Either GW3 or Phat Phat saw Dusty bringing in a lot of guards and would reconsider their decision to stay committed to Michigan thus would open a spot from SG logjam towards SF/PF spot.
Once Goldin is in, the scholarship allocation is full, but it sounds like May is looking for a wing/forward to play the 4 and move up to the 3 if necessary.
I think Wolf is a 5 but from it sounds like May will give him some minutes at PF. It'll happen in the B1G against teams like MSU, Indiana, etc.
I think Cheddar is slotted for 5-10 min a game if he gets it at all. He barely played on a 8 win team, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play much with the current team.
Things have also changed during Juwan's tenure. NIL and the transfer portal weren't within the scope of his coaching duties, and they changed overnight. Juwan could've done a better job of doing NIL, but Michigan also could've done a better job supporting Juwan. There's no 100% blame game, but both were unprepared to navigate the NIL. Dusty is better equipped to deal with it and understands that NIL is part of the college basketball landscape.
Goldin seems the most likely commit. Assuming Jace and Nimari is still on the team then Mahaney becomes priority #1.
Don't think Cason and/or Rooths are in the fold, but Rooths would fit in nicely at the 4 if Mahaney is a no go which moves Gayle to the 2 and Jones to the 3.
FWIW, I think the impact of Camp Sanderson is overstated. The players stayed in AA for the summer to work on their bodies. Not saying, Sanderson isn't amazing, but I think a lot are overrating the impact of Sanderson. Juwan has made it optional for the players which is played a bit of a role of Sanderson's not happy with Juwan.
As long as May can hire a competent S&C coach and requires the players to stay in the summer to work on their game and body, they'll be fine.
If Michigan can land Mahaney, it would be huge to have Jones as the 6th man and slot in anywhere from 1 to 3 for May. Gayle and Jones can guard the best perimeter player.
With Walters in the fold, Michigan is in great shape for Goldin. If May can reel in Mahaney, I would give the off-season an A+ for assembling a quality roster at a short amount of time. It is coherent and can scale up and down based on the opponent. Plus there's roster balance with different classes for each players.

The Rams, Lions, SF, LAC, Baltimore are all teams that wants to line up and mash at the LOS. Even the SB champion, KC has started to run the ball more, but it helps that they have Mahomes who is the best QB in the league.
Trends are cyclical from power running game to wide open passing game and now back to power running game. Defense has gotten smaller and faster so teams are going bigger in response to it. The OL are much more athletic than it used to be 20 years ago.

I think it was Ruben Jones. Ruben Jones is the best defender on the team. Gayle is good at defending as well.

Cheddar isnt a true PF in May system even though he's a shooter. May prefers a wing at PF and Cheddar is most certainly not. He's a stretch big.
