I want some more of it.

04/26/2018 - 4:29pm Mo is a special talent and

Mo is a special talent and should be a top-20 pick (would have been if not for medical red flags). However, due to the concerns I've heard a number of teams took him off their draft boards entirely, which also means those that haven't feel there will be less urgency to pick him early. I can see him falling to the 4th or 5th round. Definitely hope to be wrong.

04/22/2018 - 12:45pm There should be a real

There should be a real playoff (ideally 16 teams, though we will probably have to start with 8). Until that time, UCF has every right to claim a national title, and credit to them for paying out all their coaching staff's national title bonuses.

04/17/2018 - 2:45pm Welcome to the Michigan

Welcome to the Michigan family Jack!

For those unfamiliar with football in the northeast, he is from the blood rival of Andrew Stueber. Their schools are 1/1A in CT football over the past decade or so and have turned out an increasing number of power 5 prospects in the past few years.

04/01/2018 - 5:22pm I could not care less what

I could not care less what any Buckeye fan thinks about anything, especially not our performance in a tournament they were eliminated from weeks ago.

If you're over 25, I would avoid Prof. Thom's. Great bar/drinks/food when at normal capacity, but if it is anything like F4 vs Syracuse in 2013, you will be confined to a space smaller than your body's footprint and unable to move or get to the bathroom for 3 hours.

03/27/2018 - 11:45am Villanova and Virginia (I

Villanova and Virginia (I know, I know, but they won the ACC) are two examples of programs that recruit at/slightly below the level Beilein does and win consistently with good coaching and player development.

03/26/2018 - 1:11pm If he were hired at

If he were hired at Marist...he would be replacing Mike Maker, who was the coach at Williams that decided NOT to take Duncan Robinson with him when he made the move. Interesting how these all come full circle...

It has us in the South, not West. Wouldn't be crazy about a 1st rounder in Wichita, though...

01/26/2018 - 1:28pm At this point, I would not be

At this point, I would not be shocked if Mark Dantonio and Tom Izzo have both coached their final games at MSU. Seems to be a lot that they both were in position to stop and didn't.

NBA Playoffs and the full NBA Finals, ever heard of it?

01/03/2018 - 2:05pm I love this. They will finish

I love this. They will finish the season as the only undefeated team, and realistically they will never be able to win a CFP title under the current system. Their players and fans should celebrate it.

The system is set up to create an artificial 'ceiling' for programs like UCF, because they would likely need two wins over upper-tier P5 teams in the non-conference to be anywhere close to the top 4, and no upper-tier P5 team in their right mind will be scheduling them going forward. We saw the exact same thing happen with Boise a few years back, and they have certainly lost something from their peak.

12/22/2017 - 10:59am I liked the XFL for its one

I liked the XFL for its one season when I was a kid, and would love to see an upstart that 'does football' in a new way, but I see a huge problem: the XFL was all about rough, hard-hitting, no holds barred football, and its most famous rule was no fair catches. With all the concern over CTE and head injuries, I don't see any way they could do the same today.

I could see them as trying to position this league as a sort of 'alt-right' anti-establishment football league as an alternative to the 'PC' NFL but I'm not sure that's a big enough fan base to support the product. (NO POLITICS)

11/30/2017 - 10:09am If OSU beats Wisco, I can't

If OSU beats Wisco, I can't see any way they don't get in. The rankings have been moving for weeks to put them in that position, just as happened in '15 and '17.

Two Michigan Daily alums on the cfb site - Nicole Auerbach and Chantel Jennings. That said if the attitude of yesterday's hot take is company-wide, they won't have much good will to spare and will struggle to maintain the site through the offseason.

09/29/2017 - 10:07pm Couldn't disagree more

You are either a Rivals employee or lying. Scout is chock full of insider info (Newkirk's story on the QB battle this week was worth the cost of subscription alone) and they are merging a 247 so within a few months you'll get Webb and Lorenz for one price.

09/22/2017 - 2:21pm I like how the "three

I like how the "three opportunities for me to look stupid" section has gotten less and less specific over the years...some much needed comic relief after a long read.

I bet the new AD will be Trev Alberts. Former All-American under Osborne, ESPN analyst and more recently, AD at Nebraska-Omaha, where he's greatly expanded their athletic dept.

These have quickly become the most insufferable threads on MGoBlog...

I can handle talking cars, beer threads and all the other fun offseason stuff, but am I the only one who thinks constant congrats threads for folks who are trading out their cable package for 5 different streaming services to save a few bucks are beyond the scope of even OT season???

As Michigan fans know, QBs don't have to wear 1-19 in college. I'm sure McCaffrey will wear a traditional QB number, but part of me wants to see him in 37 or something.

07/26/2017 - 2:58pm Pete Thamel's editor

Pete Thamel's editor literally gave him the following task: "Go out there and write something that trolls Michigan fans so hard, they regurgiatate it on a large Michigan blog and we get thousands of free page views".

Task completed.

07/12/2017 - 5:23pm I am looking for an old style

I am looking for an old style of hat that might not exist anymore...it was a blue adjustable hat, with Michigan in an arched maize font and the swoosh right below the name on the front. We had it pre-08 and I've seen it recently for other schools...at the MDen all they have is one with a weird 3D maize and white font...any thoughts?

Ten strawpennies to whomever helps me find the hat I want!

06/27/2017 - 5:09pm It looks like they could not

It looks like they could not have done a better job with this hire...4x Nat'l Champ and 2x best player in country, plus young enough to relate to her players and you know her live examples will be as good or better than the girls will ever see in a game.

It only took NW 3-4 years after starting their program to win 4-straight national titles, so it's pretty reasonable to expect our new coach makes women's lax a real contender in a hurry.

This is a good hire. Only thing that remains to be seen is if he can recruit the 5* players that got Matta to his glory days a decade ago.

06/02/2017 - 11:29pm The only alternate of ours

The only alternate of ours that I ever liked was the first, UTL I uni with the M front and center. All the others were trash.

That said, I know Harbaugh won't let us look like idiots out there and I trust whatever he wants implicitly.

To those in the know...

Do we have hopes of regaining a nationally-dominant team in the next few years? The past 3/4 we were all but guaranteed a CWS appearance, and came very close to a national title in 2015. Have we recruited well enough to get back there?

I gotta admit, seeing the younger sister of our GOAT Sierra Romero hitting a walk-off for OU (after winning a title last season) is very tough. I wish she was playing for us...

04/06/2017 - 4:40pm Indiana made it a few years

Indiana made it a few years back, thanks to Kyle Schwarber. We have as good a chance as any non-Southern team.

04/03/2017 - 5:28pm This matters more for

This matters more for recruiting than anything else. If he can recruit the DC area well, that's enough to make Gtown a perennial Sweet 16 team, and I believe most DC-area players will have Patrick Ewing in their homes if he reaches out.

03/16/2017 - 12:42pm Smart move for IU, bad for

Smart move for IU, bad for the rest of the B1G.

Crean had a hard ceiling there, their 12-13 team was dripping with NBA talent and got bounced by the same Cuse team we beat in the Final 4.

That's still a very appealing job for many sitting P5 coaches.

03/07/2017 - 9:14am I think it's ridiculous for a 12-23 team to be in the tourney...

...unless that team is coached by an ex-Michigan assistant with a UM alum staff.

I would be thrilled if the final bracket were like what Joe Lunardi posted today. First round against Dayton, potential Gonzaga in 2nd round (yes, I understand they're better than us, but the pressure will all be on them and we recently saw an undefeated 1 seed fall in the 2nd round when they finally played a P5 team), Sparty on the bottom side of the bracket and an Oregon team I saw Ricky Doyle dominate as the #2 seed.

Not saying I'd predict us to the Final 4, but I wouldn't be shocked.

02/14/2017 - 11:13am VU not having an athletic

VU not having an athletic department is kind of in name only. Their AD just reports to someone intermediate, unlike Warde who I believe reports directly to Schlissel. Does add a layer of bureaucracy and allows the administration to meddle in athletics, but for a small yet extremely wealthy school it makes more sense.

Also makes sense when you're at a school with a smaller AD, and whose most relevant sports are non-revenue (esp. baseball).

02/05/2017 - 1:01pm Disappointed in you WD

In your haste to be the first to post about this topic you leave out the single most important detail that Sam himself said (along with other Scout employees) that his site will continue to operate as it does now for the foreseeable future. Even when owned by 247, Scout will continue to be a thing.
