07/09/2018 - 1:17pm 9/1 is getting close!

What…

9/1 is getting close!

What is your plan for that day? Are you going? Or are you just watching at home or bar? Who you watching with? Get your plan straight now. Time to get lit boys

My plan is to be there with my boys and enjoy a beatdown of nd.

#saturdaysarefortheboys

Goddamnit, man.

07/07/2018 - 5:34pm He meant that IMG so over…

He meant that IMG so over-scouted that Thomas will be scouted despite being surrounded by future D1 players. That obviously isn't the case for Jones, who doesn't play for a school like IMG.

Also, he's a Michigan writer who makes a living getting information from people within the program. He's rarely going to write negative pieces about Michigan players, commitments, or coaches.

It's not a sham, you just need to use your brain.

06/26/2018 - 3:21pm It's a general term used for…

It's a general term used for high-caliber offensive lineman.

Maybe you'd have a different opinion if his tape began with creepy, stolen pictures of half-naked women.

lolz stfu

He's a five-star mauler. If he flipped to Michigan you'd be on the board talking about how amazing he's going to look under Warinner.

Best of luck to the kid against what will continue to be one of the best defensive lines in football here in Ann Arbor.

06/03/2018 - 6:36pm Elite 11 rankings are

Elite 11 rankings are absolute trash based on nonsense. I like that Cade's garnering attention on a national stage, but you can take any scouting reports from E11 and use them as emergency toilet paper.

06/01/2018 - 12:08pm Lewerke's a solid QB on a

Lewerke's a solid QB on a power 5 team coming off double-digit wins. Anyone with these credentials is going to generate some sort of Heisman hype, whether it's as a sleeper or a favorite, so who fucking cares?

Now if we can assemble an above average offense we'll demolish MSU and he'll be a non-topic.

Look man are you MGoFish or not?

05/30/2018 - 2:59pm Well, people are naturally

Well, people are naturally going to scream "comeback!" after the city implodes. That said, the change in the last 5 years, especially the last 2, has been incredible. I'm a little worried that it'll come to a screeching halt when the economy corrects and Dan Gilbert's pockets thin out with the housing market; but even if that happens, progress has already clearly been made.

05/30/2018 - 2:53pm This narrative is pretty

This narrative is pretty overblown. The businsess district is extremely safe - you'd have to be looking for trouble to find it. In fact, that's the case for mostly everything between Campus Martius and Comerica. Just don't venture around Greektown alone at 2:00 in the morning.

05/30/2018 - 2:41pm Most of the recent Detroit

Most of the recent Detroit hype is built around the Downtown renewal. Quicken Loans, Ally, Nike, LinkedIn, Under Armour, Microsoft, Shinola Hotel, Little Caesars Arena.. it seems like every month a company announces that they're moving into the city or making renovations.

I've worked downtown for the better part of 3 years now, and every summer the city looks cleaner and busier than the last. For the first time I'm actually considering moving here when my lease expires.

05/30/2018 - 2:09pm The comeback continues.
And

The comeback continues.

And yes, I realize Detroit won't ever be the Detroit of old, but it's quickly becoming a unique mid-sized city.

05/29/2018 - 11:58am Maybe if you want to work

Maybe if you want to work difficult labor for your entire life and come home miserable every night; but for those who want to pick their field and make more than $40k, you better go to college.

It's 2018, not 1920 - graduating high school doesn't get you anywhere these days.

Just..... read the post and think on it, okay? Reeeeaaaaally think.

05/25/2018 - 11:23am This is literally the same

This is literally the same exact thing as being poor. So what you're saying is, it's harder to get rich when you start poor than to get rich when you start poor.

Logic!

Also, even if your well-off family isn't paying for your education, you still reap the benefits of a well-off family in countless other ways. Coming from a poor kid who went to Michigan, I can tell you there is still a massive difference.

Ben VanSumeren, because he's Ben Mason - but with hands!

Seriously, I'm excited to see what  Harbaugh can cook up for a guy who has the ability to be the first man through the hole and go up and get the ball like a tight end.

I live in the Royal Oak area. Can anyone suggest some solid spots for an occasional angler?

05/02/2018 - 11:15am Once went fishing with my

Once went fishing with my brother and father. Dad noticed two missile-sized northern pike swimming side-by-side about 10 feet from our boat right as my brother was throwing the anchor in - directly on top of the fish. They both see the fish swimming away and scramble to cast their lines, only for them to tangle mid-air. My father looks over and starts screaming about the lost opportunity.

I was cackling and drinking a beer on the other end of the boat.

04/26/2018 - 12:34pm Never take a RB R1 unless

Never take a RB R1 unless he's a generational talent. Lions definitely need to go after a defensive lineman.

Not sure if I should be excited or drink myself to sleep.

02/11/2018 - 4:17pm Cena can juice all he wants.

Cena can juice all he wants. Dramatic wrestling isn't a sport.

02/11/2018 - 4:15pm True. Most of this can be

True. Most of this can be attributed to how young the sport is in comparison to the majors (football, basketball, etc.). UFC 1 happened in 1993, and it didn't really pick up steam for years. The men's roster is just now beginning to fill out across multiple divisions.

02/11/2018 - 1:59pm Yeah, the sport definitely

Yeah, the sport definitely isn't where it needs to be, but it's making progress. Right now the biggest problem seems to be phasing out legacy fighters who were part of the sport when it was wrought with juice.

02/11/2018 - 1:56pm Yes, I did. Uriah Hall,

Yes, I did. Uriah Hall, world-renowned striker, is ranked ninth in middleweight. It's top-heavy, but every division is top-heavy. Middleweight just so happens to  have more beasts at the top than any other division.

02/11/2018 - 1:54pm Maybe for a true striker, but

Maybe for a true striker, but Luke's an animal on the ground. Romero is a nasty takedown artist, but his submission game isn't as strong as Luke's. Both guys wanted it on the feet.

02/11/2018 - 1:12pm Agreed. I'm not placing

Agreed. I'm not placing blame, rather stating that he missed weight. It won't be a consistent issue for Romero like it has been for some.

02/11/2018 - 1:11pm Romero's been popped for

Romero's been popped for juicing before; he hasn't taken the avacado smoothie route like Tom Brady.

Biggest issue for Luke was the inability to hammer away with the left leg. Kicking to the closed side is basically useless. He clearly wasn't willing to switch stances, which turned it into a standup boxing match, and we all know Luke's hands are secret trash.

02/07/2018 - 5:23pm Eh, the Diaz loss is mostly

Eh, the Diaz loss is mostly due to fatigue and subsequent laziness in his slipping/parrying. Had he been prepared for a marathon he would've slipped the check hook that left him concussed.

Still, all three of his losses are from submissions.

02/07/2018 - 5:18pm Conor is a purple belt in

Conor is a purple belt in BJJ. A purple belt. Floyd is a will-someone-show-me-what-a-kimura-is white belt.

If it went to the ground, Conor would choke him out, or break his arm, or throw him in a triangle, or bend him arm behind his back, or..... the list goes on.

He's only been out of

lolz

He's only been out of the UFC for so long because he chased, and ultimately received, a $100,000,000.00 paycheck. Conor would smash Ferguson.

The real nightmare at 155 is Khabib "I'm going to smesh yaboi" Nurmagomedov. He would indeed smash yaboi.

02/07/2018 - 3:30pm There is a wide gap between

There is a wide gap between Floyd and Conor in boxing. It isn't a gap in MMA - it's a fucking chasm.

To put things into perspective: Conor is a BJJ purple belt. At a street level, a purple belt is capale of submitting 99.9% of the walking human population with relative ease. It takes years of training to get to that degree of ability - and he's still considered terrible on the ground in professional fights. Floyd is a white belt who would get submitted by a lot of upper-level white belts.

That's not even the biggest piece - which is the kick. Conor would throw leg and body kicks until Floyd cried wolf, then start climbing to the head when his body wore down. It would be over inside 2 minutes.

Oh man, you're going to live on north campus and commute to Dennison like it's your job. Godspeed.

Check out the libraries, and definitely walk around downtown. If there's one thing I could redo from my time in AA, it would be going downtown much more often.

Howdard's out with an injury.

Choosing between Bryant and Shepard is tough. Bryant has a much easier matchup and will see his snap count up with AB out... but Shepard's definitely the better WR of the two. Roll with Bryant if you want a guaranteed floor of 8'ish points, or Shepard if you want upside.

I just won my championship last week. Thankfully we started the playoffs early to avoid the benching weeks. Good luck!

247 is the only one that seems to have picked up on the kid's size/athleticism combination. Would've been a virtual lock for the top 200 had he gone to an American high school in a populated area.

12/18/2017 - 9:10pm The only part of his game

The only part of his game that screams "project" is his build. He needs to put on 10-20 pounds of solid muscle before he'd be able to block or take a hit at the next level. Clearly has the natural ability to find the ball and pluck it, which is much more important than testing results.

Wishing all applicants the best of luck. Ann Arbor really will change your life.
