07/19/2018 - 5:04pm Did you forget Tim Ream?…

Did you forget Tim Ream? Fulham’s player of the year in their promotion from the Championship back to the Premier League and can play both CB and LB. He’ll be 34 but I could still see him making the squad depending on injuries and...lack of other options

07/18/2018 - 2:24pm I noticed the other day…

I noticed the other day while driving on Stadium that the new practice field is done and also has the blue endzones. Beautiful

There is a lot to like about this young crop of Midfielder talent, especially with McKennie and Adams. I can see McKennie anchoring the US midfield for the next 10 years.

I'll be interested to see Keaton Parks develop at Benfica as well. If he can break into the starting eleven, he'll have some great opportunities at Champions League matches as well.

Whatever is happening at FC Dallas' Youth Academy needs to be captured by US Soccer and replicated. They are turning out loads of talent.

07/17/2018 - 11:48am Wisconsin is bringing Brooks…

Wisconsin is bringing Brooks Bollinger, who is a 15th year senior and a real leader for the young guys.

07/16/2018 - 2:34pm The only omission that…

The only omission that stands out is George Acosta, who signed with Boca Juniors just after he turned 18 in April. Occasionally he's listed as a midfielder but I think he's more of an attacker.

He just got his first U-20 MNT call-up the other day but has played with the Under 17's in the past, including the U-17 World Cup squad in India.

07/03/2018 - 7:52am Eaton can be *both* a good…

Eaton can be *both* a good person and have bad ideas on how to run the city. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

His fear mongering regarding crime is patently ridiculous, though. Why is he still taking Dahlmann's money? $6500 since 2010

07/02/2018 - 7:35pm Eaton is a clown and…

Eaton is a clown and District 4 should feel bad.

06/28/2018 - 1:00pm There has been some talk of…

There has been some talk of doing a secondary draw after the Group Stage to avoid issues like this. However, with the travel arrangements, tickets, etc that would be very difficult, especially in countries like Russia or 2026 in the USA/CAN/MEX.

06/28/2018 - 10:26am Whatever happens, this will…

Whatever happens, this will be one very lopsided bracket. Saturday's matches will be great (France/Argentina and Uruguay/Portugal).

Senegal/Colombia is heating up...some good chances from both teams.

BRB going to go scream into a field about the 2002 World Cup handball again.

06/27/2018 - 3:47pm Thanks for posting this...I…

Thanks for posting this...I tried earlier but apparently I can't start threads any more.

Awful World Cup from Germany...lead for a total of 2:30 in three matches. 2 minutes, 30 seconds.

Yes, I'm having the same issue in Chrome.

06/23/2018 - 12:59pm Rae and Wagner are good…

Rae and Wagner are good...otherwise I watch on Telemundo.

Studio analysis and the recap show has been absolutely awful.

06/23/2018 - 12:50pm Mexico counterattack on that…

Mexico counterattack on that second goal was beautiful. South Korea with some ugly fouls here down the stretch.

06/22/2018 - 6:26pm Oh yeah the Albanian Eagle…

Oh yeah the Albanian Eagle goal celebration is a really big deal

06/22/2018 - 3:49pm Gooooooooooal Switzerland…

Gooooooooooal Switzerland. What a match!!!!!

06/22/2018 - 12:45pm Oh Gylfi no....missed…

Oh Gylfi no....missed penalty in the 82nd minute. Nigeria with a few minutes to kill the match now. That counterattack is lethal

06/22/2018 - 12:34pm For sure, volleys are always…

For sure, volleys are always cool. He got subbed off after the head wrap...should be 5-6 minutes of stoppage time at least.

06/22/2018 - 12:09pm Sweet first touch and cool…

Sweet first touch and cool finish from Musa. 1-0 Nigeria. Great counterattack

06/22/2018 - 11:12am Nigeria's kits are so great…

Nigeria's kits are so great. I wish Nike were as creative with all of their soccer designs rather than the boring templates they use for most countries.

06/22/2018 - 10:51am Time wasting is part of the…

Time wasting is part of the game, of course. But CR's time wasting was getting a bit embarrassing towards the end.

But yeah, CR is always, always a tough match-up, especially with Navas, who is so good.

06/22/2018 - 10:42am Tough one for Costa Rica,…

Tough one for Costa Rica, who are always a difficult match. Neymar is such an incredible player but my God the constant flopping is so aggravating.

06/21/2018 - 2:08pm Agreed--some low percentages…

Agreed--some low percentage shots (though that one went off the bar) and just missing the final touch on passes near the box. Guerrero needed to convert that chance early on. His first touch looked off today and Saturday...he hasn't played much at all since the suspension and it showed.

I thought Farfan should have started alongside him.

06/21/2018 - 1:22pm Really disappointing for…

Really disappointing for Peru...should have beaten Denmark on Saturday were good enough for a draw today. A cruel game, same as Morocco found out yesterday.

Hope it's not another 36 years before Peru is back.

Vamos Peru! Asked my wife how she's feeling ahead of the match "Barfy".

A hair offside...heartbreaking for them.

Huh I thought everyone had a star on their own user name when logged in. I didn't realize you could see it.

I think it's because I have elevated rights (I think?) because I occasionally cover Soccer for the site and need to post #content

Actually I won the 1926 World Cup.

06/20/2018 - 1:01pm Dellacamera is awful. I don…

Dellacamera is awful. I don't mind Derrick Rae but 80% of the matches I watch on Telemundo.

06/20/2018 - 9:56am Tough break for Morocco…

Tough break for Morocco...first team out of the World Cup. They desperately need a striker.

06/20/2018 - 8:51am Morocco has had some good…

Morocco has had some good chances in the first half. I think they're good for a goal in the second half...too bad Ronaldo probably is, too.

Nice M Nation flag in the crowd after that last Russia goal.

06/19/2018 - 1:07pm This will be good...looking…

This will be good...looking forward to a new school KS CC ball is legit...Coffeyville CC is pretty close to there as well.

06/14/2018 - 3:09pm I think if they can force a…

I think if they can force a draw with Denmark they have a chance. Both will (probably?) lose to France and beat Australia...could come down to Goal Differential.

Getting Guerrero back was huge, obviously. Keeper and defense are both solid but if it comes down to GD with Denmark, they might not have the offensive firepower to put 3-4-5 in vs Australia.

06/14/2018 - 11:10am Vamos Peru! A popular…

Vamos Peru! A popular outsider pick now...If they can manage a draw with Denmark on Saturday, I think they can move into the second round.

My not very confident pick is Germany. France could it it all over lose all three matches...neither would surprise me. Looking forward to a great month of soccer.

Last World Cup I did most of the opening of daily threads but work being much busier this time around, someone else might have to take the lead.

06/11/2018 - 1:17pm A few recent books I've…

A few recent books I've liked:

-The North Water by Ian McGuire. Maybe too dark for a summer read, but it's really, really well written and pretty terrifying.

-The Tsar of Love and Techno by Anthony Marra.

-The Shell Collector by Anthony Doerr. Great collection of short stories.

06/11/2018 - 12:32pm City of Thieves was really…

City of Thieves was really interesting!

Interestingly, the book was written by Game of Thrones co-showrunner/creator David Benioff and was written essentially about his grandfather.

I spent a week at Banfield's one night.

I was about to sign up to The Athletic, but then they announced Rick Reilly.

It's very terrible and First World Probs of me to want my perfectly fine LG HDTV to die so I can get a 4K. This thing might be indestructible.

05/24/2018 - 1:39pm Staying Home

After being on the road four of the last six weeks for work, I'm happy to be staying home.

Firing up the smoker, going to have one or 15 G&T's, maybe a few beers, maybe some Han Solo tomorrow afternoon. My last conference call is over at 12pm tomorrow...not that I'm counting or anything

05/23/2018 - 3:05pm Delta 88

My second car was one I purchased from my Grandparents...1987 Delta '88. 3.8L V6, velour interior, it was a true beauty.

This car took me everywhere...great in the snow and that V6 seriously moved. Did I put a Pioneer CD player and 6x9's in it? You bet I did.

05/21/2018 - 1:31pm Mulch

Man I hated doing mulch as a kid with my dad. It always smelled terrible and always seemed to be the hottest week of the year.

05/02/2018 - 4:43pm Dickerson

Dickerson is great...No one compares with Ernie but Dan Dickerson, as a radio guy, is one of my favorites.

04/27/2018 - 1:45pm Don Brown:

Solve Your Problems with Pint Glasses of Espresso.

04/20/2018 - 3:05pm Lottery

Congrats it's triplets!

I don't think I like your tone!

I'm not mad, I'm disappointed

04/20/2018 - 2:02pm Been waiting

Been waiting for this, Ace. Really great tribute to a guy who became one of my favorite Michigan players ever this season.

04/20/2018 - 1:27pm Smart

Smart move on his part--gets to participate and, as Ace said, find out where he needs to improve.

04/20/2018 - 12:19pm BC

I went to the BC/FSU game in Boston this year and and the only way I could sit through it was by drinking $8 Bud Heavy's. That said, I'm not sure if I'd like Michigan to sell during games. Plus you can always just pack a flask*

*Not that I ever would. Ever. Certainly not.

04/19/2018 - 12:45pm Counterstrike

Has anyone checked Counterstrike?

04/19/2018 - 9:40am Lol

My favorite thing around town now is seeing a 20 year old with a $55,000 BMW SUV drop $150 in "groceries" at Lucky's.

I went to undergrad in Manhattan. We ate lots of ramen and easy mac. Another tip: go to all those events the RA's throw...there is always lots of free food.
