Is your name referring to Panama City?

12/09/2018 - 2:04pm Absolutely nothing you just…

Absolutely nothing you just said invalidated my point. Beilein looked as good as gone in February of a few seasons, and pulled it together enough to ride another year.

Ohio State realizes the value of stability, this is why rather than firing Urban Meyer in a knee-jerk reaction(which a lot of people here would have done), they named his successor and played this season with him as coach. This is how Ohio State maintains an elite program.

When you make a decision to blow the whole thing up, this is when you being wandering in the wilderness. Nobody likes uncertainty.

12/09/2018 - 10:43am Have you ever been in in…

Have you ever been in in charge of operating anything? You can't look at anything in absolutes. Nothing should ever be done based on knee-jerk reactions.

This foundation is built and things are ready to keep improving. I actually hope the OSU game turns off some of the more reactionary fans from the program, because stability is how programs become great.

Remember......Beilein wasn't a great coach here until he stepped his recruiting up and got better assistant coaches(which took him like 7 years). Harbaugh isn't going to be a great coach here until he gets the right assistants in place(which he actually had last year when he hired Enos, but Alabama hired him away). With Al Washington and others in place, they will be just fine with recruiting.

I know what Harbaugh is having trouble with...... Harbaugh is a relationship guy. He plays the long game, and once you are a "Harbaugh guy", you are one of his guys for life(like Willie Taggert). To win right away in College Football, you have to do a lot of things that don't involve building relationships. He is being forced to operate at a speed that he isn't accustomed to, and still doing a pretty great job of it. Fuck, if they win the bowl game, this will be an 11 win season.

Luckily, Saban is like 70 years old so he won't be around too much longer. Saban is a big reason why Michigan is struggling more than they should be right now.

12/08/2018 - 9:37pm Hopefully Charbonnet doesn't…

Hopefully Charbonnet doesn't decommit as well.

12/08/2018 - 9:33pm Yep, all of the good players…

Yep, all of the good players are in a logjam at a couple different schools and it doesn't seem to mean much.

12/08/2018 - 2:46pm Any commits expected?

Any commits expected?

12/06/2018 - 10:59pm I would imagine it's going…

I would imagine it's going to be 5+ years before anything is built on the site. That site needs quite a bit of drainage planning and underground work, and whatever is developed will probably incorporate the Colisseum site along with the actual Fingerle Storefront space and barn across John Street. With all these crappy lumberyard buildings gone, that area is going to be significantly different and improved once they develop it.

12/06/2018 - 10:49pm They'll have to spend a lot…

They'll have to spend a lot of money getting this site ready to develop, but it will be worth it for UofM. They don't really have many other acquisition options within close proximity of Central Campus anymore.

12/06/2018 - 10:35pm This parcel probably wouldn…

This parcel probably wouldn't be large enough for something like that. And they made it pretty clear that this was an expansion of Central Campus, not the Athletic Campus.

All of these parcels together could be a campus for its own small academic unit. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they decide to build a whole new department here.

12/06/2018 - 9:11pm I assume you're also going…

I assume you're also going to say we should remove sanctions from Venezuela?

Bottom line, if a Dictator comes to power and nationalizes things which belong to the US or US Companies, they should never expect any sympathy.

12/06/2018 - 8:53pm Brazil is a place that needs…

Brazil is a place that needs a little law and order. Everything there was a bit too relaxed, and things were a mess. There is good reason they elected the new guy.

12/06/2018 - 8:50pm I have also been to Brazil,…

I have also been to Brazil, and it's not like crime is rampant there outside of the bad areas. I can't imagine they are taking these guys to the Favelas.

12/06/2018 - 8:49pm I went to Cuba once, and…

I went to Cuba once, and probably will never go again. All there was to do was drink mojitos and have sex with prostitutes. You couldn't even buy weed.

12/06/2018 - 10:48am I agree. Divisions are…

I agree. Divisions are useless at this point.

12/06/2018 - 10:47am I mean like arrest you for…

I mean like arrest you for getting caught going through airport security with a small bag of pot or coke. You may get selected for more screening, but I really doubt they are arresting you for it.

12/06/2018 - 10:34am There have been medical…

There have been medical dispensaries here for 8 years. And it sounds like it will be late next year before the recreational ones appear here.

12/06/2018 - 10:18am Interstate Commerce gives…

Interstate Commerce gives regulation to the Feds, where it is still illegal.

The way to get around this is to buy a bunch of weed gummies. Nobody has a clue about those things.

However, as someone who has brought drugs on airplanes quite a few times, they really aren't looking that hard. I actually wonder if they would do anything.

12/06/2018 - 10:13am You are wrong again. The…

You are wrong again. The choice is whether you would trade your current situation for one where you had your genitals touched for $3M. There isn't a choice about your genitals being touched should you choose that route.

Basically, it's asking whether you would trade your current situation for one where you are $3M richer and never have to work anymore. Once that big check hits their accounts, I bet every bit of unpleasantness related to the experience will quickly melt away as they sit on a beach in Thailand and party for the next 10 years.

Based on the poll, that opinion has 50% popularity(which is more than enough to win a presidential election).

12/06/2018 - 8:48am I dunno, now that they've…

I dunno, now that they've received their settlement payments we aren't hearing much from them. What we're seeing now is that this was a lot bigger deal when there was no financial compensation being given to them.

Here's a survey for everyone to take anonymously!

12/05/2018 - 8:28pm I'm absolutely not saying…

I'm absolutely not saying these girls are turning out fine at all. But I believe $3M more than makes up the difference between "Fine" and "Not Fine".

12/05/2018 - 8:25pm I'm not disagreeing with a…

I'm not disagreeing with a single thing you've said.

The fact remains that $3M buys a person a lot of freedom and can alleviate a lot of unpleasantness.

12/05/2018 - 7:49pm The scenario clearly says…

The scenario clearly says the words, "against your will." Reading is fundamental.

12/05/2018 - 7:47pm I have no affection for Jon…

I have no affection for Jon Engler, and have no intention to defend him. He's a nothing as far as I'm concerned.

12/05/2018 - 7:45pm That simply isn't the…

That simply isn't the slightest bit true. I am looking at a couple of Commercial Real Estate deals right now where a $3M upfront cash down payment would provide about $450k in yearly NOI every year going forward. And this is just a check deposited into your account from the manager. You could permanently travel the globe and just withdraw money from your ATM whenever you needed, without really having to worry about touching the $3M.

Are you saying $450k per year isn't enough to live on?

12/05/2018 - 7:29pm Here is how I would frame…

http://www.easypolls.net/poll.html?p=5c0880e9e4b0939f3b71c925

Here is how I would frame the question......

"You would have your penis touched from the age of 16-18 against your will by an unattractive 55 year old lady who you trust. At the age of 25, you would receive $3M and never have to work again for the rest of life. You can travel and socialize and live carefree for the remainder of existence without ever worrying about money.

Would you trade your current situation for the above scenario? Yes or No?"

I guarantee 80%+ of respondents here would say "Yes" in a completely anonymous survey. I definitely would.

12/05/2018 - 7:23pm The reason I assume most…

The reason I assume most have no direction in life is because most of these girls choose to forego meaningful education and career training to focus on Gymnastics growing up. They make decent money in competition and the Olympics, but you really only compete once or twice. $300k is a lot of money to a 16 year old, but that isn't going to last you forever(however, it will prevent further growth through your formative years).

12/05/2018 - 7:08pm If someone took a poll, I…

If someone took a poll, I bet you'd get at least 80% "Yes" on this board to that proposed scenario.......

12/05/2018 - 7:00pm MSU has plenty to make fun…

MSU has plenty to make fun of, but let's not act like they should just give everybody a permanent blank check because of this stuff.

Frankly, these girls are all washed up gymnasts and most probably had no direction in life and all of a sudden are now receiving a $3M windfall and never have to work again for the rest of their lives.

I'll tell you this..... I would be totally ok with a creepy old lady touching my genitals for a couple years if it ended up coming with a $3M windfall.......

12/05/2018 - 4:14pm Now that everything else is…

Now that everything else is so messed up, I would actually be in favor of playing Michigan-OSU at a different time of year(which would obviously have to happen if they made this change). The fact that The Game is now stuck being played the day after Thanksgiving when all students are out of town on each campus is doing serious harm to the rivalry. While Students hear about it still, it just isn't the same.

12/05/2018 - 8:58am Meyer didn't quit. Meyer was…

Meyer didn't quit. Meyer was forced out and given a job with the AD so one of his guys didn't spill the beans on his pay for play scheme.

12/04/2018 - 10:25pm Is the conventional wisdom…

Is the conventional wisdom still saying Zach Harrison to UofM? Or is that no longer the case after OSU?

This is really good news. I feel like an actual elite OT is the one thing UofM is truly missing at this point. If we had Isaiah Wilson this year, things would have been even better.

12/04/2018 - 2:26pm So he's basically being paid…

So he's basically being paid to keep his mouth shut in the future...... And to keep Zach Smith in line.

12/03/2018 - 7:22pm We need recruits, and a…

We need recruits, and a dominating bowl victory over a SEC team will do that for us. Absolutely a huge game, and need to win it by 21+. Then the floodgates will open up for us with few guys we are still pursuing.

12/03/2018 - 11:18am This is a terrible title. Of…

This is a terrible title. Of course we play Florida more than most of the Big Ten West does.....

12/02/2018 - 7:29pm I like the idea of someone…

I like the idea of someone coming up through the system rather than just bringing in some wildcard hire which everybody here seems to favor doing for some odd reason. This is much better for recruiting and continuity. And this way if someone leaves, recruits don't automatically jump ship.

12/02/2018 - 7:11pm Fuck. Yes.

Fuck. Yes.

12/02/2018 - 3:15pm The situation you just…

The situation you just described seems like it could happen to a lot of people in the Kareem Hunt thread a couple days ago........ Bando and Laser Wolf? Those guys would get cheated on and invite the guy who did it over for tea afterward.

I agree, but he looks more polished than I imagine Jordan was as a HS sophomore.

If we played Ohio State at a neutral site or at home, that game would have been a win.

Agreed completely. This one is a real head scratcher, and anyone who actually has any real life experience watches that and knows he isn't some monster.
