Michigan moved up to #3 on KenPom, now fractionally ahead of UVA, who was lackluster in victory over VCU and Nevada, who is currently playing Grand Canyon (18-point favorites on KenPom).

Saw a huge display of CBS at a random Family Fare last month. Can't believe how easy it is to find now.

12/04/2018 - 4:28pm Maybe Northwestern has run…

Maybe Northwestern has run zone in practice but if they essentially haven't done it in their first eight games, I find it unlikely that they would try it tonight, especially after how well Michigan shot from deep last week.

12/04/2018 - 1:09pm Maryland didn't play in a…

Maryland didn't play in a pre-conference tournament this season. They just scheduled a bunch of buy games at home, probably so that Turgeon could pad his win total and avoid being fired.

I don't get the UVA love so far if we're talking just what has been done this season.

Why did you censor your post? This isn't grade school; you can say bad words.

You are a very sad person, Shawn L Martin.

11/30/2018 - 1:17pm Well, if Football Scoop…

Well, if Football Scoop wrote it then it must be true!

11/30/2018 - 1:16pm Sounds like the three…

Sounds like the three longest tenured university presidents are his Teflon coating, though the article doesn't state why they might be so loyal/protective of him, just the insinuation that they are.

One former Pac-12 athletic director said of Scott: "He couldn't care less about the athletic directors. His allegiance is to the three big shots  - Michael Crow (ASU), Ed Ray (Oregon State) and Gene Block (UCLA).

"The other ones either don't care or don't understand or there's a lot of transition on their campus so they aren't as engaged."

The Pac-12 presidents and chancellors make up the Pac-12 CEO Group. Crow, Ray and Block are the only three original university leaders who remain since Scott was hired in 2009. No matter how frustrated fans are, no matter how disenchanted ADs are, no matter how helpless the football coaches feel, the ultimate fate of the conference rests with them.

11/30/2018 - 11:16am When Killian Tillie returns…

When Killian Tillie returns Gonzaga is going to be scary good. In the meantime, the transfer from San Jose State is doing pretty well what with his 4+ blocks per game.

11/30/2018 - 11:08am This doesn't bother me as…

This doesn't bother me as much as the fact that the selection committee team sheets still include some bullshit metric called KPI, developed by a former MSU student manager, that has consistently done a terrible job of seeding teams in its history. And this thing is specifically highlighted (along with RPI, KenPom, BPI and others) on each school's official team sheet.

(KPI had Michigan a 5 and was the only entry in the Bracket Matrix that had them anything other than a 3 or a 4.)

11/30/2018 - 10:20am So, I don't think the NCAA…

So, I don't think the NCAA had its brightest minds working on the NET.  Or, it did -- which is terrifying. :)

Seems like it's being universally panned by the analytics crowd so I'm guessing the former.

11/30/2018 - 9:42am So even though 10 points was…

So even though 10 points was set as the margin of victory cap for "blowouts," the second component of NET factors in efficiency margin which is essentially margin of victory (more blowouts equals higher efficiency margin). So unless I'm oversimplifying or misunderstanding, their "margin of victory" cap is basically pointless and is peak NCAA.

This is relevant as Michigan has yet to play a game where they did not win by at least 17 points.

11/29/2018 - 3:49pm And then is fired himself…

And then is fired himself the next season when he goes 6-6/7-5.

11/29/2018 - 3:48pm Solid effort, troll.

Solid effort, troll.

Seems a bit risky. If SC doesn't have a major bounceback year he could be looking for a job again when Helton is canned.

11/29/2018 - 3:26pm Tennessee hasn't won shit in…

Tennessee hasn't won shit in two decades. Not everything is about win/loss record when it comes to recruiting.

11/29/2018 - 10:49am Yeah, maybe if the other…

Yeah, maybe if the other school he was considering wasn't Tennee-freakin'-see, they of a 5-7 record and an average margin of defeat of 25 points.

(Fun fact: UT's first three losses this season were all by 26 points.)

Nah, I'm good.

11/28/2018 - 11:57am Why would you want Michigan…

Why would you want Michigan to go to a lesser bowl?

11/28/2018 - 11:57am This is not a farfetched…

This is not a farfetched scenario (Memphis winning). They probably should have won the first time they played UCF but collapsed in the fourth quarter. I know the game is in Orlando but I wouldn't be shocked if the Tigers upset the Milton-less Knights.

Of course this could lead to a similar lose/lose scenario if Michigan ends up playing Boise or Fresno.

I thought the same thing. He gave himself an out on a technicality.

11/27/2018 - 3:45pm Harbaugh's style of offense…

Harbaugh's style of offense has been dead for a while.

Proof of this is watching Stanford become more and more irrelevant in a garbage Pac-12 because David Shaw, a Harbaugh disciple, is the biggest football dinosaur.

11/27/2018 - 2:25pm Pretty soon you won't have…

Pretty soon you won't have anything to do once autonomous trucks take away the only thing you know how to do in this world. Don't worry, though. Microsoft Word has a handy résumé template.

I think it's a PA thing. I knew a guy from Pittsburgh who would say stuff like, "The lawn needs mowed" or "the carpet needs vacuumed."

Yeah, I think this is his third senior year.

AFAIK, there is no "under the hood" data available and it doesn't appear that the NCAA intends to release it.

11/27/2018 - 6:07am I read your assertion that…

I read the assertion that Oregon was a "great" team and thought, "Uh, no. Good? Maybe." Then they went out and lost at home by five to 1-4 Texas Southern as 27-point favorites.

As long as rape-enabler Dana Altman is their coach they will not be great nor will they have an ounce of morality.

11/26/2018 - 12:03pm The article I read yesterday…

The article I read yesterday speculated that Brown would put together an "all-star" OC/DC tandem; I believe the names they mentioned were Kliff Kingsbury and Gene Chizik.

11/25/2018 - 8:17pm Feel bad that the kid was…

Feel bad that the kid was injured at a part of the game that was completely meaningless. On the flip side, I hope it eats up Meyer inside that he got one of his starters hurt because he wanted to go all Woody Hayes on Michigan. Asshole.

11/25/2018 - 11:55am 2016 and 2017 featured JT…

2016 and 2017 mostly featured JT Barrett running the ball a bunch which is much easier to defend than a 4/5-wide spread air raid attack.

Michigan had a 10-point lead in the third quarter in 2016 and a 14-point lead in the second quarter last season and lost both because they couldn't get stops.

11/25/2018 - 11:47am Smith was nowhere near as…

DeVeon Smith was nowhere near as good a back as Higdon. Karan has his faults but if you put Smith into this year's offense it would've been significantly worse.

11/24/2018 - 1:28pm Great gameplan, Jim.

Great gameplan, Jim.

11/24/2018 - 10:22am Say what you want about…

Say what you want about Jackson's looks but he's been very complimentary of Michigan all season long, and not just for a former Buckeye. He's been stating Michigan is the best team in the conference since midseason.

11/23/2018 - 1:20pm UCLA looks like crap and…

UCLA looks like crap and Steve Alford is a lousy coach.

11/23/2018 - 1:17pm Unfortunately that means it…

Unfortunately that means it can still be Daniel Capron and his idiot crew of bumbling morons.

You seem to have anger problems.

11/20/2018 - 10:38am You're forgetting the sad…

You're forgetting the sad touchdown scored by PSU, so it's 26 second half points in the games you mention (19 in the third quarter). Your point remains, though, that Michigan is dominant in the second half.

11/20/2018 - 9:20am I can only assume that all…

I can only assume that all of these questions were asked by Crowley Sullivan.
