Really? Is it unreasonable to expect us to COMPETE for Big 10 championships more than once every 10 years (last one won was in 2004)? And to hold our own with our main rival, and not watch the ascension of Little Brother to a position of prominence within our League?

No way Hoke resigns but given the precedent Schlissel established with Brandon's departure, he'll have a replacement ready to go upon making the announcement. I gotta assume (and really hope) there will not need to be a public "search committee" process and that this work is already happening behind the scenes.
Regarding the OL struggles, is it possible that all these years of scrambling QB's stunted the development of the OL, masked problems on the OL, and/or impeded the ability of Funk to properly coach good technique in practice? Not an expert by any means, and certainly not defending Funk, but I've often wondered if a QB that can bail out a poor OL, like Denard, can cause complacency and/or bad habits that finally caught up to us. It must be easier to block when you generally know where your QB is (i.e. in the pocket).
Season ticket sales will take a big hit if Hoke is retained, and will probably take a hit regardless of who is hired (perhaps with the exception of Jim or John Harbaugh). The reason for this is more and more people are starting to realize the convenience of buying only the games the want / are able to attend on Stub Hub, which usually means they're buying tickets for way less than face value and they don't have to pay the dreaded "Preferred Seat Donation." Strongly hope I'm wrong, but given the low resale prices on Stub Hub some season ticket holders have taken to just giving their tickets away...
