This is a great point. Playing for hoke, and not harbaugh means the multi year starter, professional football analyst and quarterback coach who was incredibly well liked and respected by all couldn't possible have connections to the current staff, or irrespective of said connections, simply have valuable insights into the program or play of our current QB. Nailed it.
Care to elaborate on why a basketball analyst and ex nba and Michigan star wouldn't have things to talk about with a great basketball mind and Michigan coach ?
My recommendation would be to solicit feedback from variety of users...5-10 of us, and priorize some usability improvements. These people should cover the spectrum of the types of users they have, and I think they should build of set of personas based on talking to users and design around their needs. From my experience, this rollout has made reading much less conventient - both from mobile and web .
I have zero concerns about my son having a path to success in this world. It may not be paved or a free ride, but he won't face disadvantages based on his gender.
He's really making an impact on that NW staff. Great career move getting out from under beilein. I don't think anyone predicted that they'd be .500 at this point in the season.
We are 9-0, ranked number two in the nation playing on the road at Iowa, winning.
Then we can't rush for a single first down (our offensive line couldn't close it out), Darboh couldn't catch a well thrown ball, and a penalty that shouldn't have been called gives iowa field position to kick a game winning field goal. Plus like 10 other plays that would have allowed us to walk away with a win. The best teams struggle in a game or two every season.
Then, we learn that our starting quarterback broke his collarbone in that Iowa game. So we had to go on the road against OSU, expecting to do it with a guy that couldn't do anything against Iowa. But our QB (Speight) comes back and leads his team (Michigan) to what should have been a win at Ohio State if not for a very controversial call on 4th down (Look it up on the internet)...Throw insome incredibly unlucky/inonsistent officiating, maybe give us a call we deserved, or take away one of our unfortunate turnovers and, yeah - we're undefeated and in the B1G championship game...
But, him transferring sucked at the time - I always thought he had a ton of potential. Had he yet reached it, no. Is it possible he can? Yes. We were all super high on him at one time.
I think that it is important for all of us to recognize the significance of the timing of him coming out to his father. I don't think his choice to do it on that night was a coincidence, and would lead me to believe that he needed strength and acceptance from his family to help him through what was likely an upsetting and fearful night for him. This fear can't just be written off as attributable to trolls, or a small segment of our population.
Have you guys considered creating a video version fo the UFR where you annotate the video and stills and narrate?
Sometimes I have a hard time seeing the cuts that you think the running backs need to make, and I think that it would be pretty awesome to consume the UFR this way - an extended highlight real that really focuses in on key plays and assigments...
Disclaimer - I think that Brian is a great writer, I appreciate everything they do on this site and love the philosphy. This article didn't pull me in like some of the past ones have - it felt like a pretty big stretch as a metaphor. Also, I missed this key point:
At this point I urge the reader not to get all judgy about the destination.
I judged the desination - I saw Korn written 50 times and my mind shut down.
With respect to previous content, it's possible that I'm a bit more eager for the season to begin that I've been in recent years and just more desperate for info, but I've just felt as though we haven't gotten any of the more interesting analysis focused specfically on the team that I've been used to. And when I say that, I am including camp rumors and the like that are often later debunked but are satisfying at the time. Maybe it was an editorial choice on their part ot limit some of that because it's often just crap.
McCaffrey passing Peters only means that he's going to be better than Andrew Luck and follow in Jimmy Clausen's footsteps and win at least 4 Heisman trophies.

The best way to earn the respect of your team is to complain to superiors about the mean things that the big bad guy from the other team said to you.

Here's a quick recap.

He sort of looks like a big Vincent Smith on this play.

He just playfully teasing him and embarrassed of him as any son would be.

I've been reading this blog for 10 years, and this is the best preseason content they've put out, by far.
I think I'll have to spend the evening re-reading these...I'll get back to you.

This is, without question, the worst preseason content this site has pushed out in the 10 years I've been reading it.
You are saying that we have found common ground! It's a first step I suppose...
