I predict we go 9-3 and our idiot fanbase loses its mind and starts calling for Harbaugh's head.

Just watched the finish and was cheering for Will Power because of the name. Had no idea Quinton Washington was on that team.
|05/17/2018 - 12:27am||Suuuper premature.
I'm all in for Shea (although I feel comfortable also if BP or DM has to play some snaps) but let's see him out there running around in a winged helmet before we start awarding trophies.

No it's not tough to argue. You looked like idiots at the time and with the benefit of hindsight you still look like idiots today.
You're going to look like idiots when you start calling for Coach Harbaugh's head when we don't win the Big Ten this season, too.
|04/13/2018 - 2:42pm||This will be a brutal season.||
This will be a brutal season. The team will be very talented, particularly if Shea is eligible to run the offense and if we can find a tackle to protect him.
However the strength of schedule is absolutely brutal. I'm predicting a 9 win season and more moping, uninformed bitching, and general obnoxiousness from fans.

Isn't it amazing how the decisions of the coaches seem to make a lot more sense when we aren't operating with only 2% of the information that they have? That's a lesson that many posters here would do well to keep in mind....

Also he's correct that Nick Baumgardner doesn't know much of anything about Football.
He literally just reads this blog and then adds a little more "Michigan must do better" spin to it. Also his editors at Mlive were trash and frankly I don't think he's particularly intelligent or a good writer to begin with.

Love that this thread exists here #MichiganDifference. I was scraping possession data for NCAA hoops games from espn.com a couple years ago but they made some changes to their website which broke my method and I haven't bothered fixing it.
I am very curious to learn if there is any free possession level data that is available, since my understanding (as of the last time I looked, which was a couple years ago) was that you had to pay for it.

I'm not so sure UMBC could do that again on any given night.
On so many possessions in that game, UMBC took awful shots but the ball just kept going in.
Not only were they lucky with low percentage circus layups, but they also shot 50% from downtown which means their team average for the game was higher than any of thir individual averages for the entire season. Meanwhile UVA shot 18% from downtown.

There was no sham department at UNC. There was a sham course within a department. I knew students that took AFAM courses and had to work their asses off. They were more pissed than anyone else about the scandal, because they worked their asses off just for future employers to say "Oh, you were in the AFAM department at UNC? LOL"

The offense doesn't need a major reboot, lol.
Our power running game was very good last season and will be even better this season.
We need to develop our receivers, we need to find or develop tackles, and we need a QB that can read a defense and complete accurate and on time passes.
Receivers and QB are very likely to improve next season. OT will be a big question mark.
|02/18/2018 - 4:23am||Like it or not (I personally||
Like it or not (I personally dislike it) Harbaugh/Michigan are on a timer. Fans are not rational and expectations are not reasonable given the current circumstances. We have the toughest schedule in the country next year, but many fans are going to be furious if we don't win the conference and go to the playoffs.
Winning now is not only the best thing for Harbaugh; it's obviously the best thing for Michigan. Losing means further years or instability and doubt, potentially for years to come if we fire our coach or fail to produce a product on field that can sustain good recruiting.
We have a roster that is very talented, and already has a lot of experience with a lot of players poised to make year 2 leaps. But again, we
It makes a lot of sense to bring in a coach who is going to be good at scouting, game planning, and player development -- particularly a WR specialist with the young and talented receiver corps that we have.
Let's see what happens. Next season is going to be very interesting. Will Patterson be elligible? If he is, will he quickly win the job and establish himself or will the margins be close enough to merit an extended battle? And will anyone emerge at tackle?
The pressure is going to be extremely high and the margin for error will be miniscule. I have faith in our staff and program if given enough time, but I do not have much faith in the fanbase.

The part that you pulled out of your ass is the inference of a causal relationship between having two coaches and the struggles of the OL.
You can say with certainty that they had two coaches. You can say with certainty that the OL struggled. You cannot say with certainty that the reason for the struggle was having two different OL coaches.
So yes, I am right. You did pull it out of your ass.

No, what you have seen is an OL that struggled at the same time as having two OL coaches.
The inference of a causal relationship between having 2 coaches and the struggles on the field is something that you've pulled entirely out of your ass.
|01/31/2018 - 12:43pm||Give me a break. You people||
Give me a break. You people are the same ones saying that you don't even want Wilton Speight, who quarterbacked the most efficient and explosive offense in Michigan football history, on the roster. Based on a 4 game sample size throwing to wide receivers who are playing their first ever snaps of CFB.
I'm sure if Drevno is fired or moves on, you'll just find the next thing to complain about because you're a bunch of toxic and miserable lowlives who care way too damn much about college students playing a damn game.

Yep. These so called fans are truly fanatics and have no perspective at all. There is nothing scientific or rational about their methods for assigning blame, and they are completely blind to the extent to which they and their quick twitch reactionary negativity are a part of the problem.
|01/29/2018 - 11:32am||You think Speight had the||
You think Speight had the yips based on a 4 game sample size throwing to true freshman receivers..?
And furthermore you think Pep Hamilton is to blame for that?
|01/27/2018 - 12:16pm||It's getting really old||
It's getting really old man.
There was never any evidence or reason to believe Drevno or Pep were headed anywhere else sometime soon, this was all entirely wishful thinking.
And to be quite honest, I'm not sure the wish is even justified. We went from having an offense which was both 1) the oldest Michigan offense in the modern era, and 2) the most prolific and efficient Michigan offense ever.
To this year having 1) the youngest Michigan offense in the modern era, with extreme inexperience at WR and OT.
These same assholes are the ones who don't want Wilton Speight back, even though he Quarterbacked the most prolific offense in the Michigan era (so he gets no credit, coaches get all the credit for that year) but based on a 4 game sample size this season before he broke his back they're ready to kick him to the curve and they're even gleeful about it. Meanwhile the coaches get all the blame for this year's woes.
I don't get it, man. If all these people are such experts on football and coaching, and so much smarter than our coaching staff, go coach. Oh wait you're not. You should try not to forget it.

No one thought this year was going to be good. Based on one look at the roster, that much is obvious. Where did you insane people come from? Next year will have a difficult schedule but we will be a year older, stronger, faster, and more experienced at almost every position in the starting lineup.

Any competition and depth at OT is good. We need to go all in on addressing that hole in the roster.
|01/11/2018 - 2:19am||How are you so confident that||
How are you so confident that Hamilton is a terrible coach and much worse from Fisch? Because an offense that graduated a bunch of seniors, which by the way was the most prolific offense in Michigan history, took a big step back with new starters at almost every position?
|01/11/2018 - 2:16am||2016 Speight was playing for||
2016 Speight was playing for what I believe was the most prolific Michigan offense in history. How much of that apparent regression is due to Pep's coaching vs. guys graduating and being replaced by younger guys.
