I'm old enough to remember…

I'm old enough to remember when our basketball team had more players than coaches.

Sorry sir, I disagree.  Him…

Sorry sir, I disagree.  Him sending her the heart sign would've been taken just fine IF he hadn't responded "if you do that to  me we'll get along just fine" after she told him she did it after every game towards her family.

If the idiot had said something like "yes Caitlin (see I can spell it right) I think it's a very nice gesture and I wanted you to feel at home here" nobody would've said a word about it.

It wasnt the human heart emoji that got him in trouble.  It was the veiled threat he made that could be taken a LOT of ways that did him in.

You're right, it's…

You're right, it's everywhere.  Here in Cleveland one of our local idiots with a mic & platform, no sorry, journalists, went on a Jihad day before yesterday because the Browns signed two players to one day contracts so they could retire as a Brown.  He said it was "embarrassing" that they did that (the players Christian Kirksey & Rashard Higgins were both popular with the fans) and acting like they were being signed to an actual roster slot.

He got summarily roasted by literally everyone and the next day he apologized.

Given that we have two NFL…

Given that we have two NFL caliber D linemen and a less than robust (allegedly) NIL program AND a new coaching staff I will hold off on throwing any rocks at the portal's glass house until May 1st.

If I had written a big…

If I had written a big longer I'm sure I could've found a fourth way to spell it.

"And, because of the OP, I'm…

"And, because of the OP, I'm now not sure how to properly spell Ms. Clark's first name."

Welcome to my world.

Which one do you like better…

Which one do you like better?  Personally I favor the Caitlan version but I can see where some folks, like her parents for example, would lean more towards the Caitlin versus the Caitlan.  Then there's the Caitlen which is the only one that spellcheck rejects (NTTAWWT) but in effort to be more inclusive I tossed it into the mix.

I wonder if our admission's…

I wonder if our admission's department has a pole somewhere where they carve a notch for every prospective athlete they've been successful at blocking going to school at Michigan?  Or do they have a big board inside the department with a headcount of how many they've been able to shut down?  "This month's goal is to deny 20 prospective transfers guys and we're only at 10.  Got to pick up the denial pace or we're not having the end-of-the month happy hour"

Or do they have a wall with pictures of prospective players with X's through them like the serial killers do in the movies?   Pelts if you will of successfully blocking a transfer from coming here.

We need new shirts.  The "Michigan vs everybody" are so 2023.  I propose a new version: "Michigan vs Michigan".

I knew he was a goner when…

I knew he was a goner when he didnt even warrant one of Seth's emoji faces on the depth chart preview.   Candidly when he saw that he prolly turned his paperwork in right away.

There is a small, but…

There is a small, but growing, part of me that honestly believes our admissions department views each potential transfer with the attitude of "how can we keep this person out" versus "how can we get this person qualified for admission"?

Unlike literally every other D1 school with athletic aspirations, our "no-admission" admission department seems to be a willing and formadble adversary to the athletic teams that must work through them.

Had a similar thought.  If…

Had a similar thought.  If the best basketball program over the past two years wants you it's a safe bet that the talent level is there.

Candidly I'm rooting for all the transfers.  I dont think the program & coaching they got was what they were promised.

Co-signed x 1000.We see this…

Co-signed x 1000.

We see this exactly the same way, Michigan is treated unfairly because we've chosen to allow it.  And as long as we allow it, it will continue unabated.

FWIW my prediction is when sign-gate if adjudicated at some point they will use the fact that we are on probation and have multiple level one violations as the fodder for a punishment that far exceeds the crime (if there actually WAS a crime that is).  I think the NCAA is playing the long game here, giving us a slap on the wrist for burger-gate that sets up whatever they want to do later.

They hate Harbaugh and they know institutionally we are weak, ineffectual pussies scared of conflict and authority.  So like your bully analogy they are going to keep coming back for more.

This was exactly my thought…

This was exactly my thought as well.  I've said from the very beginning of this nonsense last September that this anti-Michigan witchhunt was personnel and directed squarely at Harbaugh.  He poked the bear repeatidly with Satelitte camps, advocating for player pay and openly questioning officiating  in games where we got obviously screwed.  And the NCAA did not like that one bit.

It would not surprise me to learn that Warde slow-played the contract and didnt publicly back Jim because of his buddies at the NCAA told him "if he goes, your troubles with us go.  And if he stays, prepare for endless shit from us."

This was clearly a vendetta.

My assumption was Mars…

My assumption was Mars wouldnt issue a statement that damning to Michigan without being directed to do so by his client.

That's exactly how I read it…

That's exactly how I read it too.  Hence the "Lord".

JH gets ran out of town and…

JH gets ran out of town and fatass gets his spot on the CFB playoff chair.

And you absolutely know the first question FA asked when told these would be the punishments was "this doesnt effect me being on the CFB playoff committee right?   Right?   I mean I didnt do any of that awful, awful stuff - it was that other guy, not me."

The fact that they actually issued show-cause penalties for this nonsense should give everyone a very clear idea of just how much the NCAA hated Harbaugh and how badly they wanted him gone.

Imagine you're driving down…

Imagine you're driving down the road in the right lane going 65.5 MPH and get pulled over for going .5 over the speed limit.  And the entire time the cop is going through the "I need to see your drivers license, proof of insurance, etc" cars are flying by going 95 or more.  I'm guessing your reaction would be "are you fucking kidding me?  Look around, why are you pulling me over for going .5 over the limit while cars are going 30, 40 over?????"

I'm guessing Jim's reaction to the cheeseburger violations would mirror yours in that situation.

Who the hell knows and by…

Who the hell knows and by that I mean every single fan, coach & NFL scout in the world.

If there's one thing the NFL has proven, beyond a shadow of reasonable doubt, is that they dont know sweet dick-all about drafting QBs.  Nobody.  Look at the drafts over the past few years years alone

2018: Mayfield, Darnold, Allen,  Rosen & then Jackson (oops, the last guy turned out pretty good.  First two?  Not as much)

2019: Trubinski and then Mahomes (yeah, one of the best QBs of all time behind Mitch makes sense)

2021: Lawrence, Wilson & Lance (the generational QB draft according to experts. NOT.)

2023: Bryce (mini me) over Stroud.

So do I want him to succeed?  Absofuckinglutely.  Do I think he will?  I have no idea.  And neither does anybody else.

In fairness to the…

In fairness to the delusional idiots at 11 Warriors & RCMB having the B1G commissioner suspend Harbaugh immediately after the mean girls teleconference with no due cause and then describe the situation as the worst scandal in the history of the conference didnt help matters any.

In the words of the late, great David Bowie, he was "putting out the fire with gasoline"

This thread is a great…

This thread is a great example of good topic with bad execution.   Had the OP framed it as something like "If Signgate is real, wouldnt that suggest Michigan players will be devalued by NFL scouts in the upcoming draft?"  Then they could literally post each of the players expected to be drafted, the rounds they are projected to go and ask the board the over/under on the players.  Someone did a post similar to this recently that was pretty good IMO.

I'm actually not downvoting the OP (you guys seem to have that handled nicely) because I actually think his topic was a valid one unlike a lot of the shit posts we've seen around this subject.  He just fucked up the execution of it.

As a Browns fan my twitter…

As a Browns fan my twitter feed is dominated by people who cover or are fans of both OSU & the Browns so I can speak with confidence when I predict that within an hour I will be treated to numerous posts claiming he's leaving because the hammer is about to fall on Michigan.  These wack-a-doodles post severral times a day about the impending doom of our program and how it's only a matter of days before we're nuked back to the stone age by our NCAA overlords.  And it never stops-day after day they wishcast our demise and every day the ubiquitous punishment "hammer" gets larger.  It's gotten so bad for some (looking at you Matt Finkes & Buckeye Scoop) that even their own followers have started begging them to stop.

We truly have broken them.

they are the worst state…

they are the worst state ever, and they earn that title every day.

Rumor has it there's a few folks down there that are pretty cool.  Or so I've heard.

But if such a coach did…

But if such a coach did exist (and we all know he doesn’t) my guess is the powers that be wouldn’t like that very much.  My guess is they’d do anything to drive such a coach out of the NCAA, and by anything I mean that might even have the notion to make up spurious charges against him to prove their point.  They might even suspend that coach (if he existed) multiple times without due cause.  Hell, it wouldn’t surprise me if they went so far as to pull his AD aside and say “if he goes, your troubles with us leave with him.”

I mean in this purely hypothetical world it might happen.

Excellent info as always…

Excellent info as always Magnus - thank you.

FWIW the people I follow on Browns twitter who also cover the Buckeyes remain convinced that the reason for our recruiting issues this year isnt because of an entirely new coaching staff.  No, the REAL reason is because the NCAA hammer is coming down on the program (any day now) and the recruits have been tipped off major, MAJOR sanctions are on the way.

The Japanese soldiers hiding in caves on remote pacific islands still fighting WWII until the late 50's got nothing on these guys.

FWIW living in Northern Ohio…

FWIW living in Northern Ohio I find that I too have that same look on face quite frequently.  And oddly enough I've had it for the past three years.

Go figure.

I'm not into hockey the way…

I'm not into hockey the way some of you guys are (looking at you I bleed Maize n Blue) but I'm old enough to know ANY hockey team has a chance if their goalie gets hot.  And kinda lost in the excitement of our last two third period offensive explosions has been the huge improvement in the play of Barczewski.  He's been rock solid for the past two games and if that continues I'd say we've got a hellofalot better shot at winning the whole thing than 20%.

Why not us?

If QBs go 1,2,3 & 4 as some…

If QBs go 1,2,3 & 4 as some have projected my guess is he'll take best athlete available.  I know a lot of people think that's Harrison but knowing the type of offense Jim likes to run it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he takes Alt from Notre Dame.  That would give him a cornerstone tackle and we all know how much value he places on the offensive line.

If one of the QBs slip (and my guess is it would be Maye) then I'd bet anything he'll trade out of 5 to the highest bidder between NYG, LV, Minnesota or Denver.

February 11, 1990.  The unbeatable undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson if fighting a club fighter Buster Douglas in Japan for a paycheck.

When the news initially broke that Tyson got beat I did not believe it.  Hell, I dont think I believed it for quite a while and figured it was all some elaborate hoax given how completely dominant Iron Mike had been as a champion.

Trust me, one ex-wife is plenty.

Sadly, based on is recent higlly publicized troubles, the police immediately stating foul play was not suspected and with his ex-teammate and friend Pat Mcafee stating at the end of his show today that listeners should "reach out to your people so they know they're not alone" it definitely appears he took his own life.

So sad.

The good news is while HUEL will not let you edit an original post it will let you edit a comment inside a thread.  Now would be an excellent time to take advantadge of that feature and change that comment to something like "I love puppies.   I dont know if Vontae Davis loved puppies but I'm sure he did.  Too bad he's gone, him being a fellow lover of puppies."

Or something like that.

I get Moore being ranked 9th…

I get Moore being ranked 9th.  He's brand new with almost no track record but the one that really stood out to me as being just wrong was Shiano at 15 behind a whole host of newbies and guys who've really never done anything.

Like him or hate him he's resurrected the Rutgers program from the absolute dead, TWICE, and that alone earns him much higher marks than most on that list.  Personally I'd slot the guy at either 4 or 5 given what he's been able to do there.

In 68 my dad’s patient was Jim Price (he was a dentist) and one night, at the height of McClains popularity, 9 year old me got to have dinner with Jim Price, Denny McClain and my dad.  McClain gave me an autographed baseball “Best wishes to Donnie, your pal Denny McClain”

The next day in Mrs Martin’s 4th grade class I brought the ball.  That was the closest I’ve ever felt to knowing what a God must feel.
