Believe me, I've done all those things

I don't think I've missed a thread on this site in weeks.  It just seemed information was coming fast and now things have really slowed down.

I'm just hungry for some info.  I know guys are on visits elsewhere this weekend so hopefully TomVH hooks it up tomorrow.  The DC situation is making me wonder on why it is taking so long.  Hoping we hear soon.

Since the Packers are winning big

he will still be coaching so I think that automatically eliminates him since we need someone yesterday!

I realize this is not about the o-line

but I don't have enough points to start a new thread.  I'm really curious how long it is going to take to hire the DC.  It's essential for recruiting to get that going.

Are they waiting for playoffs this weekend because they are interested in some of those coaches?

Would Vance even be interested?

I am all over this site and I am just not seeing much buzz over who the DC will be or when.  I also would love to have a recruiting update.

I live in San Diego

and on the way to work yesterday Turley was on the local sports talk show.  He ripped Brady a new ass hole big time.  I have never called into a radio show but if I had the number I would have in order to defend Hoke.  Turley is a dumbass.  The things he were saying were not fair.

Brady told SDSU Um was his dream job when he interviewed-he didnt hide anything.  He got his shot and he took it.  He didn't backstab anyone and do you really think someone would turn down UM for SDSU especially when it is their dream job.  The text he sent Brady just shows his character.  "FU Brady and I hope you lose every game" is very classy!

So far I have been impressed with Brady and I think he is handling things well.

Auburns Coach

"We have the best alumni, staff, fans, and players"

Yes, you have the best players money will buy.  Should be interesting down the road when the NCAA gets around to figuring it all out.

Regardless, they were the better team tonight.

If it is

LM, I am most curious about who he brings and what UM is willing to pay the assistants.  My fear is mutiny against Miles and all the assistants decide to stay with the new LSU coach that is hired.  LM without his staff is a swing and a miss!

Game announcement

They had an ingame announcement that Les Miles is interviewing tomorrow and sources say (hilarious) that if offered he will accept.  I believe this source leak is Les's way of either saying he is gone or stiff arming DB if DB has not actually offered yet.

Even if DB has hired Les, it makes sense that only DB would be on that plane to get ready for tomorrow and get a good night sleep with tomorrow bringing the finality to it all.  LM has a speech tomorrow and if hired would probably get on a plane to AA direclty after.

Just logical thoughts that mean nothing until DB speaks.

Any DB sightings at the BB game?

I know the coaching search is more important than one game but I bet it is tough for him to miss it if he is not there.

Uncle, Uncle DB

I give up, you win.  I don't care who you hire.  Just make the shakes go away please!

Whatever it takes to pass the time!

A case to start and I will go from there.

6 Hours Of MgoBlog and No Beer=Emergency Run to L Store

First Corona cracked, I'm feeling better already after having taken clumps of my hair out hourly.  To say this is consuming me would be an understatement.  I have a great wife, three beautiful kids, live in San Diego, but without a coach I am empty.  I have some issues to deal with!

In the Cleveland paper (article) about Gruden

it is mentioned that one thing keeping him in Tampa is his son will be a senior in hs and plays qb and lb.  It also says Gruden helps coach and that he is still being paid by Tampa from his previous contract.  Money (because he is still being paid and therefore is not hurting with the MNF gig too) and family (son's football) appear to be some obstacles for any coaching position for him.

Not only that but why set ourselves up for the proverbially dong punch that will occur when we get our hopes up and realize we were just being dumbasses for thinking it was possible.

If DB was going

to hire Hoke, I think it would have already happened.  He knows Hoke would accept and he knows it would help recruiting and end the speculation.  Therefore, I think he is out scouring every big name he can get a hold of.  DB might also be doing what he did with leaking the BIG 10 divisional thing and see that Hoke would not cut it with the fan base.

He knows anything less won't make up for having lost Harbaugh.  How sweet would it be to get a huge name and pay him more than harbaugh is getting with the 49ers showing everyone that M is serous about winning and getting the right coach!

What side would be better

If you are DB, would you rather make the majority of the fan base mad and past players/ath department happy by hiring Hoke or would you rather please most of the fanbase and risk pissing off your peers int he department by hiring Les?

I have no inside information but if we did not even give LM a look last time around, you have to believe there are some giant sized skeletons in that closet.

If memory serves me correctly

Gruden has always publicly squashed any rumors when his name comes up.  ND and Miami come to mind.  Anyone heard from Chuckie this past week?

I have to think To Many Miles and Old School Hoke are fallback options and DB is talking to some homeruns promising some serious money.  If I were DB I would rather swing and miss with a huge name rather than second choices.

I realize everyone under the sun has been turning us down but the lack of other names out there actually gives me hope as backwards as that sounds.

DB has got to realize

by hiring Hoke that the UM contingent would be pissed unless he gets some big time assistants to come with him including an o coordinator that is spread friendly (similar to LSU's offense/power/spread).  In that scenario it would appease a lot of people, get people excited, help with transfers, and be the best of all worlds with a Michigan Man coach and new blood with the coordinators.

I wonder if that is what is happening right now.  DB goes to Hoke and says sell me by letting me know your coaches so I don't get slaughtered when I hire you.

It would be interesting

to see what the Buckeye fans were saying when Tressel was hired.  There were no blogs or message boards back then.  They would probably eat him alive like many people are eating Hoke alive.  Les Miles may be a good coach but I feel he is an embarrassment waiting to happen again and again.

I think DB is too classy to even consider Les and I think Les knows DB doesn't like him so he goes on national tv saying he has no interest to save face.

I'm just ready to move on from Harbaugh

I hope that tweet is true!  Not because I don't like Harbough but rather I am tired of hearing about him turning down every job and giving us M fans hope.  JH needs to say yes somewhere so we can put a fork in him and move on!

I don't think so

I don't see UM doing the most covert coaching search in history and showing up in this plane in Baton Rouge.  Makes absolutely no sense especially the day of their game.

Luck coming back will make it tougher for JH

I think JH is a proud man and seeing his qb make a ballsy decision to come back just might inspire him to do the same and stay at Stanford for one more year.  On top of that it looks like Stanford threw the bank at him today.

I also wonder if JH stock is going down with the NFL's teams with what he wants.  Our leverage may be increasing but it is still a long shot.

What I don't understand about Harbaugh

I get the argument that JH possibly wants the challenge of winning in the NFL.  What I don't get is him chasing the money.  I don't know how long UM's offer is to him but if the reports of 5.2 mil/year are accurate (even if its for five years) I would think that would be more than enough to get him if it was truly his dream.  I've been very dissapointed to see now that all the good looking girls want to date him that what used to matter to him has gone out the window.

He will never have to worry about money and the risk of failing in the NFL (the majority do) as compared to the very good chance of being a legend in college footbal and at UM just doesn't make sense to me.  Can anyone paint a clear picture why the money of the Dolphins seems to be outweighing the opportunity and challenge to bring your beloved team back to the top?

I live in San Diego (Brady Hoke warning)

and I'm a diehard Um fan and reader of this blog everyday for three years (just now signing up).  I obviously listen to the SD sports radio to hear the opinions of people regarding Hoke.  I'm not enamored with the guy for all the reasons people have stated but I will say this.  I have never heard anyone out here, a past player, or someone who knows him say anything but great things.

Everyone out here loves the guy and they can not stand the thought of losing him.  They were up in arms today because it was reported he did not buy a house here and only rents demonstrating he never intended to stay long.  I don't like the idea of the dark age Michigan coach yet if he can get an o coordinator that is progressive and d coordinator with a pedigree of succes, then I think he would have a fighting chance.  The players as SDSU love him, everyone says he is a great recruiter, and the praise he gets from past coaching mates is impressive.

Beyond all that, the thing that would prevent me from pulling my hair out were he hired is this: his dream is to be the coach at UM, he has told everyone forever, and anyone who has that much passion for the university and team should get some slack when it comes to lack of experience or age (my humble opinion)

I had no choice

I was born into a rabid Michigan family and got hooked before I knew I had a choice.  I have visited this site everyday for over three years now and after the recent craziness I made the decision to create an account because I know the mindset of posters on here better than I know all of my cousins personally.  Lately, my work and family life have been suffering due to the coaching search.  I get the shakes if I don't visit this site atleast once an hour.  A few weeks ago I said my New Years Resolution would be to only visit this site once a day but that is like asking an alcoholic to only have one drink-it ain't happening.

I feel much better now to admit it and be among my fellow miserable UM fans!
