Exactly who is complaining…

Exactly who is complaining about Juwan Howard? The comments are fair criticisms of the players, especially when it comes to rebounding.

Nice win by the Wolverines…

Nice win by the Wolverines. Great to see Johns break out and for the team to start making some outside shots and 3s. They need to score more than in previous years because the defense isn't the same lockdown it was.

I will say I don't agree that 1/3rd of the Rutgers offensive rebounds should be attributed to bad 3s that produce long rebounds. Good rebounding teams block out well which reduces those possibilities but in many cases I see Michigan's players just turn and look at the basket. That means if you're not the tallest or jump the highest you are unlikely to get anything not directly to you.

When will Hoke fire Borges?

The comments from the guys are great.  And as pointed out, this team battles to the end.  But there's something very wrong when this offense can't score TDs and it's Al Borges, the offensive coordinator.

It's like he picks plays out of a hat or maybe he figures out what will work best and then calls as opposite a play as possible.  We never should've needed a FG at the end and we never should've lost to that wretched ND team.  Sure, the players have to execute, but so does the coaching staff and Borges is a disaster any time we play a team with decent talent on defense.

Since when is commenting not being classy?

Michigan State played dirty.  Calling them on it is pointing out facts.  I don't think anybody here is whining or saying that's the reason the team lost.

I think most of us would agree the team lost because the players played poorly and the coaching staff made a number of awful decisions.  Why must we all just leave it alone and move on?  You have to analyze mistakes in order to correct and move past them.

Personally, I'd like this team to analyze Borges and move past him to a new offensive coordinator.  And that's not a gut reaction to one ridiculously terrible play call today, it's based on his past history as well as this season.

Coaching was AWFUL; Borges Must Go

The players didn't play well enough, that's for sure. We didn't block well enough, we didn't tackle well enough, the players lost the game. But the coaching staff was an abomination and certainly put the team in position to fail with incomprehensible decisions all afternoon. Here are just a few of the issues I have with Hoke, Borges and Co:

-Why was Borges constantly taking Denard out of the game or putting him as a wideout?
---On our second play, Gardner comes in to play QB?
---On the second play of ours 2nd possession, after going down the field the first possession for a score, Gardner comes in to play QB?
---On our first play after an MSU turnover in the 3rd quarter, Gardner comes in to play QB?

-We gambled on a fake FG on our first possession, why did we suddenly start playing scared after that?
---4th and 4 at MSU 36 in 2nd qtr, we punted with wind at our backs
---4th and 8 at MSU 37 with 1:37 left in 2nd qtr, we punted again

-Why did we choose to kick into the wind to start the 2nd half?
-In conjunction with that, why did we choose a stupid squib-type kick instead of just kicking off and tackling, like we did successfully into the wind after our TD in 1st qtr

-Why no screen passes against a team playing to get to the QB on every down no matter what?

-WHY ON EARTH WAS DENARD TRYING A FAKE PLAY ON 4TH AND INCHES? WE HAD ALL THE MOMENTUM, A 1ST DOWN GIVES US FOUR CRACKS FROM THE 9, THE DEFENSE WAS ON THEIR HEELS. THIS WAS THE WORST DECISION ON A DAY OF AWFUL DECISIONS!!!

-That's a mediocre Michigan State team. We made them look great on defense for much of the game. When we finally had a chance to steal a win that we didn't deserve, we call one of the dumbest plays I've ever seen. And it came on the heels of a slow developing run call on the previous 4th and 1 just moments earlier, which Denard saved at the last second. It's going to take a while to let this one go.
