I decided not to renew this year after being a season ticket holder for 20+ years. I live in Chicago and can only make a couple of games a year; it has finally become too expensive to rationalize, especially with the less than stellar performance. I wish I had money to burn and would be able to continue, but I'd like to retire at some point. Sad day indeed.
Honestly, it depends on what it important to you. If you take it to the track and like the styling (I personally think it is awful), they the Civic Type R is for you. If you want a faster 0-60, better gas mileage, all wheel drive, and subtle styling, then the Golf R is your pick. Overall, you can't go wrong with either - they are both great cars for the $.
Logged in just to echo comments that Comcast is the worst business in history. I had to hear “did you restart the router” dozens of times when calling about my internet/cable outage. Never again!
This rule seems silly, but he's been there a year and a half and doesn't have 2 semesters completed? If there is a legitimate reason he wasn't taking classes, then sure.
I love the playoff and settling the overall champion on the field. That said, it is currently too exclusive. If they can expand it to 8 (or even 6), it should make more games relevant and the bigger bowls more fun to watch overall. As we all know, it is logistically challenging, but not impossible to accomplish.
From the perspective of a person who is in a perpetual hiring mode - almost every bullet on an offer letter is negotiable. Rarely do we make a comp offer that cannot be raised without issue. Start date is also negotiable, but keep in mind that the post is likely for immediate work, so delaying hurts your overall profile. For us, a 4 day work week is a non-starter for new hires. Once they have proven themselves capable of handling it on a trial basis, it becomes an option.
Overall, the more you try to negotiate, the more other candidates appear as viable options, so just be sure you are the right/best person. We have turned people down and gone with a second choice at times due to negotiation difficulties. Hope this helps!
My first son also had the cord wrapped around his neck. Thankfully our doctor knew what he was doing, didn't panic and delivered him safely. I honestly didn't realize how serious things were because he was so calm. Happy and healthy 10 year old now!
Darko was certainly overrated by many, but just as many, if not more, thought Melo would be better before the draft.
For every article you can find, there are just as many indicating Melo would be better. This was Simmons shortly after the pick, although he knew at the draft it was a missed opportunity.
Darko is the worst NBA draft pick in history. Sure, Carmelo is not a good defensive player, but the Pistons needed a scorer and had tons of defensive talent. I firmly believe that they would have won multiple championships if they would have picked Melo. It was such an obvious choice to everyone except Joe D. No way to put it except that it was a complete disaster.
In general, Soldier Field is an o.k. experience. I have gone to a few Bears-Lions games sporting Lions gear and have gotten plenty of verbal abuse. That said, the fans are very disinterested at this point and it should be fine. Hopefully you make it and cheer on a playoff birth! Go Lions!
I second Duffy's, but you need to get there as early as you can. If not, then Diag or Rockit are solid alternatives. Warning - if you don't pick a Michigan-centric bar, there is a good chance the sound will not be on. I'm going to the game, otheriwse I would join you!
The hats need to be lit on fire. Even if the designs were reasonable, they would fall apart after one season. The one I am wearing right now is proof - had to buy a new one by XMas. Anyone but Adidas...

Golf R > Civic Type R in almost every way
Lambeau seems relatively safe. That said, I wouldn't ever leave expensive things in an unattended car unless I had no other options. Good luck!
Great read, thanks for posting.
I’ll believe it when I see it. Unfortunately, I do not expect to see it. It would be an incredibly nice birthday present to my son, though!

One of the most fun games I have ever witnessed. It's a close second behind the Kansas miracle.
...goes the dynamite. Great game boys!!!
Dupe...oops, thought I caught it.
I looged in to make this exact observation. They need to let them play...calling it way too tight down low.
You neglected to mention his not so "classy" past?

I love to read comeback stories like this. I'm very glad to see he turned it around. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
Can't wait to see him in AA!

Callin' it
You ABSOLUTELY need a smoker. One of the best purchases I have ever made. Do it!

You eliminate the risk and can always unload the entire season...probably for more than face value.
Quit drinking your sh*tty beer and go to bed.
Bells is first class. Two hearted, Hopslam, and 3rd coast...yum.
I would rather not have internet service than do business with the worst company in history, Comcast.

Just thinking about it makes me feel like I need a shower...
Just when you thought the season couldn't possibly take a turn for the worse. Next man up!

People definitely thought Detroit would take Darko, as it was widely broadcasted. Many, if not most, thought Carmelo should be taken ahead of him.
Not to mention, no one thought anyone was on par with LBJ. He was the most hyped prospect ever and the clear choice at #1. No one else was tier 1.
Well put.
Tier 1 - LBJ
Tier 2 - Carmelo
Teir 3 - Everyone else

Which means the 2 tickets will be just enough.

Can't have a posbang without the Prince! Have a great weekend!
Hopefully this isn't a double post - not sure what happened to my first one.
I am considering a personal portable potty this year. Any recommendations? This one looks good, but it is a bit more than i wanted to spend...

I have to agree - this is the best celebration I have ever seen.
Me in about 8 hours...
Amazing pics - definitely on the bucket list to head over there to see the sights. Thanks to all the D-Day veterans for our freedom!
