1 win over a depleted rival,…

1 win over a depleted rival, and now he's the best coach in the country?  Let's see how the rest of the year plays out, shall we?

Difference being that…

Difference being that Dantonio has a few BIG 10 titles and BCS bowl wins in his trophy case.

Why would Gary even be on…

Why would Gary even be on the short list?  He's been a non-factor so far this season.  1.5 tackles for loss through 3 games?  Like Kiper said in his updated Big Board today after he dropped him, he disappears far too often.  Winovich can stake a claim to be right amongst the top.

You actually wasted the time…

You actually wasted the time to type this up?  This thread is nonsense.  It's a noise violation.  They happen 50-100 times each weekend at every college in America.  Be better.

"Luck" would be appropriate…

"Luck" would be appropriate if it happened once.  As it is, it's a trend.  It becomes a trend by having great coaching and players believing that they will win.  It's happened so many times, that they have a built in confidence that when the going gets tough, they'll find a way to win.

It's simply something that we need to develop.  It needs to happen once, twice, and then all of a sudden you start developing an inherent belief.

The OP's statistics are…

The OP's statistics are misleading.  When the universal media references the 0-17 record in our last 17 games against ranked opponents on the road, they're talking about when we played them, not where they finished at the end of bowl season.  Where they end in January is irrelevant to their ranking the night of the game in question.

That being said, the stats would look like this:

Michigan State: 6-10

Additional wins in 2010 @ UM, 2012 @ Wisc, 2016 @ ND, and 2017 @ UM

Penn State: 2-12

Removing win against NW

Wisconsin: 4-8

Additional wins in 2008 @ Fresno St, 2010 @ Iowa, 2013 @ Minnesota, and 2016 @ MSU
