ALWAYS get the bigger truck: ALWAYS. You have more shit than you realize. You're not as good at Tetris as you think. Get the bigger truck.
This.
We took a two-pronged approach. First, we rented one of U-haul's enclosed trailers and made a few trips with the trailer full of the smaller things - boxed items up to light furniture and beds. The trailers are flat-rate, about $30 for the 6 x 12' for 24 hours.
Then we did this...
Hire an in-town moving company. After you account for the truck, pizza and beer for your friends you will probably come out ahead. Plus you probably won't burn a bunch of favors.
...to move all of the large, heavy, awkward furniture. That alone was a few hundred dollars but very worth it especially if you have large items (furniture) in a basement or second story.
However, all of this depends on how much $ you want to spend, how quickly you need to get moved and how much manual effort you want to contribute.
Also don't forget to bring your patience - moving is stressful af for everyone involved.
Take a look at the Chrysler 300 or Dodge Charger. Right around 300hp (might be 295hp or 305hp depending on configuration). The 3.6L V6 and 8-speed transmission combo is solid and should be able to push near 30mpg highway. AWD is available and so is the Hemi V8 (370hp/395lbft) but on current models those are mutually exclusive. Big car, big trunk, the Chrysler is probably the smoother ride of the two.
Not sure if it's been suggested yet, but I have Twitter alerts set up for the @MGoBlog account. When a new post occurs, there's typically a corresponding tweet within minutes. I admit it might not be an ideal solution because it tweets more than just posts, but may be a good workaround for now.
Although probably not a fit for Michigan, I’d be curious to see what Odom could do with P5 talent. UMBC was a complete dud prior to his arrival, granted the America East isn’t the B1G, but now they regularly compete for league championships.
Can't agree enough with this. I did like the occasional "crossover episodes" where DD was on TV and Mario was on the radio but they never felt like a good permanent solution.
Great piece, especially for anyone as busy as bronxblue that might still getting spun up on things for the season.
It seems like the general feeling this preseason can be summed up as cautious optimism. We're pretty certain we'll be better record-wise than last season, but not sure how much better. We're pretty sure that we have a quarterback, but we'll get back to you on that after ND.
Personally, I think 10-2 is more likely than 9-3, but perhaps just marginally.
are approaching TV Ted levels. He has that piece of paper for a first down check in the NFL a few weeks back and then tonight, spends an eternity looking for any reason to give it to Purdue and comes over to the announcers table with “2 frames”??
It’s been a while since I’ve played, but I think they had instituted some fair play rules for online games where they forced you to punt on 4th down, etc. Or maybe that was Madden...
I have season tickets in the same section as her and can confirm everything stated. The "cape" is actually a Maize and Blue Canadian flag made famous during the Stauskus era.
FWIW, weren't most of the other 10 guys on the field with Morris in the ASU game from the second unit? Curious to see how he looks with some weapons, mainly Funchess, in there. At least giving him a shot is starting to seem reasonable.
I hate to be that guy that calls for a QB change after game 2, but man this loss hurts.

Vince intensifies, "that's such good shit!!!"
Ah, yes. Nothing like a few trips up and down the stairs carrying boxes to activate maximum bowel overdrive.
We had the TP on hand, but nothing to wash up or dry off with after. Luckily there was some emergency hand sanitizer to use as a workaround.
Also some hand soap and towels.
Just completed a similar distance move.

Fair point. ~25% less space is a significant reduction.
I think someone else mentioned it, but if you don't require AWD the Impala has a larger backseat and trunk than the 300. I'm pretty sure its FWD only.

Edit: forgot to add - yes, hire Juwan.

You’re a saint.
Humor is my coping mechanism.
I appreciate this reference.
I think you misspelled "Rutger".
"Detroiters" is one of the most underappreciated shows in the last couple of years.
Do people even know that Mort Crim was the inspiration for Ron Burgundy?

Have you found out anything? I'll be in Portland for opening weekend and am also looking for the local UM crowd.
and was upset because his track record with predicting anything is poor IMO.
Hoping he's wrong on this one.
Edit: I hope he is correct - I want him to be less wrong than he normally is is what I meant.
Ace deserved better, Gene.
Great idea btw.
Job. Well. Done.
my favorite thread of all-time.
the biscuits are cash money. Don't really care for seafood, but the cajun chicken alfredo is pretty good too.
was confirmed by Sergio Marchionne yesterday but won't be on display at the show this year.

@KirkHerbstreit: “@BCrandall11_9: @KirkHerbstreit is Rob Chudzinski going to be next OC for UofM?” No, current OC in college. That's it. Good pm
Quote from a local who notices me in my gear at Wendy's: "This is Kentucky, be we ain't Louisville."
From a basketball standpoint I'm not that concerned over this loss, except for the overwhelming feeling of disappointment for the seniors.
"Terone Johnson is the other starting guard and is by far Purdue's least efficient backcourt member."
The dude averages 7.x ppg and goes off for 22 by throwing up tons of garbage and getting everything to fall.
Offensively we didn't look horrible, Hardaway could have had a better game.
We have two winnable games remaining even though they are road games. A first round bye in the B1G Tourny is not out of the picture.
