I really like Ace on the podcast. I think he makes it better. Also disagree with the take on him always going with what Brian says. I feel they disagree plenty. Since we're talking about the podcast, though, Brian needs to speak up. Kinda trails off and I'm cranking up the volume to hear everything.
Easily the best sports blog I've read. And a top 5 food blog thanks to Mgobbq. We're spoiled here. And it's been great hearing Ace on the podcasts again.
First of all, I think what you really meant to say was “As I see it, he had another chance at the bowl game to entertain me. Instead, he abandoned me. And for what?”
Not sure how you could find the career-ending injury thing not very persuasive. It’s a solid argument that he could have ended all hopes of a professional career in an exhibition game.
I don’t think NFL scouts give much of a crap about leadership or “jumping ship.” See: Bosa, Nick. He’s the racist that quit a month into the season and got picked second overall. The NFL doesn’t care about college football. The NFL doesn’t care about Michigan’s bowl game. They care about elite talent staying healthy.
“In other disappointing news, Zach Gentry, who had a poor bowl performance, but still left early, goes in the 5th round to the Steelers.” Kind of funny that you didn’t miss a beat between “bowl performance would have helped Higdon” and “Gentry had a terrible bowl game and still got drafted.” Also not entirely sure why Gentry being drafted is “disappointing news.”
While I'm sure some students do try to get away with streaming during class, I would guess that most of the streamers are doing so before or after class for whatever reason (waiting for a friend, waiting for class to start, etc.). Wi-Fi doesn't know if a device is currently being used by someone in class or waiting outside of one, nor do most students realize that their movie is screwing over someone trying to upload a document. Seems this policy should fix those issues.
Bo also said "we're not gonna criticize each other, we're not gonna talk about each other, we're gonna encourage each other." Roughly translated into 2018 talk, that's "we're not gonna negbang each other, we're gonna POSbang each other." So I think Bo would approve of this thread.
Posts like these are good, in my opinion. All too often, women are abused and their abusers are protected. The enablers are protected. The abuse continues. Yes, this post ignores the victims, but it puts yet another target between the eyes of the abusers and the enablers. Every time one of these posts goes up, it keeps the heat on the abuser and the enabler. Urban Meyer's main priority in life is winning. To win, he needed the best recruits. So let him burn. Shove it in their faces. Let him and his fans worry about the consequences of his actions.
Close second was the crazy guy who wants Peppers and Gary to get hurt because they picked Michigan instead of a different school that is also not rutgers.
Did they mention that they have a better win% against us than ohio state (.450) and michigan state (.347)? It'll be true for a few more days. They should totally run with that.
A few others have told their stories of M fans with msu connections, so here's mine:
When I was in second grade, my school had a day where everyone was supposed to wear apparel from their favorite college team. I knew nothing about Michigan, mighigan state, GVSU, none of them. So I told my mom that I needed a shirt for the next day and she came back from the store with a michigan state shirt. I wore it the next day and suddenly found myself alienated from some of my firends and aligned with others I barely knew. "You like state!? Ew!" and "You like the spartans, too? Cool!" I hadn't been expecting that because I had not been into sports at all. That night at dinner, still wearing my michigan state shirt, I turned to my big brother and said "You like michigan state, right?" He grunted with a mouth full of spaghetti and simply said "No. Michigan." and went back to eating. I felt terrible. Like I had let him down. And from that moment on, I was a Michigan fan.
Sometimes I see state fans and I shake my head sympathetically because they didn't have a big brother who loved them enough to ensure they grew up maize and blue.
The student who wrote the opinion piece is correct. And the statement by Penn State's president isn't very comforting. To me it reads a lot like "Look, everyone, she is allowed to have an opinion. Just ignore her." When they should be saying "She's right. Everything she is saying is right."
Keep doing what he's doing, but step it up to another level against MSU and OSU. Then hire Scott Frost as his Heisman campaign manager. Do all that and it's in the bag.
I'm glad things have turned around, but I really liked the 'Panic and run around screaming' shirt I got here. Although, I guess I can keep wearing it until we beat MSU and OSU.
The Harbaugh rage strip is great, but I can't stop watching Durkin storm back and forth behind him. It's like he wants to explode, but knows Harbaugh has it covered.

Based on how far inside the pitch was, I wouldn't be surprised if "that's horrible" wasn't in reference to his own pitch and the ump misread it.

That's not my understanding of that situation. I read that he informed the AD like he was supposed to. So the situations are quite different.
