07/20/2018 - 2:31pm Happy Anniversary! Today is…

Happy Anniversary! Today is my 22nd so you picked a good date to get married.

one thing to keep in mind is that the Art Fair is going on so parking and getting around will be suckier than usual.

we will probably end up at Pacific Rim unless there’s a long wait. Rain may keep people away though.

Nobody mentioned The Earl yet, so I will throw that out there. Also, Gandydancer and Real Seafood were disappointing the last few times I went, so it’s been a few years. Gout diet keeps me away from the steak houses

06/21/2018 - 1:00pm Oddly enough, this reminded…

Oddly enough, this reminded me of my daughter's HS graduation two weeks ago. One of the grads  had decorated her cap with a big green and white "Sparty On" (a girl no less).  I had to restrain myself from asking her if it was a joke or was she seriously going to MSU and put that on in support.

(My daughter heads to UM this fall.)

06/21/2018 - 10:54am Hand timed. Dude is quick…

Hand timed. Dude is quick but let’s wait and see. Hopefully he’s still growing.

I am happy to have him on board. Go Blue

05/21/2018 - 11:37am Ambrey Thomas (not projected to start)

Ambry isnt really a sleeper but I'll put him out there considering he's only projected to start on special teams.

05/12/2018 - 10:10am Highly likely illegal activity occurred

if you start digging into tax law as it relates to payments. There are reporting requirements - payments made to non-employee individuals require 1099 reporting to the IRS (unless it's under a certain amount - much less than reported payments.)

I'm no lawyer or CPA, fwiw.

04/28/2018 - 6:15pm Blue and Maize?

I have to admit, I don't recall ever reading or hearing it in that order. NTTAWWT maybe

04/24/2018 - 5:56pm Eh, he's not a bad recruiter either

.

03/07/2018 - 8:50pm That was hard

03/07/2018 - 8:36pm I heard that. What I didn't

hear was the coach saying they came back and beat those "better" teams though.

02/24/2018 - 2:07pm Maybe?

No question in my mind that it is.

02/24/2018 - 2:05pm Awesome first half

bang bang

02/22/2018 - 8:02am Mathews brings D and rebounding to

Go with his increasingly bad offense. I hope the kid gets it together but in he meantime Livers (and Poole) have an opportunity if they step up their D.

02/20/2018 - 9:15pm My parents were there.

They are big Gershwin fans and musically quite knowledgeable. They absolutely loved it even though it ran much longer than they were prepared for.

Living in A2 is great - even though I don't get to many (mostly free) performances from the school of music, it's a treat when I do go. My son is picking up a minor in music right now (aero engineer) so I get a little insight from him. The bottom line is that UM has a fantastic music school. Pity I didn't know that during my years as a student.

Last comment, if you ever have an opportunity to go to the annual collage concert at Hill Auditorium, GO!

02/18/2018 - 5:48pm Pretty sure he just forgot the "or" to go with the "and"

although I look forward to "and" becoming relevant and accurate all by itself.

02/16/2018 - 9:38am If Illinois is cheating

They are very bad at it.

02/12/2018 - 12:22pm Well, my daughter applied, was accepted

but has since stated she would go the community college route before attending State. Works for me... (deferred by UM)

02/12/2018 - 12:17pm I'm glad my uncle passed away last year

before this became a big time news story. He was a huge MSU supporter (former drum major in the 50's) and this would have torn him up. Having grown up in Lansing I am surprised at the unwillingness of many old friends/fans to consider Izzo or Dantonio as [potentially*] having dirt on their hands.

* reality, not potentially in my mind, but not even potentially for many old friends.

02/12/2018 - 12:08pm I get what you're saying

and agree that blindly buying in to statements from leadership with a vested interest isn't the best idea, generally speaking. Regarding Schlissel, however, I have to say he has impressed me time and again as someone with a track record of thoughtful responses to a variety of challenging topics and situations. He has pleasantly surprised me so far.

Maybe someone with a clue on the endowment investment practices will weigh in.

As for the Freep, they have a trackrecord too.

01/28/2018 - 5:48pm MSU should go after Arizona‘s

AD. He grew up in EL, played college baseball at Albion, cut his teeth at Oregon before becoming CMU’s AD and is now getting it done in Arizona. His wife is a MSU grad and oh yeah, they are good people.

01/14/2018 - 1:46pm Not at all. There were five minutes left

with plenty of time to win. His point was that MSU kept talking even when the game was in hand.

01/13/2018 - 2:46pm I have to admit, I did not see this jump

in his game coming. Now, just need to clean up those free throws, but man, great game Z!

01/13/2018 - 2:40pm Getting motivated for State, not hard

Playing smart and tough for the entire game, very difficult.

Turning around and getting up for Maryland in two days will tell alot. But I'm going to enjoy today's win before I worry about that.  Go Blue!

01/13/2018 - 2:32pm Major understatement.

It feels GREAT!!

Go Blue!  Beat the Terps.

01/13/2018 - 2:25pm Oh hell yeah!!

.

01/13/2018 - 6:49am Actually, it's only 6:49, but your question remains valid

.

01/13/2018 - 6:33am Sometimes you open the fridge and get pretty excited

because leftovers can be pretty damn good now and then.

01/10/2018 - 6:43pm For all the right reasons.

.

01/10/2018 - 6:01pm Looks like he received a promotion just yesterday

from assistant head coach/DL coach to associate head coach/DL. What the heck is the difference between an assistant and associate head coach?

01/06/2018 - 10:08pm Did you watch it 2x?

.

01/02/2018 - 12:29pm I think we're a few assistant coaches away as well

Staff changes are pretty much the only thing I am  watching closely at this point. I remain very play optimistic for our young receiving crew with the provision they receive solid coaching and calling. Oh, and someone who can get the ball to them.

01/01/2018 - 9:34pm Drevno was on the staff at Harbaugh's other

coaching stops but he wasn't the OC. Which to makes him a plausible part of the problem now - along with Pep.

Good point about the lack of identity.

01/01/2018 - 11:19am I feel bad for Isaac

But the offensive line worries me for today's game. A lot of people seem overconfident but until we can protect our QB's and run consistently, nothing should be taken for granted. i felt that way before Bredenson and JBB went missing. That's some serious beef at the guards spots though.

12/16/2017 - 11:54am As someone who grew up in Lansing

and went to HS with his son, I support Don's statement and will add that Ferguson has  skeletons in his closet completely unrelated to MSU.

12/04/2017 - 1:02pm Desert swarm

AZ, way back when

12/01/2017 - 12:03pm He said successful

Not sure Brandon qualifies as a successful CEO (despite what he say).

11/27/2017 - 12:56pm Sure - but the TE's did seem to block better as the year went on

.

11/27/2017 - 7:00am If Ruiz can make the line calls consistently

I will call him an upgrade at center. (uninformed opinion)

11/25/2017 - 5:29pm I had to stop after your first point regarding the play call

If O'Korn reads the coverage correctly, we have an easy first down with the receiver parked in a seam in the zone, wide open.  Hopefully the rest of your points were a bit more on point.

11/25/2017 - 5:18pm 3rd and long multiple times with an inexperienced QB

Maybe go with a zone? Disguise some coverages? Nice thing about a zone there is you keep the play in front you with d-backs looking toward the QB.  Of we may have had some inexperience in the secondary due to injuries - i need to go back and check.

11/18/2017 - 6:49pm ND loses a lot of talent

I'm sure they have some talent coming up but it won't be as experienced as our youngsters will be after gaining experience all this year. Now, about the tackles...

11/12/2017 - 9:42am Actually, it does. Look at the top HS football programs

and you might notice a significant number of catholic HS's. They begin recruiting at the HS level which then (often) feeds into ND recruiting. HS coaches have an influence on the recruitment of their players. It's as much about the HS feeder schools as it is about ND.

11/08/2017 - 7:18pm I have been waiting for that play.

Unless Gentry was really erratic as a passer (quite possible), it makes sooo much sense.

10/29/2017 - 12:34pm That (see above) and "he wasn't ready"

pretty much what I expect Harbaugh would say in response to a, "why not play him against MSU" question.

10/27/2017 - 11:33am Greater diversity of plays

and a larger playbook doesn't necessarily translate to not tipping tendencies. It seems like player personnel groups often tip what we are going to do. Wheatley in usually means a run. A better example is the wildcat we ran with peppers last year. Initially it saw moderate success but over time was completely shut down given the complete lack of counters run from that formation/personnel set. The D knew exactly what we were going to run.

10/09/2017 - 4:19pm you mean the play where

Bush retaliated after Allen clubbed him over the head?

09/29/2017 - 6:14pm good point.

I won't edit my comment to cover my poor word choice. Besides, I still think he is a grade  A creep (which isn't the same as "creepy" I guess)

09/29/2017 - 8:48am Last name Meyer, first name Oscar (sorry - double post)

it's dumber the 2nd time

09/29/2017 - 8:17am Define "good person"

In my world it's more about what you do than what you say. And many real creeps support and do good things. People are complicated.

09/29/2017 - 8:15am Last name Meyer, first name Oscar

You can surprise your wife with a new dumb joke.

09/20/2017 - 6:59pm ...or second down

sorry - double post.
