Nice analysis. I was extremely happy with the RR hire and was tremendously disappointed by his tenure. I thought the Hoke hire was a reaction to RR and an obviously poor hire.

Love the fact that this was released on I-tunes on Sunday. What a perfect thing to do on a sunday afternoon!

05/30/2018 - 8:47am In Rod We Trust

Written by someone who obviously loved the hire. I thought he gave a good defense of Rich, though obviously in retropsect it was a bad hire.

05/26/2018 - 10:57am Twins

I assume they are fraternal twins?

05/26/2018 - 10:56am I’m hoping they are like the

I’m hoping they are like the Henson brothers

02/06/2018 - 10:33am Posting

I’ve noticed the same thing recently and didn’t want to complain since the site is free. I am not into basketball or hockey so I ignore those posts. I got the sense after the football season that Brian was disgusted with the takes on Harbaugh and the disappointing season. Just wonder if he is a bit burnt out on football right now. This is my favorite site for Michigan football and starving at this point for content.

12/10/2017 - 7:31pm You can look for me then

I don’t have a plaque but my son will be there in a travel tournament

11/19/2017 - 6:21am Thanks for posting on Sunday

My Monday mornings like many others are manic, so seeing this on Sunday means I can read it and digest it more easily. Was wondering from a coaching standpoint who you think should go. My own preference would be to demote Drevno to OL coach, get rid of Frey, get a true OC and WR coach and/or RB coach, and give his son TE. I know Drevno would never accept this. I am also unclear on how good Pep is. What are you thoughts?

11/10/2017 - 12:56pm Ed

Don't understand all the negativity on Ed. I like him and am interested in what he has to say.

10/30/2017 - 3:05pm Peters

Thanks. Really enjoy your analysis and it is a must read for me on Monday morninggs. So, what part of the Bronx? I ask because I am originally from Pelham Parkway (originally as in ages 0-2).

10/30/2017 - 9:45am Peters

Assuming he plays competently, but not spectacularly, and Speight comes back, who starts The Game?

10/12/2017 - 1:02pm Vikings

Was an avid Viking fan in the 1970's, and need to correct Craig. The Vikings had a HOF QB named Fran Tarkenton. Kapp left before Foreman came, and Chuck Foreman was a fast half-back, not a fulback. Tarkenton was no JOK. They did have a very innovative offense under Jerry Burns.

03/02/2017 - 12:21pm The Audible is a good podcast...

but this is disappointing, I generally like Mandel and listen to this podcast every week, though Feldman's monotone voice gets on my nerves. I am acutally listening to the podcast now but have not gotten to the mailbag.

01/03/2017 - 6:02am Larry Culpepper is hysterical

Much prefer him to Pitbull. Agree with first post re podcast. Going to go through big withdrawal.

12/27/2016 - 3:24pm Playcalling

Thought North Texas play calling last drive unusual. Go Army!

10/28/2016 - 4:56pm Solomon

When was the last time a recruit decomitted from a school then recommitted later? Must be rare.

10/13/2016 - 1:29pm Hoke's recruiting

If Hoke's recruiting was so good, why was Harbaugh so unimpressed with his players? Did have a unique ability to identify 4 and 5 star talent that was really 3 start  talent, or was it simply a player development issue?

03/20/2016 - 5:30pm Sounds like his offensive

Sounds like his offensive philosophy is the same as mine when I played sandlot football: everybody run and I will throw a bomb.

09/05/2015 - 11:23am Chesson

Does Chesson have trouble tracking the long ball? Just seems to me that he has on several occasions, and it seemed like on one of the over throws that he gave up on the ball a little early.

09/02/2015 - 1:27pm Mannion

I thought Mannion was a good QB for OSU

06/04/2015 - 7:20am It is amazing to me how

It is amazing to me how little they know about Michigan football, and I would have to assume they know little about the other teams they cover. Is Morris really the key to a successful season? At this point I am not even sure he is going to start.

04/28/2015 - 7:07pm Geico commercials

They aren't clever or funny. In fact, they are juvenile. I especially hate that annoying pig. Can't believe this is the best Madison Avenue can come up with.

04/16/2015 - 6:20am Quick question

It seems that the first two round career lengths have been trending down the last few years. Is that because teams are getting less effective at identifying eleite talent (doubtful) or is it because there has been a change in the top position groups taken, position groups that have a generally shorter career.

02/28/2015 - 11:22am Would love to know the

Would love to know the difference between Hoke's and Harbaugh's practices. When Hoke started the practice reports stated how excited the players were, with Demens stating that it was the most fun he had at practices, that the amount of teaching was incredible. Wonder what is different with Harbaugh. Would love to get a player's perspective.

12/25/2014 - 7:39am I thought Herman hire was

I thought Herman hire was great one for Houston. For some reason I am not sold on idea that Narduzzi will be successfulas HC but time will tell.

12/13/2014 - 5:35pm He is my second choice after Harbaugh

...for reasons outlined by Brian. He convinced me. Not sure why others think he would be a bad hire. Seems like Meyer is a terrific judge of coaching talent, and his former coaches have excellent track record as HC. Would also create a nostalgic buzz re Bo and Woody.

12/03/2014 - 6:43am Why are people so convinced

10/11/2014 - 8:18pm What is intriguing about your

What is intriguing about your comment is that it is obvious you think coaching staff is incompetent. Is that what you are hearing from players beyond what everyone else thinks?

05/02/2011 - 8:52pm Clemson

Don't understand the point about Clemson. If they are doing better at player development than average, how are they a poorly coached team?

02/25/2011 - 12:24pm I couldn't agree with you

I couldn't agree with you more, especially in your comments about Denard, recruiting and his press conference. Sorry, but he does not strike me as a particularly astute football mind, and quite frankly I am getting tired of the "loves Michigan" and "toughness" themes. These to me are swipes at RR. I was very encouraged by the defensive hires but I am not impressed by Borges and where he wants to take the offense. I think we are going to regress further and only be competitive in teh Big Ten but not nationally. I still think Dan Mullen would have been the best hire, someone younger, more dynamic and more in-tune with where college football is headed.

01/23/2011 - 9:53am Most likeable is easily Mark

Most likeable is easily Mark Richt who I think is one of the good guys. Best coach to me is Saban. I think Mullen is a nice combo of likeable and good and the man I wish was coaching Michigan.

Thanks for the tip. I would have simply e-mailed him directly if I had known.

You get points for responding to posts. I never started a post. I know alot of this has been talked about.

01/17/2011 - 6:12pm Doesn't seem to be over for

Doesn't seem to be over for Brian as he still has alot to say about DB in regards to the way he handled the coaching hire.

01/13/2011 - 9:22am I am sorry if I am not

I am sorry if I am not drinking the Kool aid yet. I really want Hoke to succeed but i wasn not as impressed as everyone else at his press conference. People criticzed RR for being inarticulate-Hoke to me was extremely inarticulate. He seemed to of course say all the right things but to me it was very scripted. I am also not impressed at the idea of Borges as coordinator. I am cautiosly pessimistic.

01/12/2011 - 11:13am RR firing

I agreee completely. Initially I thought DB liked RR and the direction he was taking the program. Now I am wondering if he had every intention of firing him this year unless he did spectacularly well. He never gave him a vote of confidence. The fact that he hired someone who is going to take the program in a completely different direction only confirms my suspicion.

12/30/2010 - 8:20pm Would anyone besdies me be

Would anyone besdies me be disappointed if this is where he ends up? I could accept him landing at Clemson, but Maryland?

12/24/2010 - 7:49pm What bothers me is that they

What bothers me is that they wrote anything. If you don't have any solid information, you should say nothing. Cryptic messages only lead to alot of worthless speculation, which is what they claim to want to rebut but instead engender.

12/24/2010 - 6:42pm If that were the case though,

If that were the case though, don't you think he would have immediately dismissed RR after the OSU game in order to get the new team in place as quickly as possible, and don't you think that, if he had decided shortly after taking over as AD, that he would have made some contact with JH during the season and started the process then? I just think, on a credibility and ethical plane, that if he had decided he wants his man in place, that he would have told RR this earlier and allowed him to move on. Instead, RR is busting his tail trying to sell the Michigan program and get his players ready for a bowl game. There is something decpetive and distasteful about all of this if you are indeed correct. I also think the players, being young and impressionable, are going to be disgusted if they find out that DB made up his mind awhile back to fire RR but kept up a charade of indecision.

12/24/2010 - 5:42pm cc:my interpretation of rivals

I am a member of the Fort at rivals. My interpretation of ITF  is that RR is most likely gone if DB can come to terms with JH. I also think that is how most are interpreting it. The Wolverine IMO tends to be anti-RR, for what it is worth. I personally find it hard to believe that DB has already made a decision to can RR. IMO he has a duty and obligation to tell the man most affected by this decision, that of course being RR. I also think that if he had made a decision that in this day and age it would be impossible to keep quiet.I tend to take him at his word and think he truly has not made up his mind. He probably also has a back-up plan in place if he decides after sitting down with RR and comes away unsatisfied with how RR is running program

12/03/2010 - 7:26am I think that what DB is

I think that what DB is putting him and the program through right now is wrong. He should make a decision and either fire him or stand by him.

10/11/2010 - 8:18am Schafer

I always felt that Schafer was a scape goat, and I was very disappointed when he was fired. I also was disappointed when GRob was hired given his failure at Syracuse and the fact that he was a poor recruiter which concerned me given Michigan's lack of defensive talent. However, there is a logical disconnect going on here. Does RR ignore the defense as some claim, or is he dictating the defense to his DC? It seems to me that it can't be both.
