07/12/2011 - 11:29am The price is only going to go up

DB has "festivities" and "special events" planned for the ND game. He compared it to the Big Chill, which had a live performance, fireworks, giveaways, and lots of video presentations on the scoreboard (the overall presentation is also probably why we've scheduled to have so many recruits visit for ND).

Combined with the fact that this is the first night game,  the special events will mean that tickets will be at a premium.

05/27/2011 - 9:39am Why not?

Why don't we ask Brandon Graham about Rich Rod?

05/25/2011 - 1:30am Ron Thompson involved in an incident? + Feedback

I've seen Michael Tyler O'Conner play, and trust me, let Sparty have him. We're better off with someone like Jake Rodrigues.

Sheldon Day is a huge Michigan lean. He's far more likely to end up in this class than Johnson.

Muller and Neal are longshots. Otherwise, looks pretty acurate

To those who are wondering, according to the Scout board, Ron Thompson was involved in an off-field incident and has grade issues, so he probably won't be a Wolverine.

05/24/2011 - 11:00pm Stoops isn't even on the radar

Stoops is just a Buckeye fan's pipedream. Those Stoops comments were taken out of context, like Jon Gruden saying that he always wanted to coach at Michigan.

05/24/2011 - 10:59pm We haven't never lost to Urban

Why should we be scared of him?

05/24/2011 - 10:57pm Fickell...

Fickell only beat Michigan once while a player, didn't he?

I like the direction this is moving...

05/24/2011 - 10:34pm Denver...

Didn't we used to cream them before they went D-1, or am I thinking of someone else?

05/24/2011 - 7:15pm "I can't see where we'll need
"I can't see where we'll need more than one WR per class."

Wait, what? Borges' offenses were based slightly more on the pass than the run. Although, he does utilize running back play-makers very well ex: Cadilac Williams and Rodney Brown. As long as he's our offensive coordinator, I don't think we'll ever have less than 6 Wide Receivers and 3 Tight Ends on scholarship.

In light of the Williamson transfer, we have 13 Wide Receiverss on scholarship, and 5 of them are Slot Receivers. Unfortunately, we will likely see more attrition because this is unbalanced. The Slot Receivers and (nearly 3-3-5 exclusive) Linebacker-Safety hybrids are not going to be rotated, or played, as often.

Another thing that needs to be addressed is scholarships. People are underestimating our number of scholarships for this class. We started with 16 scholarships for this class, so we should have 19 scholarships now, and we should be expecting 25 scholarships in this class because of attrition.

05/24/2011 - 2:19pm Good Job Hoke!

This is another early success for Brady Hoke. With a bit more attrition, we'd have been doomed.

05/24/2011 - 5:33am We're in the top 5 of the following Cali prospects...

FWIW, according to Calipreps (run by the recruits themselves), we're in the top 5 of:

Ellis McCarthy (5*, 6'5" 300+ DT)

Erik Magnuson

Jordan Payton (top player in CA, committed to USC, taking an official here)

Malik Gilmore

And maybe add Aziz Shittu to that list, now. We might have taken Notre Dame's spot in his top 5.

05/23/2011 - 11:28am C'mon man

You know that some people are gonna see it as inaccurate, and an attack on one of our recruits. Some people are just super sensitive.

05/23/2011 - 1:02am Double post

Michigan Coach

05/23/2011 - 12:59am Your math is a bit off

You're forgetting that the picture doesn't include their legs, which would make the pixel-height ratio conversions much smaller, so each pixel is less than the variable you included in your calculations.

Basically, Terry is much taller than your calculations.

05/22/2011 - 2:06pm TV Broadcast

Could they show the "Woots Dubs" sign, or batting glove again? I didn't catch them the first dozen times...

05/20/2011 - 4:44am Because he said so.

Armani said he's narrowed it down to those 4 schools on twitter.

05/17/2011 - 7:50pm Thompson=grades?
  • The guys on scout are saying that Ronald Thompson has grade issues/didn't take an opportunity to commit before Funchess. So as of now, our staff is assuming that he will not be part of our class.

05/17/2011 - 5:04pm Bellomy

You're the 3rd person I've seen bring up Bellomy in the past day, albeit I post on 2 boards.

Don't worry, he's no one's forgetting him. Bellomy will have a fair shot at the starting job, so let's not start the whole "Matt Gutierrez is a better QB than Chad Henne" meme, again.

05/16/2011 - 2:39am Gunner Kiel?

05/11/2011 - 10:17pm Out of 100, and Rivals is getting almost as bad

ESPN's rankings are out of 100, and are typically very bad, however rivals.com is just as bad this year. Rivals has decided to end their Midwest scouting department.

Stick to scout.com for both rankings and the second best Michigan football board (IMO).

04/30/2011 - 2:59pm Honestly guys, the AAU is right...

Nebraska pulls in less research $ than academic powerhouses like: Wayne State, University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, UAB, and 8 SEC schools (The Top American Research Universities 2009 Annual Report).

In addition, Nebraska's chancelor just announced that Nebraska will make cuts across the board and completely cut several engineering programs. However, most of the funds for the agricultural program are going to be left untouched

This could have been prevented, and is a case of mismanagement by the UNL administration.

04/17/2011 - 11:06pm It's not Diamond

Check the scout boards... they're usually good

04/08/2011 - 3:33am Awesome day.

04/07/2011 - 5:02pm TBH

To be honest, I could have surmised you felt that way at some point because of your username.

04/04/2011 - 6:25pm Simply put

As someone stated, "Sioux" is an exonym with disputed roots. The Sioux view it as derogatory. The "Sioux" prefer to be called "Lakota."

Thus, "racist mascot" may be more appropriate for the "Fighting Sioux" than any other mascot in the NCAA.

04/04/2011 - 1:22pm I'd be up for...

I'd be up for chanting "flagship" when we play little brother.

04/03/2011 - 6:55pm I have a problem, too

The only way I can recover after a loss is to do a lot of drinking/drugging... so my problem might be a little worse than most.

I rarely drink or use otherwise... As much as I loved Rich Rod, I barely remember the games...

03/31/2011 - 10:22pm Actually, if you listen to

Actually, if you listen to various experts (far more experienced at judging prospects than you or I) it's a split opinion over his position Wide Reciever, Running Back, or Defensive Back. However, they all agree that he'll return kicks.

03/31/2011 - 10:18pm Ronald Darby

Mgoboard, why's there so little love for Ronald Darby? He's the fastest kid in the entire class of 2012.

03/31/2011 - 10:16pm Mauk

Marshall

Darby

Mauk

Marshall

Darby

3 guys who probably won't be donning the golden dome. Marshall's the least likely of the 3, Mauk's the most likely.

03/31/2011 - 10:13pm Yeah, I do...

I had a threesome with 2 chicks from MSU...  Needless to say, they're my favorite Spartans.

03/30/2011 - 11:48pm Twitter

I was reading the reactions to Rich Rod's comments on twitter, and although I liked him, I'm glad he's no longer an ambassador for our University. There's a lot of hate for that man...

03/29/2011 - 5:40am Yep. I remember that thread...

TomVH showed up and told us that Fuller is being recruited as a QB by this staff.

03/27/2011 - 12:18am WCHA Fans=conference-rooting whiners

Let's not go overboard. In college hockey, WCHA fans are the equivalent of the SEC football fan. Let's not label them as worse...

Is it really that painful for them to root for their own team? Pathetic. I can't wait until Wisconsin and Minnesota leave, and the WCHA loses all credibility as a difficult conference. None of those programs (other than North Dakota) will even have a shot at being a powerhouse anymore.

03/26/2011 - 11:32pm F*&@ YEAH!!!

F*&@ YEAH!

03/26/2011 - 11:32pm Hilarious pictures

I recomend pouring through the pictures and saving a few...

03/25/2011 - 8:59pm I don't think this is over.

I don't think this is over.

03/17/2011 - 4:05am I could... in second grade

I could... in second grade... does that make me a nerd?

03/13/2011 - 4:35pm Flenory seems dirty; Lyle is dirty

Helping send a kid to Michigan, even if for free, is definitely something Flenory would want because it helps build his credibility as an effective rectuiting advisor.

Will Lyle is dirty.

03/11/2011 - 3:43pm After Tressel just embarrassed the conference?

Not Classy?

Tressel just compromised the reputations of the other 10 institutions in the conference.

03/10/2011 - 7:42pm How about OFWGKTA?

How about OFWGKTA?

03/02/2011 - 7:41pm Nope. It isn't us.

Nope. It isn't us, we just had out entire program investigated.

Tell the FSU fan that this is an incredibly dumb rumor.

03/02/2011 - 5:10pm So... this pretty much sums up all of the remixes.

03/01/2011 - 6:51pm Oregon Basketball is under NCAA investigation at the moment

Oregon football looks like it will be outted for the same reason(link)

03/01/2011 - 6:32pm Don't forget Dior Mathis

Don't forget about Dior Mathis. Also, Terry Richardson's really, really, likes Oregon because of their track program.

03/01/2011 - 6:14pm It's Oregon

It's Oregon. Their media is starting to do damage control:

Canzano blog: Oregon Ducks 'haven't heard a peep' about rumored NCAA football recruiting violations

Published: Tuesday, March 01, 2011, 2:15 PM     Updated: Tuesday, March 01, 2011, 2:15 PM
autzen.JPG

Lots of national chatter today about a "top 10" college football program that is supposedly in hot water with the NCAA over recruiting violations.

I was contacted by several national college football writers after those early rumors began to point at the University of Oregon being that program.

Made some calls. A reliable source high in the athletic department said everyone there was "surprised" to hear about the rumors. They have not been contacted by the NCAA on this matter.

Said source: "We haven't heard a peep from the NCAA. If there was something going on, we'd typically hear about it way beforehand."

-- John Canzano

This entire "haven't heard a peep from the NCAA" seems like doublespeak. Sports Illustrated (media source) conducted the investigation, and not the NCAA. This is scheduled to be the cover story for SI tomorrow (or at least that's what's been said). Twitter is starting to blow up about this.

Why can't Denard be Plato?

02/25/2011 - 11:30am "Has anyone watched a SDSU game?"

Whenever people are irrationally fretting over the offense, it makes me wonder if they've actually seen an SDSU game. SDSU ran a spread no-huddle West Coast offense, which is a lot like what we're purported to be running.

We definitely aren't returning to the Lloyd Carr style of offense.

02/25/2011 - 3:48am How would Tennessee be a surprise though?

How would Tennessee be a surprise though? They're already under investigation, and will get sanctioned for Kiffin's antics.
