They should always check…

They should always check with me first on these things.

Lakeyale13 thanks for posting this.  I could not agree more.  When Dylan saw his name listed 3rd on depth chart he knew it was game over.  He is smart, knew the offense, could read the defense, could run and run the RPO.  We would have beaten MSU and maybe Indiana with either Dylan or Cade.

not sure if it was Harbaugh or Gattis that picked Joe over the other 2 guys, but I don't blame Dylan for transferring.  Northwestern is thriving with a smart, 5th year guy at QB.  Dylan could end up at NW and run their true spread.

Great point and true!

I think Dylan McCaffery…

I think Dylan McCaffery somewhere right now laughing out loud.   He should have been appointed as QB of this team.  He had the most experience, he ran the team pretty well, he could run (the RPO with success),  he could throw and he is smart enough to read defenses.

If Gattis picked Joe and Cade over Dylan and Harbaugh bought that, then shame on Harbaugh.  If Harbaugh anointed Joe and Cade over Dylan than shame on Harbaugh.  We will look back on that moment as one of the huge blusters of Harbaugh's tenure.

Also, what happened to "Speed in Space"?  I see the old, long developing plays that allow the defense to set up shop in Joe's front porch.  The offense looks like we progressed all the way to Jim's first year of NFL style plays.

Perhaps you noticed the refs…

Perhaps you noticed the refs were wearing a patch on their jersey's that said Bart on them.  They are honoring a man who passed away recently, quickly and unexpectedly from Pancreatic cancer.  Bart Wegenke was the high school principal here at Haslett High School.  He also a well respected college basketball  referee, along with his twin brother, Bret.

He was a great man who impacted students, teachers, administrators, friends in positive ways.  A true leader.

Good form for his referee colleagues to recognize him and help bring Pancreatic cancer.

I completely agree.  I don't…

I completely agree.  I don't think he was offered to stay.  Juwan felt like he was a good enough D coach.  They were fun to watch plat D under Yaklich.  He understood the college game and how to defend it.

This Bball team looks very different under Juwan than Belien.  There is no accountability. Way too many turnovers and poor shot selection.  He refuses to get in guys grills for making multiple mistakes.

It appears he is willing to make some changes away from his NBA defense and double in the post and play help defense.  I was sorry he did not retain the defensive coach JB had his last 2 years.  They would have won a couple of games with better defense.   I hope he continues to listen and learn.

Too bad Wagner has to play so much.  he is 2 years away from being a difference maker.  If he cant knock down 3s he cant hep them.

Agreed!  I think Juwan…

Agreed!  I think Juwan considers himself a defensive minded coach but I was surprised the guy from Belien's staff from last year was either not offered a job or chose not to stay. Can't come up with his name but he was a difference maker on defense.

Juwan has brought a…

Juwan has brought a different offense, far less point guard penetration and cutting and more perimeter passing.  M scored in bunches when App State played zone D.  That is when Eli made a lot of his 3's in left corner.   The won't see zone in BgT and Eli won't get those open looks.  Hopefully he/they will find diff opportunities to score.

When App State ramped up the pressure in second half M did not match the intensity.  I had hoped to see Juwan light a fire in those guys but Mr Nice guy stayed Mr Nice Guy.  I hope his assistant coaches coach up Juwan to let him know he needs to be the ignitor late in games to get the guys to player at a level greater than they would play on their own.

Good to see so many guys get a chance!

One more kid who is probably…

One more kid who is probably not getting good advice from home.  Probably hearing "you are better than the guys ahead of you.  They don't appreciate you so you should transfer" rather than "keep working hard and do what the coaches ask of you".

Probably the same message all the other transfers are getting from home.  Bad parenting or bad influencers.  Quitters will keep quitting.

I hate that these kids are…

I hate that these kids are leaving the team.  No other way to look at it but to say they are quitting.  not on the team but on themselves. If they quit now they will probably spend the rest of their lives quitting. probably getting bad advice from someone who has only seen them succeed but don't want them to fail or struggle.  Allowing kids to quit is teaching them to fail.  if things don't always go your way then just quit and don't try to get better or make something good happen.

I would love to know the conversations Harbaugh has with these kids.  I hope he encourages these kids to stick it out and compete before letting them leave.

A really bad trend here.  Upperclassmen need to intervene and coach them up on a personal level.

Urban Meyer

Urban Meyer hired Indiana's fired HC to be his OC.  WIlson ran the up-tempo spread that played at a million miles an hour with average players.  Now he is running same offense with 4 and 5 star guys.  Fast, fast ,fast.

3rd Yr Comparison

By comparison Brady Hoke, in his 3rd year was 7-6 afer going 11-2 and 8-5.  Got worse every year.  Mark Dantonio went 7-6, 9-4, 6-7 then 11-2 his 4th year then won the BT in his 4th year. James Frankil went 7-6, 7-6, 11-3 with a Big Ten  Championship and all the crap that went with Penn State.  Urban Meyer went 12-0 (and could have won the Nat Champ if not for sanctions, 12-2,  14-1 BT and Nat Champs, 12-1, 11-2, 6-1.  His worst yearas a head coach he was 8-5 his last year at FL.

Based on these coaches as recent history and geographically close, it appears year 3 and 4 are the tide turning years.  UM can still go 10-2 but 8-4 is more likely and 7-5 possible.  But next year.......

Not a Michign Man

Grant Perry was arrested in December in EL on 4 counts of sexual assault, lying to a police officer and resisting arrest.  He vomited in his cell and denied any involvement.  That to me, or anyone else, is not being a Michigan man.  At least not in the sense Bo meant it.

Harbaugh should have kicked him off the team permanantly but his response was "he is a good football player".  Bad precidence set here.

I agree.  I was wondering if

I agree.  I was wondering if he was going to volunteer to return his paycheck.  Someone used the Al Borges/Hoke offense analogy and that seems about right.

Tourney Seedings

Why is MSU a 5 seed and UM am 8 seed?  Both teams had identical BI0 records, they split the regular season amd Um has 2 more wins overall than MSU.  They would match up with an ave ILL team rather than Purdue B10 cahmps.

Technically the proper rule

Technically the proper rule for defending that play is "Never let anyone get  behind you."

Stats, need stats!

Going to need some stats: Height, weight, favorite food, favorite super hero, favorite flavor ice cream, favorite teacher, how many songs on your phone,  etc.

New Hire

I think M should take OSU strategey.  Hire DC as Interim Head Coach for a year and have time to see who is out there and maybe interested.  OSU hire DC Luke Fickell as Interim then went out and got Urban who had left Florida a year earlier and was working for ESPN at the time.  He went undefeated his first year and would have played for National Champ if not on probation.

A good formula me thinks!

arizona Arizona (Rich Rods team) is 9-2 and ranked 11th in country. He is in year 3 I believe, same as Urban at Ohio. Just sayin.
