03/29/2018 - 4:02pm Vogrich

Man I remember being such a Vogrich fan that I was annoyed at freshamn Nik Stauskas for no fault of his own for like the first quarter of that season. This also explains my now wonderfully dated MGoName...

Oh, the memories.

Toss me an email and I'll help you out with the Sketch Head from the basketball game, that's my bad boy.

03/02/2015 - 9:30pm Yea, the pay is actually

Yea, the pay is actually incredibly low relative to the other professional sports. Obviously MMA is younger and less mainstream, but even Rousey will only get about $2mil for that fight without sponser dollars. That seems like a ton for 14sec, but that's months of training and she's one of the sport's biggest names. Its growing fast though, and she's paving the way for a whole new boatload of female fighters. Pretty awesome to witness for a fan of the sport!

02/26/2015 - 2:05pm Yet another Vikes fan. I see

Yet another Vikes fan. I see no way he wears a new uniform next season. Whether or not he wants to play for Minnesota or not, he knows where the paychecks are coming from. The trade return isn't going to be worth the player, and I can't see this organization making a deal with Dallas specifically for anything less than a solid haul of picks.

02/26/2015 - 9:07am In the non-call boat, I think

In the non-call boat, I think it was 2010 when DeShawn Sims was hacked by State in what should have been a last second layup for the win at Crisler. I remember one of the refs got injured during the game and had to leave, so the view from behind Sims where he was being held down was just missed.

02/19/2015 - 3:32pm I hate this damn conference.

I hate this damn conference. I don't care about the ease of schedule, I want to see Michigan play their rivals home and away and I want to see them in Assembly Hall. Is it selfish that I want my school to play other schools in our conference?

02/18/2015 - 8:34am Nothing to see here

So late in the second half when I began to be more interested in people watching than the game itself, I noticed an awkward moment between Harbaugh and Desmond. Harbaugh stopped to talk to like 5 people on his way to the tunnel, just being courteous. Then he got to the tunnel, where Des was, and uncomfortably walked past him. Des even looked up, like how I would avoid an ex in high school. Just odd. Also, Jameis wouldn't even acknowledge the kids that wanted a picture, even the oddly placed kid in a FSU hat! Comeon mannn

02/13/2015 - 4:36pm Airing of Grievances

People that think something is wrong with offense in seemingly every sports just don't like defense, and I don't like them. Sometimes, things aren't broken - so don't fix them.

Soccer is boring to me, so I don't watch it. They make a lot of money despite my decision. Baseball is exciting to me, so I watch it. If it bores you, don't. They will continue to make a lot of money, don't change my game.

Charges are the most exciting call in college basketball, and I love Ted Valentine as a ref.

I love MMA but the UFC is ruining it. What it did to this point pushed MMA into the main stream, and that's fantastic. However, they now are over-extending themselves and have too large a roster with too many events. Fighters aren't getting fights, and other organizations are dying. Reign it in for the sport.

It frustrates me that NFL money isn't guaranteed. Baseball's salary model is the best in sports. The contract matters - when it's signed, it's done. If all sports could adopt this, they'd all be better for it.

There will be another NFLPA strike soon and it will stem from how the NFL treated Adrian Peterson.

This is my favorite comment.

01/03/2015 - 11:17am Beilein definitely plays

Beilein definitely plays favorites to guys who show willingness to be coached more. Normally, when they lack the starting/first off the bench talent, he molds them into defensive specialists and then let's them earn playing time from there. That's what I see MAAR as. Beilein likes him, he must show good stuff in practice, and will continue to use him defensively on a consistent basis. Hit a couple shots during that time and all of the sudden you're in, some I'm not worried about him!

12/31/2014 - 12:25pm This.

I feel like much of the hate comes from the ridiculous one-off uniforms and the yellow. Realistically, quality concerns are about the same across these 3 companies. If the AD doesn't want special unis, we don't get them. If they don't want highlighter yellow, we won't get it. Nike may have a patent on that specific shade of Maize, but they don't own every dulled shade of yellow. Basketball camps may be one legitimate argument, but that doesn't seem to cover the rest of the contract, imo.

12/30/2014 - 9:35am I swear. Also, he was not

I swear. Also, he was not wearing khakis. I repeat, NO KHAKIS.

Coach Harbaugh said good morning to me outside of Crisler just now. Best day ever!

12/23/2014 - 1:11am Once he left the game he was

Once he left the game he was swearing up a storm and hitting the chair next to him - with a smile, of course. Sounds silly, but it was awesome just to see him be a kid mad that he missed a couple big 3s. So proud to have him on this team for the next few years!

With Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska, and Illinois receiving votes (in that order). Basketball conferences, man.

11/04/2014 - 10:36pm Football perspective

As a Vikings fan, I have to admit I was hoping he'd fight it. Now with the plea, I expect a couple game suspension and a nice fine, but he'll be back this year. I didn't want to see that for football reasons... I don't believe he'll be back next year for $ reasons, so I see it as more valuable to grow the rookie RB and QB without AD out there. Obviously a better team with him out there, but I believe this growth by fire has been working pretty well thus far

04/16/2014 - 4:38pm My all time favorite, can't

My all time favorite, can't wait until that Friday. Hopefully Nik and Glenn do an MDen freebie too like Trey and Timmy did!

02/23/2014 - 11:08pm I stand corrected.

I stand corrected.

02/23/2014 - 7:16pm Just about everything has

Just about everything has been said between the 2 posts, but there's one more thing that really pissed me off about how it was handled. I was at the end of the preline, and ran back and forth between the 2 a few times much to my amusement (I was drunk, so what wanna fight about it?). When el presidente decided to make the 2nd line, she had the maize rage 'core' walk about 100 feet away from her, then she announced her line just began, and then the glob walked up behind her. Outside of her claiming she was going to give the people in the other line 'fake' numbers to trick them into thinking they would get a good spot in line, it was the most dick thing she could have done. The core made a mess, and the athletic department cleaned it up.

I've never watched a more intense halftime performance. It was like MJ with the flu man

10/06/2013 - 5:22pm Wow, never even considered

Wow, never even considered this before you pointed it out. I'm a 3rd year ticket holder and that's an excellent point, every game so far this season I've been jammed into a row (not a big deal at all fwiw) and looking back at my first 2 years, I never experienced that. It would make the section look a lot better if it wasnt so compacted

09/09/2013 - 10:41am This, this, this.

Post this on each of the 5 daily "students are awful now but they were awesome when I was there" threads

09/08/2013 - 11:38am I'd like to say that as a

I'd like to say that as a student...most students I know dont complain as much as the ones here (alright I'll just say it, they arent as bitchey). Of course being in that line isnt as fun as pregaming like before, but its not like you are just sitting looking at the floor. There's free food, phone charging stations, water and toilets. Theres a big ass tv to watch the early games and obviously you can bring in drinks (ooohh ahhhhh) and other stuff like that to make the time go by! Shit there's other humans too, talk to em. I got there around 10am and that time flew pretty quick.

He can, by the rules, come back and play after the 50 games. The speculation is if the team wants him back after all of this

08/05/2013 - 11:29am Kinda the same reason you

Kinda the same reason you leave the top hitting prospect down and bring up a slightly more experienced guy, you want them to gain that experience. Reed will be better served in the long run getting quality innings in Toledo and right now Bondo can be a solid long relief guy and the front end. Maybe he's good maybe he isnt, it really isnt much risk.

Currently a student at UM, and I consider myself a fan of both Central and Western. Don't hate on the instate guys, love to see these kind of things going on in Kalamazoo. Good for them.

07/31/2013 - 11:00am They had no room for him at

They had no room for him at any of the 3 positions...so they basically only gave up prospects to get Peavy. That's not a bad move, they were pretty formidable without him

07/31/2013 - 12:55am What do you think they need

What do you think they need in the bullpen? I think they could use a lefty, but the back end is looking pretty good with Smyly-Veras-Benoit now. Hopefully Rondon continues to develop and Dotel is throwing now so he could be back...I think this bullpen can work it out

07/31/2013 - 12:24am Can't debate the awful past

Can't debate the awful past but if this sort of thing sets a precident - 50/100/150/lifetime suspensions without even having positive tests in certain cases is certainly getting tough. Rather the league "get tough" from now on than scrape by on the limiting testing done in some other leagues

07/31/2013 - 12:19am Not debating James' point,

Not debating James' point, but it's not like they gave him up for nothing, Peavy is a tremendous addition to that rotation. Gotta give talent to get talent

07/31/2013 - 12:17am .257 in the minors

.257 in the minors

07/30/2013 - 11:40pm He hit .257 in the minors,

He hit .257 in the minors, and has hit .330 with over 200 at bats. To assume he's going to be a Danny Worth bat off of that, comeon man.

07/30/2013 - 11:37pm Seems like its unanimous for

Seems like its unanimous for all of the guys on the list minus ARod...a few guys reported that  MLB would actually seek longer suspensions to guys that appealled, so the PA was proably keen on getting these guys to just take it. Obviously MLB has something on all these guys if they are taking it tho...

07/30/2013 - 11:31pm Certainly hope so. Not to

Certainly hope so. Not to mention if this guy locks down either SS or 2B, you save quite a bit of money that would have been used to resign Peralta (assuming that would be the move).

07/30/2013 - 11:19pm Just saying it may be, if you

Just saying it may be, if you look at his minor league numbers, they are closer to .250. Every year young guys come up and hit it up before calming down either in the second half or in their 2nd year. I'm not saying he wont be a good stick, I just don't want people who don't know him to think he's a .300 write in

07/30/2013 - 11:14pm Couldn't agree more. Hate to

Couldn't agree more. Hate to send a quality guy like Avi to a division foe, but this was a great proactive move by Dombo. I was mentally preparing myself for Perez/Santiago/Worth holding down the middle for a while, but...yea. This is better.

07/30/2013 - 11:07pm Just to be clear, his average

Just to be clear, his average may be a little misleading. He's a glove, no power in sight, but his bat should be good enough to sustain him at either SS or 2B

07/29/2013 - 10:38pm thats why they call him the

thats why they call him the Commish

07/29/2013 - 4:51pm Yea whats getting lost in

Yea whats getting lost in this is that the Yanks could very well have signed him to the worst contract...ever...(no but seriously), pay him in his prime, and then get that contract axed in time for the offseason to go aquire whatever else they want. Im not saying it's likely that he gets a lifetime ban and they get outta this, but it sure is looking possible. All the more reason to hate em
