the worst offensive play calling that you can buy. Any of us, would get fired for this sad game plan.
