Guess I will try again around Guess I will try again around 6 and hope some things are still available... What a waste of a day. Good thing I had some actual work related things to do to help pass the time!
I'm at 45 mins and counting I'm at 45 mins and counting of just trying to get my shopping cart to show back up so I can check out. I am guessing I'm never going to see any of this stuff, but than again, does one really need a matching set (maize, blue, and white) of hockey sweaters?!
Very pleased I'm very pleased and pleasantly surprised with the great pitching and good defense this weekend. I was worried about the amount of runs the team gave up against meh competition in Lubbock, but this is a marked improvement against two likely NCAA teams. Once LeMarre come back and Dufek stops trying to hit 5 run homers, the bats should come around for Big 10 play against usually subpar Big 10 pitching.
Ugh Strikeouts continue to be a problem for this team. I know Louisville has some very very good college pitching, but I'd like to see the ball in play a little more often. I am very impressed with Oaks tonight. With this tough out of conference schedule, I'd have to say that anything over a .500 record before Big 10 play would be a nice accomplishment without LaMarre. Bot 9, let's see some magic!
I am waiting for a "and boom I am waiting for a "and boom goes the dynamite" comment from this guy. I do appreciate the feed though, since the U of L audio feed wanted a $15 subscription fee. Also, the live stats look like something out of mgopaint.
In case the video feed is In case the video feed is poor, the Louisville site has a link to live audio from the baseball schedule page for tonight's game: http://www.uoflsports.com/sports/m-basebl/sched/lou-m-basebl-sched.html I live in Louisville and they have high high hopes for another CWS birth this year. I think 2 wins this weekend will be very very tough with LaMarre out and the pitching staff is still a bit iffy. The three main starters (minus one inning for Burgoon) have looked pretty good in Texas, but the bullpen still seems rather unsettled. Still only one weekend in the season, so it is way too early to draw conclusions.
Dancers, sieve, dancers, Dancers, sieve, dancers, sieve, dancers, sieve!!!
Ellerbe Despite the disappointing on-the-field performances this year, I never want to go back to that era of UM sports. Say what you want about TA and Beilein, there have only been two off-the-court incidents with Michigan hoops (domestic incidents with Bernard Robinson in 2003? and Daniel Horton's suspension in 2005) in the last decade. It seemed liked like from 1998-2001, there were two off-the-court incidents a month. I'll take the hockey team blowing a series on the road over a hoops team wrestling in the median of a road any day. Actually, may I get neither...

Thanks After seeing the success of football guys playing baseball (Eric Decker at Minnesota, Golden Tate, Evan Sharpley, and Jeff Samardzija at ND amongst others), it is no surprise that Maloney is interested in a few football guys and potential recruits. Any time you can get a good athlete for the baseball and not have it count against the scholarship limit is a major major plus.
As sad As sad and frustrating as this hoops season has been, I will take it when compared to the circus of a program during the Brian Ellerbe era. Every other week it seemed players were getting arrested for wrestling in the median of 275 or something completely idiotic. At least Leland Anderson parlayed his experience at Michigan into a successful C-level wrestling career...
Great job on the baseball Great job on the baseball preview! With the end of Big Ten Hardball, it is nice to know there is some good outside content on Big 10 baseball out there. I will be very interested to see how this pitching staff shakes out, but I think moving Burgoon into the starting rotation will be a solid choice. You are right on with Dufek needing to cut down on the strikeouts if he wants to approach Recknagle's or Putnam's numbers from past years. Quick question for FA, are there any plans/thoughts of Blake McClimans from the hoops team playing baseball at some point ala Robbie Reid and/or Clayton Richard?? I remember from his basketball recruitment that Blake was a baseball prospect in HS with a reported high 80s-low 90s fastball. It might be wishful thinking here, but it would be nice to have a 6'10" reliever coming out of the bullpen in a future Big 10 season.
