Edwin Jackson's line from last night... Edwin Jackson was bombed for 10 earned runs over 2 1/3 innings with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts Tuesday as the D'Backs were pounded 12-1 by the Rockies. OUCH
5-6 road trip and a 4-4 split with the angels and rangers is certainly a step in the right direction when you look at how God-awful we've been out there.
FAMILY VALUES are disappearing at a rapid rate!! Where are Drew and Michael?
2011 for sure... Does Ryan Mallet count??
Okay I will take the neg hit and respond... even though I agree with most if not all of what you said and people will be dumb enough not to read it and just down vote. I loved Lloyd Carr all the way through believe it or not. I appreciate that the standards of AA are still upheld for the most part especially when you take tOSU and EL into consideration. I have no issues with guys given a second chance and I know the 3rd and 4th strikes were mentioned in the AY thread last night. I am young enough to where I barely remember the guys you speak of and those 'incidents' (Marcus Ray was mentioned earlier among others whose names I can't remember). I wish we could recruit all those fine upstanding citizens and average 10-11 wins a year but those days are gone for us and the rest of D-1 football. Dunno why all this started... Just like most of the people on here, I refuse to settle for 5-7. That's all I was trying to point out in the first place.
If its the truth It's not wrong. I wasn't aware I had to list every single questionable player RR's has ever recruited and list specific incidents. Sorry for not writing a fucking research paper on what is a pretty damn good blog. I support Michigan football like I said earlier. Tell me where I lied and I'll apologize but this is ridiculous.
I assume your PS is directed at me... and I'm not a troll at all. I'm still confused as hell as to what happened in the Andre Y thread yesterday and why I got ripped apart for saying I was disappointed in RR.
Stealing some umhoops thunder here but if you look at his recruiting hotboard for 2011 there are tons of players on there with more talent than Isaiah Sykes. If I were him and had any control over the situation I'd get my tail up to AA ASAP.
Use the search button plz You might recognize your post from here... http://mgoblog.com/content/si-nfl-draft-and-star-ratings Or here http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-2010-draft-relation-recruiting Seriously...
I would assume 1. A school being inelligible for a bowl game would cause networks to take a long hard look at how many of their games were gonig to be shown on national tv. 2. Recruits are so impatient, do they really want to take that chance? I would guess not.
I'm a fan of 2 things Michigan football and... reality. We aren't very good. I like to see some positive things once in awhile... Where are those at? I hold Michigan to higher standards than beating MAC squads
Nope just because he hasn't been CONVICTED of any NCAA wrongdoings, he deserves other schools letting him beat them so he can keep his job.
RR has 40 wins in 2 years??
It does because up until 2007 we rarely if ever had NCAA accusations surrounding the football team. We were a respected program in 49 states and not the laughing stock that we are now.
Sorry I wasn't aware that one good deed replaces a trend of questionable behavior. Pacman, Feagin, Demar, leaving WVU, practice times, etc...
You must have missed the fact that RR has more NCAA allegations to his name than wins in the recent past. How are those maize colored glasses treating you? sad that I will probably get neg-banged for this too
nikj Some people might disagree with you on that point.
Not finishing certainly doesn't help his cause either. Not a knock on him, just the facts
Kenny Rogers may not have met that camera man but he did meet the dirt-ish mixture on his palm. I'm a huge Tiger fan but that was pretty embarrassing. I do agree that the World Series appearance has to be right up there, if not at the top of a list.
We are Michigan We should have expectations not hope. Hope is based on luck and chance... just saying
Padres are playing great baseball right now. For a team without much talent they're really doing well. Good to see a 'semi' Michigan guy aiding the cause.
Stating the obvious here but... That's a HUUUGEEEE bitch
Good riddance Dane Have fun finishing 5th in a poor mid-major conference while you wait for Tom Crean to leave.
Wow Another Krysznewski (sp) disciple flames out. Hope everything is okay don't get me wrong but these guys like Amaker have to stop going to places where they play second fiddle to another program.
I definitely called this yesterday in another thread. Wouldn't shock me at all if we heard about the hiring of Dane sometime soon.
Most of these were used during my HS basketball career You gotta want it Don't beat yourself Defense wins championships Finish strong Who wants it more? Just a few that come to mind off the top of my head.
He is their father http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/2005-11-21-fife-i… From what I hear from Fort Wayne a lot of people just assume that Dane is the head coach in waiting at IU... but I wonder how long he will be waiting for because Crean is still very young. I don't see Crean struggling again this year and wonder if Dane would be interested in the Michigan job in 5 or 6 years when Belein is ready to retire...
It's replaying on BTN tomorrow at 10 as well which I'm hoping to catch.
Yes he's gone but... Zoltan-Jesus
So Great to see Bonderman back and contributing. Hell of an outing today even though it was against the Indians. Looking good so far and like someone said yesterday, it's always great to see a Michigan squad handling a team from the state down south.
Memorial Stadium in Bloomington is pretty darn pathetic. Awful seating and very little atmosphere.
Gus would have had 6 heart attacks by now
I'd agree but as long as they're calling everything on both ends (which I think they have) you gotta deal with it.
Side note Maybe I'm way off here but the officiating has been pretty consistent so far and even thought I've never heard of any of the three, they've done a pretty solid job.
Blue Since 82 As a fellow Valpo alum, I gotta wonder why you would support Valpo's arch rival? I fucking hate Butler due to their arrogant fans and fact that they host the conference tournament every year. Not that I will root for Sparty in any sense but I'd fully support both of them somehow losing.
Busted out a Wild Boar for the intermission. Not a big fan of flavored beer but this one hits the spot.
"This guy I met online" COULD BE ANYONE....." www.beenverified.com sounds like a quality product as well. Solid advertising yet again ESPNU
I know Brian was talking about the ice quality in an earlier post. I'm hockey retarded... is there a way to tell how it's holding up by watching the game on TV or something else?
Think ESPNU has the balls to pull the plug on this one with a 5 goal differential? Probly not... If they don't I blame their coastal bias if they don't
3rd Period hasn't even started in the BC-Yale game so it could be awhile before ESPNU picks up the coverage...
Iowa is going to go from one Iowa is going to go from one of the slowest teams in terms of pace and lowest scoring teams in the entire nation to a really fast paced squad that scores a lot of points. Should be a lot more competitive although their last hire from a mid-major was just shown the door.
As far as replay capability I have been to numerous basketball and hockey games at the Coliseum and I know for a fact they have replay capabilities. Just an FYI.
Fort Wayne is a fairly anti-Michigan city from what I know from my 18 years of living there. They are 10 minutes from the Ohio state line and maybe the stank has wafted over at a greater rate but there a re a LOT of Buckeye fans in town. That said, not sure what the response from the fans will be. FW residents tend to be very knowledgable about hockey FWIW.
You have to figure in the fact that outside of Manny we didn't have anyone who was quick enough on the drive to command help defense. This really limited the penetration and kick out possibilities that we could use. With a quicker and smaerter D-Mo and Ziegler(?) defenses will be more likely to collapse to the middle and give Douglas, Vogrich, and LLP better and more frequent looks.
As a Fort Wayne Native... Accomodations should be pretty easy to find in terms of proximity to the area. The area around the Coliseum has TONS of restaurants and stuff to do. Fort Wayne has very knowledgable hockey fans and I would assume the place will be rocking. I'm thinking about heading back to check out the games and I really am not a hockey guy at all.
Epke Udoh and Baylor played at Michigan as a freshman. one of if not the best shot blocker in the nation. Transferred because he didn't feel like he fit in Belein's system.
You are assuming Michigan wants to play in the NIT. I can't think of a reason why they would not want to play but nevertheless Belein did say we weren't interested in the CBI. Granted the NIT isn't quite as useless as the CBI but it's getting close. I doubt the university could make money on the invite which may be a factor as well.
I always go seed by seed in increasing order. I also check to make sure I've got at least 2 teams above a 4 seed in the sweet 16 and at least one in the Elite 8.
Siena is going to destroy Purdue. Wouldn't suprise me if they were favored to win.
It'd be great to see Notre Dame not get in...
